Titan Covers - JUST DON'T

Titan Covers - DON'T
Titan Covers, ( Over the Top Textiles). Covers for car seats. One job. Not splitting the atom or anything particularly complicated. To me all that’s needed is;

(i) Qualified and competent staff,

(ii) Attention to detail in producing the assured ‘bespoke’ product,

(iii) A quality ‘fit for purpose’ material to produce said product and

(iv) Informed customer services capable of understanding and appreciating when it all goes drastically wrong.

Titan covers fail, in equal measure, in every aspect of these fundamental requirements.

Let's get started;

Following the purchase of a fairly new car I was unable to secure covers from my favoured supplier. I therefore searched elsewhere and much to my eternal disappointment came across this ragtag outfit.

Following the order and payment for the ‘bespoke’ covers they eventually arrived weeks later. My initial thoughts were one of disappointment. The material felt and is substandard, nasty, slippery lightweight unfit for purpose. ( So disappointed and believing a company using such inferior material would fail at every other standard, I wasn’t wrong, I retrieved my old car cover to see if it would fit, sadly not.

The next stage, fitting, confirmed my worst fears. As my mum would say, it fitted where it touched and it touched in very few places. In addition to the poor fitting, unlike any other company Titan believe the transition between having the rear seat upright verses reclined should be made as complicated and time consuming as possible. Seats up, raise all head restraints, thread the oversized buckles through the confined space and attach same, then force the head restraints down into their correct position whilst the buckles present formidable resistance, attach the meagre poorly positioned velcro to the rear of the seat and relax. Then try pulling the numerous wrinkles from the base of the cargo bay area which is impossible as there isn’t a shred of velcro on the rear of cover to secure the cover.

If this was a one-off operation it would be arduous, but no. When it comes time to drop the seats into the reclined position Titan, bless ‘em, have determined that rather than follow industry standard, and to be fair just a common sense approach, of incorporating a reverse stitched hinge at the pivot point so the seats can just drop down without interference. No, no ,no, there’s none of that. In order to drop the seats the reverse operation needs to be initiated. The head restraints need to be extended, the buckles retrieved and released, the cover detached from the meagre velcro detached before the seats can be dropped.

When there is a need to have the seats down to accommodate our dogs and then have them up to install the child seat for our grandchild on a weekly bases these ridiculous and totally unnecessary operations become a real irritant.

Furthermore, once installed with the seats down, the younger of my two dogs bounded into the car and almost ended up in the driver's seat such is the slip factor of the cover material. Very dangerous in my opinion and yet another reason to avoid.

If less than happy with your expensive purchase from Titan then don't hold your breath with Customer Services, they'll not address any dissatisfaction no matter how valid.

Following several chats with said company and outlining my many valid points and Consumer Act rights to return the defective and falsely advertised ‘bespoke’ product they refused to have me return the product as it was ‘bespoke’. Their interpretation of bespoke is me clicking on their website to identify the make and model of the car I wanted the covers for! Imagine M&S adopting the same policy when your 36” waist 34” inside leg jeans don’t fit! At the time I considered taking Titan Covers to small claims, pretty sure I’d win supported by The Consumer Credit Act but decided life is for living and I’m too busy for inconsequential ragtag companies.

Perhaps those considering wasting their hard earned money with Titan Covers will read my assessment and take their business elsewhere, I do hope so.

Titan Covers, if your response is other than acknowledgement of supplying a sub-standard poorly fitting product along with a full apology then I will forcefully address any other excuses as you seem to do with all reviewers who make valid complaints about your products.
UPDATE ; Titan Covers - instead of trying to have my review removed why not address the points raised with your inferior and overpriced products?

Great quality great service

Certainly not cheap, but really great quality and custom fitted to my particular car. I was stupid enough to try and lower the backseats without undoing the clips which resulted in a rip at the seams. They took it back repaired it at no charge – wonderful service.

Mini Aceman cover doesn't protect underneath the boot floor

The cover fits well and protects the sides and bottom of the boot well enough, but I’m disappointed in the lack of protection to the vertical part of the boot adjoining the boot door/bumper.

Basically the liner is L shaped, so dirt and grit can still get into the storage area beneath the boot floor. I’d expected that it would be U shaped to keep dirt and grit trapped. Maybe the bumper flap would have done this, but I don’t need the bumper protected, I just wanted to keep the dirt within the boot liner.

If you’ve been to the beach and put a wet sandy dog in the boot you’ll still end up with wet sand dropping into the space beneath the boot floor where the charging cable and repair kits are. I’ve had to place and fold a rubber mat into a U and place it on top of the titan cover. Which makes the cover kind of redundant.

If the photos of the cover had been car specific I would not have bought it, but you can’t return it once fitted.

An ill fitting rip-off

There was a really long review here but I’ve deleted it as I simply don’t have the time to engage in any further debate with Titan.

I would never buy another thing from Titan Covers.

Careful tricky return policy!

Bought the boot liner and extender for our new Discovery Sport from Titan. Received them quickly and boot liner fits well. Very happy with it. As we fitted it we realised we didn’t really need the extender as with the seats down and the front seats also covered there isn’t anything else exposed.
Ask for a refund and was told I couldn’t have this even though their ad says they do refunds. On asking further I’ve been told it’s a custom made item specifically for my order and I can return both items or none. It’s the black extender, one of 6 colours, for a Land Rover discovery sport, I would imagine they would be a fairly popular purchase. Very disappointing !

Leapmoter C10 bootliner

I’ve just received and fitted my extended boot liner for my Leapmotor C10. The fit is spot on (even has tabs which fit behind the seats so no edges are exposed) and the material seems sturdy. It also delivered quickly before Christmas which was a nice surprise! I think this is a case of you get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend!

Peugeot e5008 Fabulous liner …

I had been looking for a complete custom cover for my brand new Peugeot e5008 as I have two dogs. Having checked the site it seems they did not have one for the new model year, but offered to template one, using my vehicle, then supply and fit when made free of charge. I took my car along for a couple of hours while they templated the boot space, and returned a couple of weeks later for fitting. Everyone was polite, friendly and welcoming…. And what a product, fantastic. Split three way rear seats, allows for sliding and folding rear seats, designed in facility for rear floor to be lifted for storage and cubby areas lined too. Very very happy with product.

I have just replaced the front seat covers

I have just replaced the front seat covers on my new Peugeot Partner after selling my old car which I had for 10 years. It was fitted with Titan seat covers for 10 years and the covers were still waterproof and in good condition so I let the car go with the covers. I ordered my new seat covers on Monday and they arrived the following day. Excellent help when speaking to staff to ensure I was ordering the correct covers. They emailed me a link to the correct covers. Fitted them this evening. Excellent covers , excellent communication with staff and record time of arrival. I can’t recommend these covers enough. They are tough , durable and excellent value.

Not fit for purpose and arrogant customer support

I ordered a boot liner for my car from Titan covers which arrived in the time frame as expected, however when I came to fit it, I noticed that it wasn’t fitting too well.
The panels didn’t seem to fit properly along the sides of the boot as well as along the floor. I persevered on the basis that they were better than nothing, however most of the panels were too small by 1.5-5cm so were soon pulled off the sides when you started to put loads in the boot.
I contacted Titan highlighting where the panels weren’t fitting properly, providing photos and a video explaining the issues and they just responded by saying that they had been making them for over 10 years without issue and that following their installation instructions should help.
Having watched their installation video and then adding it to my 35 years of experience using various boot liners and 20 years designing and building interiors for expedition 4x4s just confirmed that the cover wasn’t going to fit properly.
I emailed them again and asked them to revisit the photos and videos I had sent over previously and asking them to explain why the panels aren’t fitting properly and their response was to double down, highlighting their experience again and offering a full refund if returned unused (when it was evident from the photos and videos that it had been used) or a 50% refund if I wanted to keep the liner.
In a final attempt to resolve the issue I marked up the cover showing the issues and sent a video over explaining the issues, which they continued to ignore.
The issues are:-
The base panel is 4cm too short front to back and too narrow by 1.5-2 cm
The side panels are too shallow by 1.5-2cm and too short front to back by 3cm
The rear panel over the seats is the correct height, but 4cm too narrow.
As a result if you try to fit it according to their instructions as soon as you load things into the boot the sides are pulled down and so in order to avoid this you need to stick the sides 3cm below where expected.
I understand the enormous pressures small business are under at the moment and it is evident that there has probably been a manufacturing issue in this instance, however to treat their customers like idiots by ignoring the issues is just wrong when they should be offering a simple acknowledgement, apology and offer of a replacement or full refund.

******************************************************
In response to their reply below, not once did they accept that there could be an actual issue with the product, when it clearly didn't fit, they would rather blame the customer. All I have asked for is a cover that actually fits as advertised. I have since returned the cover to them so that they could see the issues themselves and they haven't even bothered acknowledging receipt of it which just highlights how little they care about their customers and the quality of the products they produce.

We are sorry that this customer feels as though they haven't had a great experience. They alerted us to dissatisfaction and we feel we made all efforts to answer their questions including analysis of photo's and video's sent to us (including filtering out the course language used), replying to multiple emails, offering further advice and video's to assist fitting and even the option to return (unused) or a discount as they weren't quite happy with the fit. This offer was made prior to the customer defacing the product with marker pen scribbles and therefore (we think reasonably) the offer was withdrawn. We believe we treated the customer fairly and reasonably and did, in fact, offer a full refund.

Worth the wait

The lead time on boot liners (10 working days) was longer than expected and was then pushed out to 15 days before being completed in 12. Unfortunately the parcel was then 'lost' by the delivery company. That said the sales team were very responsive and helpful and managed to get a replacement made and delivered within a week.
The liner material appears to be of good quality and generally fits well to the contours of the boot. The velcro is a good width and the glue for attaching strips to non velcro friendly surfaces is VERY strong. The buckles that secure around the headrests could be a little smaller but otherwise very happy with the product.

AVOID!

AVOID!! The pictures are really misleading and don’t actually show you what you will actually get.

I’ve been sent a piece of shaped vet bed which isn’t even cut to the shape of my boot and they claim it’s a custom fit and won’t except a return.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We can confirm this customers order was for a custom dog mat in fleece fabric which we clearly advertise online as a dog mat only and boot liners are not included.

Highly disappointed

Highly disappointed. 1) It arrived weeks after the stated delivery time. 2) The sticky tape does not hold the boot liner in place, the sides fall down in warm weather. 3) When you drop the back seats it pulls off the whole boot liner (my last boot liner from a different provider had spare capacity specifically for this reason). If you detach it from the rear headrests then the liner does not cover the back seats. 4) There is no ability to access the underfloor boot space. 5) I have been trying foe weeks to contact Titan covers by both email and phone and have received no response! Terrible experience.
