Issues with connectivity to cloud…

Issues with connectivity to cloud started on 27th November now after 16 days and repeated failed call backs and 10 hours on the phone to a combination of digital services and customer services in the UK i am still being told my car isn’t connecting to the cloud, digital services REFUSE to escalate to technical (as they promised they would do on 27/11) and I need to speak to UK Customer service - UK Customer service tell me they can’t escalate it to technical and speak to digital services
We then get promised call backs but they don’t happen ring up and ask to speak to someone else and told the case can’t be passed to anyone but the person it’s assigned too - I have now requested all call recordings (although I was promised these today but that hasn’t happened) and also now escalated to executive office in UK i did this by contacting the CFO of VW Financial Services who actually called me and agreed it was “shocking service” and they would escalate it to the executive office of VW UK customer service and I’d hear from them today - still waiting for that call back
Dealership can help but if they find NO fault I will need to pay - yet VW admit ny car isn’t connecting to the cloud but refuse to send an email to say they will cover the costs
Computer says no seems to be VWs answer
UPDATE - so after 17 days the executive office for VWUK have finally stepped in and arranged for my car to be inspected at my local dealer to determine if the fault is the car or software or nothing - the executive office person was extremely helpful and actually cared about me as a customer let’s hope the promises are delivered on - will update in due course

Remember Dieselgate,VW haven't changed at all

I bought a brand new VW Touareg Black Edition diesel 6 months ago.I have only covered 1400 miles from new and now have an issue with it.It's burning Engine Oil like it's going out of Fashion-i've never had a car do anything like this.A colleague in the Motor Trade did mention that it might only be whilst it's in the 'Running in'period. So I thought I'd ring the Dealer I bought it from for advice-apparently they don't know and would have to check it out and would probably charge £120 for the privilege,so much for Warranty!!!I rang VW UK to ask if this was a common problem with this model and she couldn't tell me and said I would have to pay them to check it out.
I can't believe that they have an issue with any particular Model they produce and don't know about it-oh hang on,they were involved in covering up Diesel Mpg a few years ago, must be inherent within this company.
Would I buy another Volkswagen-HELL NO!!!!!!

Owner of 5 VW Golf consecutively

Owner of 5 VW Golf consecutively. As soon as I drove the last one, 7 series, I could feel the difference in terms of quality and performance. So sorry for that. Last incident: clutch pomp defective. Even if 3y official warranty was expired for 5 days only, they didn't refund at all. It's with regret that I won't buy a VW car anymore. What a pity for such a good car in the past!

Worst vehicle

Worst vehicle. I bought a Tiguan in 2020 thinking it would be a reliable vehicle. It's proven to be the worst decision. Volkswagen corporate won't help. Dealers won't help. I'll be getting rid of this before I hit 50,000 miles. It's the worst car I've ever owned. The Tiguan has brake issues, you'll need 3,000.00 worth of repairs every 40K miles.

VW Polo GTI… SPIDERING ALLOYS!!

I have had an issue with my VW Polo GTI it’s gone less that 9k miles and it’s still I. It’s 3 year’s manufacturing warranty. All 4 alloys have got what it’s called spidering on and are basically ruined and would cost a fortune to fix. The dealership have washed their hands of me and so have VW hiding behind the fact it’s stone chips which will have caused this…. Extremely poor from such a big company who with their current reputation would think they would do there ups-most to keep customer not sell port quality good at high prices. These alloys were a £1000 optional extra that don’t last more than 3 years top top quality. DONT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY

Completely useless support from…

Completely useless support from we-support on electric car and We Connect application and myVolkswagen.

They are dragging you around requesting information that has nothing to do with the problems and providing no actual help at all.

They are requesting screen shots, version number of app. mobile phone software etc. even if you already have provided that together with a clear description of the problem.

Last problem was app not updating current charge, parked location etc.

The front support could already see that VW had server problems prior to the problem and no contact had been established with the car for around 2 weeks, but technical support just provided the "help" to park the car and come back after 15 min to see if the problem was resolved - which it of course wasn't. If that didn't help I was requested to provide new screen shots, mobile fw version and app version etc.

I did experience the same useless support with my ID.5 that couldn't change settings on the myVolkswagen website. They kept dragging me around the arena requesting info and screenshots from me instead of trying to solve the problem.

Don’t buy the atlas 2021

Purchased a Volkswagen 2021 Atlas not cheap.. Been having a issue since the first day of purchase.. Constant coolant smell, keep being told it’s normal. Well it’s not, if you have this car. You’re in for a disappointment.. The car manufacturer not telling anyone, but denying buy back. The service guy was finally honest. He told me. “Unfortunately the car cabin wall was made thin and that there’s no solution as of yet” buyer be aware!!!

We Connect will not allow joint…

We Connect will not allow joint ownership. So I put the VW Furer concept of ownership in my wife's name of course. And when I drive I log in as a guest. But as a guest you can't even see if the car is charging at all.
And when I log in as my wife, it won't allow me to see the charging information becuase I'm logged in to the car as me.
If I log in as my wife both on my phone and the car, I get stupidly incorrect information on the miles that the char has charged to. Total disaster of a piece of software.

Poor quality and terrible service

I purchased a new VW ID3 for my wife in Sept. 21. having done just over 7500 miles in just over 12 months it was recalled for a new vehicle battery and a software upgrade. I was rang in the afternoon of the day I dropped it off to be told that all 4 Bridgestone tyres needed replacing!!!

Never in my wildest dreams would I expect to have to replace all 4 tyres on a vehicle at such low mileage unless there was either a fault with the car or the tyres.

I have been discussing the issue with both the retailer (Johnsons Volkswagen and VW customer services direct (as Johnsons have proved to be useless - I need to do a specific review on just haw bad they've been).

My intention is now to take VW and/or Johnsons Volkswagen to the small claims court. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 clearly states that all products should be fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time, irrespective of what VW’s warranty states. I don’t think anybody could call 7500 miles ‘a reasonable length of time’ to be told that all 4 tyres need changing on an ID3!!

As I’ve previously outlined to both Johnsons and VW the car has never been driven other than ‘normally’ and well within its limits. I was never told to expect to change the tyres at such a low mileage prior to purchasing it and neither is it stated clearly in any of their sales literature. If I had been told that if I averaged around 18,000 miles per annum I should expect to have to put 2 new sets of tyres on the vehicle every year I would never have purchased it!!

The reasoning provided by both Johnsons and VW that electric cars are heavier and produce more torque than 'normal' vehicles does not provide a satisfactory argument against the poor quality of the car and/or Bridgestone tyres that are fitted.

I have a close neighbour who also has an ID3. It’s a more powerful model with a larger battery pack. Therefore, heavier and capable of producing greater torque than the model I have. His vehicle was fitted with an alternative make to Bridgestone tyres. At a much greater mileage than my vehicle had done there is no sign of his tyres needing to be replaced!!

If you search some of the forums on the internet (as I have) there are many ID3 owners having similar issues, generally with the Bridgestone tyres. If I was conspiracy theorist (which I’m not) I might be forgiven for thinking VW know of this issue but are choosing not to act.

Another disappointment from VW…

Another disappointment from VW Marshalls St Albans Dealer, after agreeing with Charlotte over 4 weeks ago to get our automatic vehicle booked for diagnostics and requested for an automatic car loan car due to health reasons. I was forced to take a manual car 😡. If you knew you could not provide an automatic car as agreed why book our car in the first place ???
The gentleman booking in our vehicle told me they only had 8 loan cars and all manual.
This is unacceptable. I will not be coming back again. Please avoid if you can.

We Connect app caused a critical problem VW could not resolve

Hi, yesterday I had a critical problem with my VW Passat 2022 that Volkswagen failed to resolve.
I was configuring We Connect app on my iPhone. In the process I was asked to press buttons on both keys. After this, I left both keys inside the car. Then, after configuring the app, I closed the car with my iPhone from the outside - and it worked. However, when I tried to open the car with the iPhone I got a message that I need to complete the Volkswagen Ident process with IDNow service. However, the IDNow service did not respond for several hours. I called local Volkswagen, but they said that they could not help and advised me to call Emergency Opening service. This worked: the guy used two inflatable pads and a long metal rod to press the OPEN button on one of the keys. This cost me EUR 150.
Summary: 1) the car by no means should close with BOTH keys inside; 2) the LOCK function from the phone app should not work when the UNLOCK function is not possible

Contempt for customers

Hello everyone. I've had my three door Up GTI for just over a year now. About 4 months ago whilst driving along I started to get a progressively worsening clunk everytime I changed gear. After a few minutes of this getting worse I pulled the car over and rang the AA. The mechanic thought it could be the rear engine mount and tightened it up which seemed to improve things. I put it in to Inchcape in Chester and they stripped the mount, inspected it and found no issue. About 6 weeks later I pulled up at a junction and it started making the same clanking noise from the engine bay and I could feel a thumping through the footwell. Again I contacted the AA, again the mechanic couldn't pinpoint the fault. I booked it into Inchcape Chester again but due to an 11 day lead the the fault had gone away by the time the appointment came round so I never bothered taking it. Finally about 3 weeks ago I came out of the supermarket and put it in reverse and it sound like the gearbox was going to fall out. I drove it home and the thumping and clank every gear change was back. I've put it into Inchcape, again had to wait 11 days by which time the fault had disappeared again. They said they can find no fault with the vehicle. During all of this I have contacted VW customer services about 7 or 8 times and it's basically back to square one every time. All the while my warranty is ticking down. I have escalated it with customer service and have been told a more senior representative will call me back. I've been told this on three separate occasions and guess what, I've not had a call from them yet. This is the third Up I've bought in four years, my daughter and wife have one. My daughters has been great. My wife's developed a brake problem and went into Inchcape Wirral to be repaired. They said it had been fixed but 3 weeks later the fault returned. The AA mechanic who attended said not to drive the car as the brakes could fail. It went back into Inchcape Wirral and they diagnosed and replaced a leaking master cylinder. I think the first time they just topped up the brake fluid and gave my wife back a car with a potentially fatal fault on it. I dread to think what might have happened if the brakes failed at high speed. I'm worried that the fault on my Up could also cause a catastrophic failure. Inchcape admitted that since they can't diagnose the problem they are unable to rule that out. I feel that I have been extremely shoddily treated by both VW customer services and Inchcape. I feel like it's a case of we've had your money now go away. It's highly unlikely I'll be buying another VAG vehicle and I certainly would not recommend them.

Stay away from VWs

Words fail me when it comes to describe my experience with VW. My car (Tiguan 2018) is subject to a recall due to issues with the sunroof which means it is letting vast amounts of water in. When taken to Alan Day Hampstead, was advised that it wasn't a problem caused by the recall issue (blocked pipe) but another issue (also caused by a blocked pipe...) They want over a £1000 to repair and dry the car. It's at this point, my nightmare with Customer Services started. As the issue is effectively caused by the same part as the recall, I believe they should be liable for the cost. They were very sympathetic and said they would investigate. And then nothing. Despite repeated chasing via email, telephone and live chat for 2 weeks we are no further forward. In the meantime I am without a car which is sat doing nothing at Alan Day. To add insult to injury, Alan Day are now threatening to impose storage charges unless we can find a way forward. Finally made contact today to say they couldn't help. I have been driving VWs for over 20 years. Never again. And by the looks of it, reading all these reviews I'm not alone. Wouldn't be surprised if they go out of business in the next decade. Shocking cars and shocking customer service.

Spoil our new car by lack of instruction book.

Having just paid over £50k for an electric car I was staggered to find out that a handbook is not supplied by the manufacturer. I have been told that if I want one I have to search for it on the internet and download it myself. Pretty useless when away from home and wanting to find out how to use something. This is just penny pinching and unworthy of a notable manufacturer.

67tkm Volkswagen Caddy engine broke

67tkm Volkswagen Caddy engine broke
I have Volkswagen Caddy - I bought new one and now it is a bit more than 3 years old and 67000 km driven. Car has been always serviced at Volkswagen authorized company.

Engine just broke and Volkswagen tells I need to pay +800 euros to fix it. I asked them what I should have done to avoid this. They told you would have not been able to avoid this and this is just bad luck.

Arrogant brand. My friend just ordered new Volkswagen and we try to cancel purchase now.
