Kennys Bookshop Reviews 

I placed an order for several books, including one particularly expensive that I specifically asked them to pack very carefully to prevent damage during the shipment. They assured me not to worry and promised they would protect it; however, the books were shipped in cardboard envelopes, and the most expensive one was damaged during shipment. I have reached out to them with the pictures, but they are not responding to my messages.

I placed an order with Kennys Bookshop on 3 October 2026 for a hardcover edition of The Remains of the Day, paying €36.39 including international shipping.

As of 27 October, my order is still marked as "In processing", with no dispatch confirmation or estimated shipping date.

On 10 October, a member of staff contacted me to explain that their system could not process the Chinese characters in my shipping address. I replied within minutes with my complete address in English.

Unfortunately, I have received no further confirmation that my address has been updated or that my order can proceed.

Since then, I have contacted Kennys multiple times, including through my registered Outlook email, an alternative Gmail address, and the official website contact form. I have only received automated acknowledgements, with no substantive response from customer service.

I understand that international orders and supplier availability can sometimes cause delays. However, what I find most disappointing is the lack of communication. I have no way of knowing whether my book is in stock, whether my shipping address has been accepted, or when my order might be dispatched.

I would still prefer to receive the book rather than cancel my order, but I believe customers deserve clear and timely communication, especially when an order has been delayed for several weeks.

I hope Kennys will look into this issue, confirm the status of my order, and provide a realistic dispatch date.

Bought a second-hand book from Kennys via AbeBooks website. Good value, very reasonable postage and properly packed. Arrived in perfect condition and exactly as described, complete with bookmark!

Placed order Sep. 23, via Amazon, but item never arrived. No book, no money back. Do not order here its obviously a scam shop. 😐

Placed an order for 1 item on the 24th September. Item was listed as having a shipping time of 5-9 working days. 20 days later (14 working days) it still has not been sent. I have contacted them numerous times and been fobbed off with various excuses, delayed transit times and most recently told that a shipment had arrived which might contain my order. Emailed again yesterday and no response since. Please avoid shopping here as you cannot rely on any of their shipping timeframes or timely communication

Hopefully, I'm finished with Amazon and can buy local. Books are a similar price and sometimes cheaper and delivery is free, maybe sometimes a little slower but this is a small price to pay for supporting local industries. We know it's difficult to compete with the multi nationals but personally I'm willing to accept minor shortcomings if they occur.

They have every book under the sun and their free shipping is very generous. I forgot to order something and did not have to pay any an extra fees which was great! I was so surprised to find a niche comic I’ve been looking for being sold at Kenny’s, it went straight to my cart along with some other goodies I didn’t expect finding aswell. Took around 2 weeks to get here which I didn’t mind. A simple email let me know that they were waiting on one of my items to arrive to their shop, then after shipping it took only a day to arrive. It takes a day or two to get back to me on email which I think communication should be a bit more direct but other than that it was a pleasant experience ordering from Kenny’s and I definetly will again soon!

I don't know if this company can improve it's services.

I've often had problems with international deliveries to Lithuania for some reason, but this was a pleasant exception. The order arrived in good time, in pristine condition and exactly as advertised. Price was great too.

The book had some visual defects (from the beginning, not damagend during the shipping). Beware if ordering as a gift.
Except that, good service and fast shipping.

Used them for years. Incredible service every single time, even when the postal service screws up. Perfect!

I love this bookstore! Delivery can sometimes take a little while, but it’s so worth it! I can get any book there! I’m also often able to get the US cover version (which can be quite important to me).
I also love trade paperbacks and while I often can only find regular paperbacks elsewhere, they have all the different formats. More than once have I been able to order a book here that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else!
Packaging and quality is also always flawless! 100% recommend!

I ordered 2 books from Kennys to Spain and they arrived in no time and very good quality. The whole experience was great and I will definitely order again!

Ordered a book which arrived in just under a week. The book was in excellent condition and the process was very smooth. So happy to have found a well priced local bookshop - looking forward to going to them for all my future book needs 😊

2 weeks to get 2 books, one of which has enough grime and frayed edges that I'd think it was used if not for the spine having no creases.

Book arrived quickly and in great condition. They also didn't use an ungodly amount of packaging like I've seen with other independent sellers so that's another plus.

Ordered Friday night shipped Saturday here Tuesday, great service can’t believe I have only found. Even free delivery for that service is great. Will defo be repurchasing.

I found this store online when trying to complete some of my older graphic novel collections. They've an excellent range available and at great prices. I'm ordering from the uk and delivery has always been within 5 to 7 days

I've had nothing but good experiences with Kennys. I'll admit, sometimes it might take 'em a lil' while to ship (though they're up front about it, saying how some books can take up to 20 days to ship). A large selection, wonderful service, they're hard to beat. I've ordered with them near ten times without issue.

If I'm being frank, I'm wondering how many of the negative reviews relate more to the piss-poor post service of some people's countries and not Kennys.
