Extremely intrusive verification process for an Xbox gift card
Ordered some Xbox gift cards and was completely shocked by their verification process.
Initially, VidaPlayer requested a photo of my ID showing my name and surname. I complied, with all other personal information and my photo blanked out. They then demanded a selfie of me holding my ID alongside a handwritten statement containing my email address, phone number, purchase details and a declaration accepting responsibility for potential fraud.
All this just to purchase some Xbox gift cards!
Funnily enough... I refused to provide this extra personal information and requested a cancellation and full refund. I've also raised my concerns about the necessity of their requests under UK GDPR... there is no way on earth they can justify this level of verification for an Xbox gift card!
They have confirmed that they're cancelling the order and refunding... However, I've been told it could take a further 4 business days for the money to reach my account.
I appreciate that fraud prevention is important, but this verification process is excessive and intrusive for a relatively straightforward purchase. Extremely concerned about how my identification document would be stored and whether it would be deleted.
Honestly, avoid VidaPlayer at all costs. Do not supply this level of information to them.
Saving a little money on gift cards isn't worth this hassle and security risk.

I used Vidaplayer.com for paysafecard as I wanted to pay with paypal, it took about 2 minutes the whole process, happy with that and also the processing fee made it over £1.50 cheaper than recharge and mobile recharge and just over £1 cheaper than dundle. Fast registration and the code arrives to the email the payment method is registered too. All good overall

Terrible experience
Terrible experience! Paid for a digital product and sent my passport photo for verification. Then they canceled my order, claiming I had multiple accounts, even though I’ve NEVER registered on their website!
No product, no proper explanation, and now I have to wait 7–10 business days for a refund.
Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. Stay away!
