Over the past two days, we hosted the Open Charge Alliance European Plug-Fest & Conference at our head office in Dublin.   The conference brings together organisations working across the EV charging sector to share knowledge, test technologies and explore how the charging experience can be improved for drivers. We are pleased to announce that earlier this week, ESB successfully raised €500 million through its inaugural European Green Bond (EuGB). This marked another significant milestone in our sustainable finance programme to support the delivery of our #ESBNetZeroFuture carbon emissions by 2040 strategy. Anne Marie Kean, ESB Group Treasurer, commented: "The successful completion of ESB's inaugural European Green Bond is an important milestone in the evolution of our sustainable finance programme. The strong investor support received reflects confidence in ESB's strategy and our significant investment programme to modernise and expand Ireland's electricity infrastructure. Our Sustainable Rivers Strategy 2030 sets out a long-term framework for managing the rivers, reservoirs and lakes linked to our hydroelectric operations on the Shannon, Erne, Liffey, Lee, and Clady/Crolly. Aligned with our Net Zero by 2040 strategy, it will help improve river connectivity, support native fish populations, enhance habitats, and benefit local communities. More than 70 graduates from Irish and international third-level institutions have joined ESB's Graduate Programme, bringing expertise from disciplines including engineering, IT, HR, commercial, marketing and finance. The group was recently welcomed by CEO Paddy Hayes at their recent induction in our Dublin head office. Throughout the programme, graduates will gain hands-on experience, contribute to significant projects and develop their careers across a range of business areas. This morning, we released our Interim Financial Statement for the six months ending 30 June 2026. Some key takeaways: - Profit After Tax of €377m  - Almost €1.5bn capital investment in energy infrastructure projects in first six months of the year, up over 16% on same period in 2025 - We are planning capital investment of c. €20bn in the period up to 2030 to deliver an electricity system that can support housing growth, economic expansion and technological transformation across society, in line with the Government’s National Development Plan - Employee numbers pass 10,000, as we continue work to deliver our #ESBNetZeroFuture carbon emissions by 2040 strategy - Results provide basis for continued strong investment to deliver more capacity, and a more sustainable and resilient energy future Read more: https://lnkd.in/ee_r2qTa
