All good, professional service. I'm not giving it 5 stars because the car was delivered a few kilometers before its service, and evidently no one checked the oil level. On the second day, the water te... See more

We had to wait 2 hours for a car at Dublin Airport with Newway Car Rental. The service was terrible, no answers on how long it was going to take and no support from any of the rental agency staff. I recommend everybody to never rent a car with Newway in Ireland.
Excellent service other providers can learn a lot from New way
Katie in Dublin airport was really efficient
Thank you
Excellent service from the beginning the man on reception desk in the airport was superb and the overall ease to receive and return was very straightforward.
Nothing was difficult at all. Easy to book, easy to pick up, easy to return. Good price for the full coverage, no hidden charges or costs. Just such a good feeling to know that we won't get any kind of fall back afterwards.
The car was clean and well looked after.
The service at pick up and return was exceptional. Both guys were more than helpful and we felt that they genuinely cared about our questions and concerns.
Two weeks ago I rented a car from NewWay and had cause to complain about its condition. I received an apology by email (as well as on this platform) and was told that a note would be placed against my next car hire which I returned today. Unfortunately there was no improvement to the vehicle that I was presented with. Once again it had dents, scratches and a mileage in excess of 120,000 Km. If I was paying less with NewWay than other car hire companies I could perhaps understand, but the fact is the NewWay rates, whilst “all inclusive” are no cheaper than their competitors once you factor in their additional insurance charges. I think you just receive the dregs of the cars that have outlived their time at the Avis Budget Group. NewWay’s previous excuse was that August is a busy month and car stocks are low. Fine, if that’s the case and you are renting out cars that are way past their best then lower your prices accordingly.
Thank you for your reply. You may not be aiming for these standards but you are most certainly hitting the bullseye every time. I’d be interested to hear what someone who actually investigates the situation has to say rather than a standard brush off response.

Having read the mostly positive reviews and the fact that NewWay is meant to be a new Irish car hire company with no strings attached re insurance hassle, I went ahead and booked.
As mentioned, the big draw with this company is that it does not try and hassle you with additional insurance selling BUT when you take into account that the cost of hiring through NewWay, it is considerably higher than the other companies. So you need to weigh up your desire for no hard sell on insurance versus cost.
Also the impression given is that you are dealing with an Irish company but actually everything is handled by Avis which includes collection and drop off.
I went to the NewWay desk ('shared' with Avis) and was told to get the shuttle bus to the Avis collection area 5 mins away. Collection was uneventful other than the condition of the car was dreadful. Worn tyres, alot of scratches and dents and the seats were all stained. This meant I had to spend 5 minutes taking photos of the whole vehicle as I saw lots of others doing. There is no excuse for this and it has completely put me off dealing with NewWay again. If they are going to launch a new car hire company then at least have nice clean and unmarked cars for your customers to rent.
The vehicle return process was laborious and again was to 'Avis' and not NewWay. You had to wait by your car until someone came to you as I was curtly told by one of the Avis returns staff. Allow at least half an hour and possibly an hour for this process, particularly if it's busy.
Overall a disappointing experience and well below my expectations.

I’ve rented cars before and always felt nervous taking the car and returning
But this time it was so nice to meet very kind staff who took care of everything picking up the car and especially on returning to the airport
And Edel was so helpful with correspondence before booking the car
All I can truly say it’s first class service
Generally okay, but nothing that stands out from other car hire companies except that there is no hard sell for extra insurance. NewWay desk was closed at the airport so we were directed to use Avis and had to stand in queue with the crowded Avis counter. We did not get the hybrid car I ordered. The return of the car was terrible, again, we had to use the Avis counter. It was busy, there was no proper queue and the customers were dealt with in a haphazard and ad hoc manner so some people were dealt with out of turn - unacceptable especially at an airport where people had to catch flights. The staff were hassled and some were quite rude when I (nicely) pointed out (several times to different staff members) we were waiting for a long time.

Excellent value for money. I loved the all-inclusive package so you know the price with full insurance from the start. Fast and friendly pick up service. Will definitely use again.

I was charged an extra day's rental fee because of a 31-minute difference between the time I signed the contract at their airport counter and the time their controller checked the car when I returned it. They didn't allow for the time it takes to collect the car after signing the contract (taking the bus to the parking lot, picking up the keys at the counter, and locating the car) or for the waiting time between arriving at the pick-up point and the controller's inspection. It's very disappointing for a rental company to engage in these practices.

Sent an email to new way asking if a seat ibiza mode came with a touchscreen infotainment system. This is the reply I got, which reads like a stock automated response. If your business is renting cars, how can you not know what features your cars provide as standard?
Reply:
"We can't guarantee a specific make or model of car will be available, nor can we guarantee any built-in features. Our cars are assigned based on what is available within the category of car that you have booked.
Most of our cars would have standard USB ports inside. You can speak with the staff when you arrive to collect the car, and they'll do their best to accommodate. "

Easy, quick and without any suprise all-inclusive car rental
A great experience. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the car rental process is simple. The services offered cover any issue, and the cars are clean and in good condition, both aesthetically and mechanically.
We rented a hybrid but the battery never got over 60%. So we essentially ran a gasoline car for 4 days but paid for a hybrid.
Insurance-included is a good option but didn't expect a sub standard car.

Excellent, seamless service. Would definitely recommend and will be using them again.
I've rented from NewWay a couple of times and have always been satisfied. The only thing that wasn't so great this time was the pickup and drop-off at a parking lot further out. There was no signage that NewWay customers could pick up their keys at a designated counter, so I spent almost half an hour in the Avis queue before realising I didn't have to. No information was given. At drop-off, there wasn't enough room to park, so staff was yelling at customers and trying to direct them. Then you had to wait beside your car for someone to come and check it - this was also not communicated. NewWay seems to be an afterthought to Avis and Europcar, with no signs and no dedicated staff at the car park. I had to ask around, losing precious time. Other than that, the experience was good - the car was clean and good quality, and I like that everything is included in the price and nobody is trying to sell me additional insurance.
