People experienced exceptionally long delays when trying to get a response or resolve troublesome issues with their purchases through support tickets. Many customers also noted that communication was completely unhelpful and basic accountability was unfortunately lacking during warranty claims. Some reviewers were happy with the overall service and found the staff extremely helpful when designing custom setups and buying parts. Other customers mentioned that the physical store layout was great, products worked well, and prices were genuinely among the best.

Don’t trust your money with them

I got 2 orders from them, one got sent all over the place due to old labels not being removed, express delivery took over a week metro.. the other was a monitor that was dead on arrival. It has been 3 weeks now for them to even admit it might be warranty issue.. I usually go through Umart for 20 years, will be going back to them from now on. Lessons learnt

time waster

Very slow response times to answer queries then by that time the original item was "end of stock" and now unavailable but similar one was at a higher price .Have used them before to purchase desktop so on mailing list but while they were polite, to and fro asking irrelevant questions was frustrating and made whole experience poor.

Very disappointed with Scorptec…

Very disappointed with Scorptec warranty handling

I've spent over $14,000 with Scorptec over the years buying PC hardware, and I've dealt with warranty claims before, so I understand that hardware can fail and that sometimes repairs take time.

This was a Sapphire RX 7800 XT, an expensive graphics card that developed a fault causing black screens and system restarts. I tested the system with another GPU and the issue did not occur. Scorptec accepted the card for warranty as a “Product fault.”

The warranty timeline was:

24 July 2026 – Claim lodged
25 July – Accepted as product fault
3 August – GPU received by Scorptec
10 August – Warranty approved, further assessment required
13 August – Sent to repair centre
24 August – Still in progress
31 August – Still waiting for repair centre
2 September – Ready to return

That's 40 days from lodging the claim and 30 days from Scorptec receiving the GPU.

Throughout the process I had to repeatedly contact Scorptec for updates. I was given an estimated 3–4 week turnaround, and continued receiving updates that the repair centre was still assessing the card.

Once the assessment was completed, I specifically told Scorptec by phone that I wanted a refund and did not want another RX 7800 XT.

This is where the biggest issue occurred.

Scorptec did not contact me to confirm what I wanted before making the final decision.

They did not get my consent to send a replacement.

They did not give me an opportunity to agree to the proposed resolution.

Instead, I was told that they would decide what was “best for me” and repeatedly referred back to me previously saying “replacement or refund”, even though during the actual conversation I was clearly asking for the refund.

I explained that I didn't want another 7800 XT because my original card had failed and I did not want to risk ending up with another card that could potentially fail later and put me through another lengthy warranty process.

That wasn't taken into account.

A replacement was chosen and dispatched without my agreement.

The whole conversation essentially came down to Scorptec deciding what they wanted to do and telling me that was the outcome, rather than allowing me any meaningful input into the resolution.

I was also told that any potential refund could be based on the current “fair value” of the card rather than necessarily what I originally paid. I asked what “fair value” meant and how it was being calculated because this was something I had never encountered in a warranty claim before.

The phone call itself was also extremely frustrating. I called around 10 minutes before closing, was asked to wait while the matter was discussed, and the conversation repeatedly went in circles about refund versus replacement. The call ended without resolving the matter in the way I had requested.

I've spent over $14,000 with Scorptec, not because I expect special treatment, but because I have been a long-term customer and expected a basic level of communication and respect when something went wrong.

I don't have an issue with Scorptec assessing a faulty product.

I don't have an issue with a repair centre being involved.

What I have an issue with is 40 days of waiting, repeatedly having to chase updates, not being contacted to confirm the final resolution, having my requested refund disregarded, and then having a replacement dispatched without my consent.

The biggest issue here isn't that the GPU failed.

It's that I wasn't allowed to have a say in what happened afterwards. I was told what Scorptec had decided was “best for me”, and that was effectively the end of the discussion.

That is extremely disappointing after being a customer who has spent over $14,000 with them.

bad customer service and faulty products

ummary: While Scorptec provided replacement components for faulty hardware under warranty, their customer service has been severely lacking, leaving me with an unusable product and no resolution despite multiple attempts to contact them.

The Issue:

I purchased a new PC and monitor from Scorptec on 25 August 2024. Within the warranty period, both the motherboard and monitor failed. I initiated the warranty claim and received RMA numbers (RA260608, NS 260133) for both items.

What Happened Next:

Over several weeks, I made multiple one-hour journeys to the Scorptec store to return the faulty components and collect replacements. Eventually, both items were replaced and appeared to be in working condition. However, there was a critical oversight: when the motherboard was replaced, the Windows license key needed to be re-entered to activate the operating system.

Ongoing Problem – No Resolution:

Despite the hardware being replaced, I still cannot use the PC properly without the Windows license key. Since the motherboard was swapped under warranty, the original key no longer works, and Scorptec should have provided me with either the original key documentation or a new license key as part of the replacement process.

Attempts to Resolve:

Made 4 separate calls to Scorptec customer service
Made 6 separate attempts to reach customer service – most went unanswered
Multiple staff members promised to follow up and send me the Windows key
No response has been received from any of these follow-ups

Zero after-sales support

Zero after-sales support

I bought and received a monitor from Scorptec. As soon as it set up, I saw that there were some issues that cause the screen to flicker and make crackling sounds. I've rung Scorptec - their Sales team will answer calls, but it's impossible to get hold of any after-sales support.

I will never buy from this retailer again.

Scorptec is the absolute pits!

Scorptec is the absolute pits!

I've been a customer for a number of years and always thought they were a step above other pc retailers.

I recently purchased a rx 9060 xt GPU from their online store. Long story short, it was severely faulty, resulting in uncontrolled power draw, and putting my PC at risk.

I submitted a warranty request, and I was told it would be 2 to 4 weeks after being received. Fast forward 1 month, and I haven't heard a thing from Scorptec. I tried messaging on the warranty ticket multiple times, and had no response. I tried calling their warranty team, their phone just auto hangs up after a few mins of on hold.

I end up having to submit a new request for assistance, at which point I just receive a refund. To add insult to injury, the refund is not to my payment method, but to their in store credit that can only be used by email or phone. There is also no acknowledgement of the amount of time I've been waiting for my warranty, or the fact they have absolute garbage customer service.

They've lost me as a customer

They cant or dont want to help. They just want the sale.

I have baught from them when they have shown to be the cheapest. At the time of me wanting to buy parts.

I rang them up asking what PSU I should upgrade to as im running a rm850x, he recommends me a be quiet 1000w.

I install it and start plugging cables in and realise it only has 6 cables to power my 8 SSD...... and only 2 molex on the one cord so can only reach 1 point.

I have wasted time speaking to them through emails where they only answer 1 question. And dont bother answering the rest of the email.

I call them up and they tell me they will reply via email.

If your buying from these guys, make sure you do research as they cant or dont want to help.

Ya get what ya pay for. I tried to save a few bucks and now I have cost my self 3 to 4 weeks.

Good in-store experience, terrible online support

I used to be a regular Scorptec customer when they had a store near my home. Their prices were good, and I was generally happy with the service there. After that branch closed, I started dealing with their online team, and the experience has been completely different.

Replies to emails and support tickets regularly take one or two weeks, and sometimes several weeks. With warranty tickets, I would often receive an automated message asking whether the issue had been resolved before anyone had actually replied to me. Responding would then start another long wait.

My last warranty issue became unnecessarily slow and complicated. After I complained about how it was being handled, they rejected the warranty claim and returned the faulty item to me. Every message during the process took another week or two, which made the whole experience extremely frustrating.

I was a loyal customer for years, but I will not shop with Scorptec again. There are other computer retailers that respond much faster and are far more helpful when something goes wrong.

Company renegged on agreed resolution to dispute

I had a faulty hard drive that i took to Scorptec to have evaluated and replaced. At the time i returned the hard drive for review, i purchased a replacement.

The hard drive was confirmed faulty and a replacement offered. In discussion with their agent i accepted reimbursement for the replacement hard drive i had purchased when dropping off the faulty one. This was agreed to by their agent. When it came time for the refund, i was then advised they would not be refunding me the replacement cost, they would only reimburse me the ORIGINAL cost of the faulty hard drive.

I confirmed this was NOT the agreed resolution and requested the replacement hard drive be sent. The agent then advised they would 'look into it' and get back to me. That was 3 months ago. All follow up requests have been ignored.

My gaming community has now confirmed we will all be moving our business to centercom - not our preference and a little further out of our way, but we have never had this kind of deception from their end.

Regional delivery

I have had a lot of trouble with their customer service in the past, but my biggest gripe is "free delivery" to metro areas. Because when you're in regional areas, they charge about 4x the rate I can get sending the package to them. Are regional customers covering the cost of metro deliveries? It's pretty slimey, unfortunately most of the PC gear companies in Australia do the same thing, unless you buy through Amazon, then it's free!
So forget the little guy, if you can buy it from Amazon you get the same service (none) and free delivery!

Absolute jokers

Absolute jokers. Do not order from this company. I ordered a Mac Mini in May. When I ordered I thoroughly checked a number of suppliers to see who had stock. Scorptec advertised item this as in stock. I even paid for express postage so I could get it ASAP. After I had ordered it, the next day I received an ETA of a week later. Whilst I was annoyed, that was not too bad. Then the day before it was due to ship, the ETA was pushed out another 4 weeks to June. Then a few days before the revised June ETA, it was pushed to early July. Now it has been pushed out again to late July. They never give a reaonable answer, just say it is their suppliers. This really means they are nothign but glorified drop shippers and don't hold stock. Do yourself a favour and do not order from these clowns. Totally crap customer service and never answer the phone and never retun a call. Only give half backed responses via their web site. Just terrible. I am reporting them. What absolute muppets.

Scorptec sent me a broken motherboard then refused to redund

Scorptec sent me a broken motherboard. When I tried contacting support, I was on hold for over an hour with no answer, I tried multiple times.

I ended up paying an external PC store to test it, who confirmed it was broken. When I returned it to Scorptec, they claimed it was broken because of the way I returned it, despite me having a report from that store stating it was already faulty.

Now they're refusing a refund.

Unbelievable customer service

Unbelievable customer service. I had to go all the way to VCAT just to get a refund approved, and Scorptec still managed to short-pay the final amount. If they do not fix this immediately, I am taking it straight back to VCAT for non-compliance.

They originally tried to offer a "market value" refund instead of the full original invoice value, which violates ACL Section 54 (Acceptable Quality) and Section 259/263 (Remedies for Major Failures). Absolute joke of a company to deal with when things go wrong. Avoid..

I’ve been using scorptec for 20+ years…

I’ve been using scorptec for 20+ years for parts, peripherals, drives, and last year I worked with them to custom build a 32 core 256gb ram and 30tb drive space
The support I received in designing the setup and sorting the pros and cons of options was just awesome
A year later it’s doing all the data processing and running multiple wildfire simulations
What’s more it’s been great value for money and the support has been great when needing to make minor additions. Previously I would have just gone to Dell or HP and tried to spec something up. I did try this 12 months ago and looked at other high spec build local companies. I then gave scorptec an email and a month later had the machine delivered. All boxes, manuals, peripherals included. Happy customer!!

At a sales level they are fine

At a sales level they are fine, but when it comes to warranty and repairs that are appalling. Trying to reach them on the phone is a waste of time. When you finally drive all the way to drop off the faulty equipment, for which I paid for an extended warranty, I am given the run around about how their receiving the laptop does not constitute any liability in their part. So it’s 3-4 weeks before I find out what they are going to do and another 3-4 weeks if they decide to repair the laptop. Nothing customer focussed about this business. Officeworks, JBHiFi and Harvey Norman are much better options.
