Update from Angela's husband — the nightmare continues.
We invested significantly in a new bathroom, installed by Brugman's subcontractor in August 2024. Less than 19 months later, water was literally raining onto the electrical panel below the bathroom. We lost electricity in several rooms and the panel is still damaged (only patched) creating a safety risk we live with every day.
Brugman's position has been to attribute everything to a 'sealing defect' with a 1-year warranty. What they won't acknowledge: there is rust and mould in the wooden frame behind the panel, which proves the water had been filtering through long before the day it became a flood. The root cause is a known-defective drainage system — the installer himself admitted this model causes problems for other customers. After multiple failed attempts, it is obvious that the drainage system had never been properly sealed at first installation.
Our home insurer had no doubt that Brugman's warranty applied. Dutch law (Art. 7:17 BW) presumes that a defect appearing within 2 years existed at installation. Our home insurance confirmed in writing on 29 April 2026 that Brugman had agreed to handle the damage under warranty. Days later, Brugman reversed that position.
The installer visited at least five times. Nothing worked until the drainage system was completely resealed from scratch. After the last fix, the leak appears resolved, but we have no guarantee that the leak will reappear again, no repaired electrical panel, and now an invoice from the installer asking us to pay €745, claiming it was just a sealing defect.
We have been patient, respectful, and collaborative throughout. The response has been delay, evasion, and now an invoice. We are exhausted, anxious about the electrical risk, and we have filed a formal dispute via UitgesprokenZaak.

I had a very disappointing experience with Brugman Roermond and feel compelled to share my story so others are aware of how the process actually works.
From the beginning, I was given the impression that pricing transparency would be provided clearly and that I would receive a detailed breakdown of the offer. This was an important factor for me, as the total price of around €20K is not something you commit to without understanding what you are paying for.
Despite this, getting clear information turned into a constant struggle. I visited the showroom multiple times, made several phone calls, and repeatedly asked for clarification on the pricing. Each time I was either given incomplete answers or no meaningful follow-up at all. At one point, the advisor even sent the 3D design to the wrong email address, which further delayed the process.
After around 10 days of trying to obtain a proper breakdown, I still had no clear understanding of what was included in the price. No measurement had been done, no production had started, and no supplier orders had been placed. I decided to cancel — my reasoning was simple: if I cannot clearly understand what I am paying for, I cannot proceed with a €20K purchase.
Instead of understanding my position, Brugman sent an invoice for €1,850 in cancellation costs — a fee that had never been clearly explained during our discussions, and for a kitchen that had never progressed beyond the initial sales stage. When I disputed the amount and asked for justification, they refused, citing "business confidentiality."
After months of back-and-forth emails, the case was eventually settled for €1,000.
What I found most disappointing was not the money — it was the attitude. Basic questions about pricing were ignored for weeks. A customer who genuinely wanted a kitchen was pushed away by a lack of transparency, and then penalised for leaving.
If you are considering Brugman(I hope you really really considered everything): make sure everything is documented in writing (any promise or information come out from the advisor) before you sign. Ask for a full price breakdown before committing. And do not sign on your first visit — something I was not given the chance to avoid.

A nightmare. We spent a lot of money in the bathroom. The materials were good and the design fancy but the construction was very poorly done. We had water leaking in less than 2 years of a new construction and they were trying to avoid responsibility of severe damage by claiming a one year warranty in sealing. We are still fighting and very likely to win. Advise: make sure you are familiar with Dutch law if you proceed with them.

We were shopping around for a kitchen when we saw Brugman Keukens en Badkamers and decided to walk in just to look around. Adri approached us, showed us around, and we decided to sit down and talk about what we were looking for.
He was simply amazing — he helped us find the perfect kitchen within the budget we had in mind. Adri is an outstanding salesman; he knows what he’s talking about, listens carefully to what the client wants, and has great energy.
For anyone looking to buy a new kitchen, we highly recommend going to Adri — he truly goes above and beyond to help his clients. We had an amazing experience buying our new kitchen and can’t wait for it to be installed in our new home!

We bought bathroom from Brugman 2 years ago. The service and installation were good, but not the "house brand" bathroom furniture and appliances. First bathtub drain plug was leaking-the sealing rubber was replaced. Then shower door stooped closing in about 1 month after installation- that was fixed for free after some correspondence. Then tops of drawers under the sink went loose, because these tops are always wet due to the sink design. They came and glue them, but now they are loose again, so we put sticky tape over them. Now mirrors are getting oxidized because they are not special bathroom mirrors. This they don't wanna fix, they just give us 20% discount to buy new ones. So, you get this kind of stuff for around 20K all together. Next time we just go to Ikea.
Update from Feb 21 2025. After some correspondence it was concluded that our bathroom has "extreme" environment for Brugman house brand furniture and mirrors (e.g. high humidity). Also mirrors from Brugman house brand can't be cleaned by Glassex (cleaning agent for glass and mirrors), instead I guess you should use morning dew or tears of a unicorn. No refund, no warranty.

The kitchen was designed not taking into account all the measurements and it was too large for the space. The mechanic had to make adjustment on spot to make it functional. To correct the measurement mistakes huuuge waiting time, 7 weeks, just to replace a side panel and a countertop. Costumer service just say they can’t do anything because it’s up to the supplier. So you pay full ammount upfront at the delivery and then wait months to get the product you payed for! On top of that, after the 7 weeks they bring another piece that is the wrong size. Costumer service again not helpful (even rude)-called to make an appointment and just hung up on me while pointing out that it is unacceptable to wait another 4 weeks just to get an appointment for mistakes they have made. Overall a very stressful experience.

Buyer Beware!
The store in Wateringen does not stand behind their product once you’ve signed the contract and committed to the purchase. I have had problems with the €35K kitchen I purchased from them. After getting nothing resolved with the gentleman (Ray)who designed our kitchen I asked to speak to the store manager Tamara. I was put through to her and after voicing my complaints Tamara responded that I should take it up with the service department because if you go to Albert Heijn (local supermarket) you don’t complain to the cashier. So the store manager equates purchasing a €35.000,00 kitchen with buying groceries at the supermarket. My complaints issues haven’t been resolved yet but when/if they do there will be a follow up to my review. In the meantime BUYER BEWARE!

This company gives you a good advice when you are in the process of buying.
But when it comes to service when something shows up they are very well trained to give you none helpful answers. ‘Make a picture of the problem’ (in this case a scratch in the induction heating). ‘We have looked at it and compared it to our own photos. It was not seen on our photo, so no guarantee. Try to use your own insurance to solve this’
My advice to all of you: shop at Brugman for comparison with the competitors, but NEVER buy at Brugman. If you have a problem, they will NOT cooperate with you and you will get frustrated
Update (Juli 1st):
I would like to respond to the comments of Brugman shown below but this seems not possible.
Therefore this update: Nothing has happened so far. No respond from 'the supplier' - in this case Etna - (Yet)
Only advice from Brugman so far: 'contact your insurance for a solution'
I stick to my recommendation: don't buy at Brugman. You will be (and stay) disappointed when something shows up

8 weeks. Bathrooms is still leaking left and right, and we were just told that “we’re going to close the file” ok then. Why do you even bother checking in if you don’t care.
We’re now in touch with customer service and the contractor, will update after.

The Sales people were helpful and friendly in the beginning. Good range of products. Good design advice.
However on the build day, their contractors informed us the wrong items had been sent for part of the kitchen. We also had some very disappointed 'dead space' in the kitchen that no-one informed us about and they just covered it up with a panel which could have easily been a cupboard. It has taken 3 months, talking to multiple customer service people, having 3 different technicians come to visit our flat who all also told us what we were sent was wrong. We are now waiting for another month for installation of 3 shelves. 4 months in total to install three shelves and electrical sockets in the kitchen and to come up with a solution for the cupboard dead space. Would have liked this to be sorted much sooner and communication be a lot quicker, clearer and direct.
On a plus side, their bathroom contractor (Robin) was absolutely brilliant, such great attention to detail. Super happy with the bathrooms.

What worked:
The crew from Keukenman who installed the kitchen.
Minor inconveniences in the installation were addressed professionally by Brugman support services.
What I didn't like:
* The initial engagement was fine, but in terms of advise in designing the kitchen, I'd score a 6 out of 10.
* The number crunching to get a final price is ridiculously obscure and pricing is far from transparent. You won't get an actual quote that is itemized, just a bulk price. Discounts are randomly applied on the fly.
* The kitchen equipment inventory available to choose from is not easy to get to browse in one's personal time to make a more informed decision on costs/needs
* Communication in general was fine when we were at Brugman, but online communication was sub-par. It was either informal or through email, but the emails did not follow a thread or case number, so it was really hard to follow. I received multiple emails, different subjects, even when raising a claim for issues in the process.
* We had committed to the dismantling of the kitchen and the installation of the new one in a specific week. I got a call saying that it was not possible to dismantle the kitchen, so I either had to do it myself and I could get Brugman's dismantling cost deducted, or we had to move the whole project. This was terribly painful, as I had a commitment with contractors for the piping, electricity work and whatnot in preparation for the kitchen and as required by Brugman. I raised the claim but it was completely disregarded, no compensation of any sort, and I had to go chase another contractor who was available in the new offered date, and also re-schedule my time out of the house with the family so the work could be done and we could have the needed facilities to cook.
Conclusion:
I wouldn't recommend Brugman as something special. It's just another kitchen company, and I'm not sure there's much added value compared to IKEA.
I'm no longer planning to consider Brugman for my bathroom renovations.
