Itinerary Change Without Prior Notice
The support provided by PADI Travel before the trip was always attentive, friendly, and prompt. However, there was one incident that negatively affected my overall experience.
I booked a diving package on the Mermaid II that included a stop in Saleh for scuba diving with whale sharks. When I arrived on board, I discovered that Mermaid had changed the itinerary without informing me beforehand. According to PADI Travel, they had not been notified of the change either.
I did not even receive an apology from Mermaid, and no one took responsibility for the frustration caused by this situation.
For that reason, despite the otherwise excellent service I received from PADI Travel, I cannot give them a five, nor four-star rating.

While we recognize that this decision was disappointing for you as a guest, we also understand the importance of respecting these measures as divers and protecting the incredible marine life that we all travel to experience.

A charming island
The island is truly beautiful; after visiting the Maldives eight times, I can confidently say this is by far the best one I’ve been to. The beach villas are delightful—spacious and comfortable—situated just 10 meters from a spectacular lagoon with incredible colors. The staff is extremely kind (special thanks to Mr. Giorgio, the resort's incredibly helpful and gracious manager, and to Mac, an exceptional dive guide). The food is excellent, but above all, you can truly find peace and enjoy the island's lush greenery without being pestered by loud, intrusive entertainment staff. A special mention for fellow diving and snorkeling enthusiasts: you can see absolutely everything here—sharks, manta rays, huge schools of trevally and colorful fish, eagle rays (we saw a group of 18), massive stingrays, dolphins (even while diving), and turtles galore—all of this just by snorkeling. I give it a 10, simply because you can't give any higher... I’m already thinking about coming back in March. A truly wonderful island.

I had a bad experience with Alpha…
I had a bad experience with Alpha divers, Larnaca, Cyprus. The owner cancelled my Saturday and Sunday dives on the 15th and 16th August, even though the message I had sent the day prior clearly requested to move the Saturday only as I starting to feel unwell. When I called on the Sunday to see what was happening and why I had not been picked up I was told that it was my fault there was a lack of communication and that I shouldn't be bothering him on his day off. He took no accountability whatsoever.
He later tried to get me to dive the day before I boarded back to Melbourne to make it up, saying 18 hours was enough time before flying. I declined and was not refunded anything. I don't feel that I was treated well as a customer.

Booking online was easy but glitchy website
Booking online was easy. We got an immediate phone call about details of our booking and had our questions answered. Then we got emails requesting that we fill in our data, but the links didn’t work properly, and when they did, the websites were glitching. After filling all my information and losing the whole thing twice I gave up.
