Terrible Customer Service

Really poor service from our local dealership to fix the 2 recalls on our Toyota Rav4. They have cancelled on us 3 times now, once the day before and twice on the day. Toyota Fort Kinnaird, Edinburgh dealership has to be the worst, or are they all that bad? This has been going on for 8 months now - hopefully the reasons for recall aren't dangerous!!! Avoid this dealership like the plague!

Unfortunately having bought several…

Unfortunately having bought several cars from the St.Albans branch. I can say that service has been very poor and inconsistent on this occasion. The sales associate was asked directly if the deposit would be returned if the deal did not go ahead. The manager today has completely ignored this conversation saying he has not listened to that part of the conversation!! Why call and be argument without all the information.

Stay clear of this organisation! Never again.

Lemons are headaches…

I got a lemon Toyota and Toyota did not honor any manufacture fixes and I kept running into discrimination issues with my local shop trying to get these issues fixed. This was highly unusual because my family has always gravitated to Toyota’s for the longevity of their vehicles. This one soured us from ever doing Toyotas again. This vehicle ended up being a headache and financial mess for me so I ended up getting rid of it. What made me get rid of it was the rental car harassment and the many factory defects where Toyota refused to honor the warranty or they were slimy and refused to honor it.

I had many factory defects in this Toyota and Toyota refused to honestly fix any of it. It should have been covered by warranty but they kept using slimy dodgy responses to refuse to cover the fix. My local dealership was discriminatory towards women who showed signs of any mechanical knowledge i.e., me. My local shop frequently refused service to me and kept telling me I was crazy. This was dishonest and if something is defective you should honor it. My brother kept brining in my car and said “This is what’s going on.” Even they wouldn’t take the time to look at it. I kept having to go to other mechanics to get things fixed for which Toyota refused to acknowledge or fix. I don’t know what it was about this vehicle but when I went to other shops I kept having dishonest mechanics trying to pinch unnecessary fixes out of me.

My car needed an over night fix and the rep began phone haraffing me the minute it was done. I was at work and got a high volume of calls saying “return our rental.” 1 this is highly unprofessional and 2 this turned into harassment. I’m at work and can’t return it in the middle of a shift and told them that many times. You don’t open until after my shift starts and are closed after I’m done. You will have to wait for a shift that allows me to come before or after work to do so. They wouldn’t accept this. They kept harassing me. I had to tell the manager I’d be late that day. This was unacceptable. This does not make me feel valued as a customer. Since this Toyota lemon we have not done a Toyota vehicle since then.

I recently bought a used Toyota Yaris…

I recently bought a used Toyota Yaris from Haverfordwest, I had a great experience with all the team. Especially Calum Pengelly and the manager Rowan Davis. They were both very helpful, and I would go back to them any time. The service was fantastic, and they even gave me chocolate when my blood sugar level was low fantastic service. I have spoken with Callum since I bought the car, to thank him for the way he helped me. Thank you Callum and Rowan.

Toyota Landcruiser 200 Sahara Steering Wheel Failure

I purchased a used 2019 Toyota Landcruiser 200 Sahara. It has approx. 92,000 Kms. The vehicle has a premature manufacturing defect in that; the steering wheel leather is now flaking/peeling which is not consistent with normal wear at this age or kilometres, particularly for a premium vehicle. The car has been garaged and maintained in accordance with Toyota’s care instructions, yet the problem persists. The deterioration affects grip and can be a distraction for the driver, which makes this more than a cosmetic issue. Given Toyota’s premium positioning of the Sahara and the top tier prices paid for these vehicles it is reasonable to expect premium durability in materials.
I am now aware from the various 200 series owner’s groups that this is a common issue with these steering wheels and that other owners the same circumstances have had their steering wheels replaced under warranty. Accordingly, I submitted a warranty claim through Hinterland Toyota Nerang. Yet this claim was denied on the basis that I had purchased the vehicle from another owner. When I challenged this finding, I was told that someone from Toyota Warranty Dept would call me. A week later a person did call but they were unable to explain any reason apart from that mentioned above and could not explain anything beyond the script they were given. Such rationale does not auger well for anyone buying a pre-owned Toyota vehicle, word of which will now spread quickly in the user groups and the internet.
I now have no choice but to submit an ACL claim to the consumer watchdog.

I have had two new CHR on both cars

I have had two new CHR on both cars, the small battery has failed as I am elderly and disabled, this is intolerable. Comments online by other owners speculate that the quality of the battery is poor, especially for low-mileage owners. This does not complement Toyota i wonder if the Chinese cars would be as unreliable

Non existent Toyota security!!!

I have absolutely no complaints with the dealership. They are fantastic, great people and very very helpful in all departments.
However, the vehicle; Toyota hilux invincible x. Had my first one stolen in July 2024 no broken glass and no use of keys as they were locked up.
Replacement invincible x arrived 10th March 2025 (great) but, six weeks later and attempt was made to steal the vehicle from outside the house. No alarm sounding even though they broke a rear door window. The only thing showing on the app was the nearside door opened at
01.40 am and nothing else wrong. They moved the vehicle 50 feet. So, it looks like all Toyota security measures were breached!! And the keys were secured in a Faraday box. The only reason the vehicle was not stolen was the £1800 i spent on a ghost immobiliser and tracker.
I have now had to spend a further £250 on a steering wheel clamp and wheel clamps. I know they won't stop them stealing the vehicle just slow them down and make noise for detection in the act.
As a result my £50000 vehicle as cost me over £52000 plus the £300 for the broken rear quarter light.
So, vehicle good, security and app absolutely useless. As a result, even though I love the vehicle I won't have another due to the lack of security protection provided by Toyota. The technology is out there why can't they adopt it.
I look out of the window every morning expecting the vehicle to be gone or broken. Not a great customer experience. Tried to complete the ipsos review they sent me. After 15 minutes trying to log on I just gave up.
Impossible to penetrate toyota Plc. 'Contact us' with an email
As stated previously, this is no reflection on the dealership.

Fight with Toyota since October 2024

Fight with Toyota since October 2024. Massive company that treats customers like small poor people. Quality customer 10 years meant nothing to them . Sold me an electric car under false pretence by not mentioning poor charge retention in cold weather. Avoided the 14 day cooling off period by putting numerous obstacles in my path. Needed wear hat and gloves in the winter to drive the car . lol 😂 after 9 months of argument and arbitration best I can have is £150 compensation for stress. Don’t buy electric and definitely don’t buy Toyota

I originally purchased my Toyota from…Corwin Toyota in Bellevue NE

I originally purchased a Toyota from Corwin Toyota in Bellevue.
I traded my car in.
It had a chipped windshield they never replaced.
The car came with no floormats under the paper mats. Very deceiving.
The carfax report was not disclosed until after the purchase was made.
I traded my car in and paperwork was signed with a loan agreement made.
14 days later they notified me over the phone, stating I needed to return. They made a mistake regarding our loan agreement and papers needed to be resigned. Note, they already had my prior car.
I drove 45 miles back. No one was there to help me. I waited 45 minutes, they had to find out at my time expense why I was even there.
In the agreement it states the car I purchased comes with a gold star warranty and I was pressured into buying additional insurance I never wanted again at my added expense.

A few days later, I get a welcome letter with a card stating I have purchase silver status on my car. The agreement signed, clearly states I have gold status. I have not gotten any books outing the gold status or the insurance I am covered by, for which I was charged.
I called the Toyota Corporation and 3 different numbers including the local dealership.
No one has gotten back to me yet. They sure wanted the sale, but yet to fulfil the satisfaction they promote they promise.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service , misleading information, selling add-on you don't need. They even sold a policy for tyres and alloys protection (£400) but never activated it. We just discovered it now ( after 1 year) because we had a puncture in one of the tyre and it needed to be fixed. Don't trust the Cardiff branch!

My Toyota Yaris hybrid broke down again…

My Toyota Yaris hybrid broke down again (21model)
Reason flat 12v battery.
The AA said I need to run the engine for an hour each week. If I had known this at time of purchase I would not have bought the car. Its a great car otherwise but I cannot recommend anyone buys a toyota hybrid unless its is used frequently for reasonable mileages.
The reason this is occurring is a design fault by toyota in that the 12v lead acid battery is too small. It doesn't need to start the car engine so toyota have made this battery smaller and have gone to far!!
