How does Rakuten work?
Getting Cash Back rewards from Rakuten is easy. Simply sign up for a free account, and then start shopping on the Rakuten website, through the Rakuten app, or by downloading the Rakuten browser extension. Money gets added to your Cash Back balance when you shop at an affiliate store. You can then get paid via PayPal or check. If it seems too good to be true, here’s how it works: Companies in Rakuten’s affiliate network pay us commissions whenever one of our members shops with them, and we share those commissions with you as Cash Back.

What stores can you shop at?
Many stores and companies are part of the Rakuten affiliate network, from big-box stores such as Target and Walmart to websites such as Hotels.com and Upwork.com. Rakuten is expanding to all sorts of businesses so you can make money while eating at restaurants, planning trips, and fixing your car. Download the browser extension, Rakuten Cash Back Button, if you want to stay up to date on all the stores you can earn Cash Back with. It will highlight available offers in search results and alert you to store sites that are part of the affiliate network.
When will I get Cash Back?
Rakuten members get their earned Cash Back every three months. Stores will verify with us that the order was complete when you purchase with them, which can take a few hours to a few days, depending on the store. Once the purchase is verified, we’ll let you know Cash Back has been added to your account. Any order that’s still pending on payday will be added to the next payment cycle.

I really love using Rakutan but I wish it was easier to use on the phone
I really love using Rakutan to make purchases online. The only problem is when I use my phone for purchasing items I forget to go to the Rakutan app and so the purchase is not recorded for cash back. It happens when I use the retailers app to purchase.

Subpar
Subpar. Delays in obtaining cashback. In this digital age, it doesn't take long to confirm purchases. On top of it, the cashback is so small that if it doesn't meet the $5 threshold, it's delayed until the next payout. If you have a choice with going with another e-store (like Aeroplan for Canadians), choose that as the response time is 100 times faster for reward confirmation and payout.

LOVE rakuten
LOVE rakuten! I have been receiving money back from them for a long time. It is not always big money but it is money back. You can get good money back if you have an expensive purchase. I have done that a couple times.
Open Rakuten and there are large lists of businesses that offer cash back. I love it

Fraud company
Fraud company. They made me refer friends and do a purchase over $50 to earn $50 cashback. After doing all the steps, when it was finally there time to payout, they terminated my accounts and all my friends accounts and never paid back anything. Don't waste your money here!

Been using Rakuten for a few years and…
Been using Rakuten for a few years and the cash back tracks on almost every order, then the big check comes in February like clockwork. One purchase missed but they added it after I sent the receipt.

I am Disappointed
Well, for one thing the length of time to receive the product was quite long. Secondly, I am not particularly happy with the items I purchased because I believe they are of inferior quality. In the past, when I had dealt with Zulily, I never experienced these two issues. I’m actually questioning if Zulily is still the original one I dealt with or if they have changed hands. Either way, I doubt I will continue to be a customer given my current experience.
