Straightforward, cheap. Their hosting was a great place to start but once my site grew I had to migrate over to Hostinger as they’ve got a more robust memory handling environment. Namecheap was a grea... See more

I bought a trial domain for $1.80. I didn't buy or activate anything else. But a month later, they charged me another $40 for email service for that domain, even though I hadn't asked for it. Bastards.

I recently switched 2 domains and associated emails from GoDaddy to Namecheap because of the ripoff in cost and support.
I haven't regretted it at all! Namecheap guided me though what I wanted and now I pay a fraction of the cost using my same email addresses and desktop software applications.

I have been using them for almost seven years and the platform is fairly good. What they lack is privacy and discretion.
What I mean is in this day and age of needing to be careful with our data and personal info, they just email you every year all your contact info and phone number like it's no big deal. I bought it up to them and they didn't care. I know my bank isn't emailing me all my personal info. And because they work for a hosting type company and are a bunch of computer dorks it's all cool. I think not. Also, some TLDs went up too much.

I have been a loyal Namecheap customer for over a decade, hosting my digital agency’s infrastructure, multiple SaaS platforms, and client portfolios with them. That loyalty apparently means nothing.
Due to a temporary credit card issue, my personal domain of 7+ years expired on June 8th. I resolved the billing issue on July 15th and attempted to pay the renewal. At that exact time, the post-expiration auction was still running and zero bids had been placed.
When I contacted support, the agent falsely told me the domain was "out of their access" and I had to wait for the auction to end. This was a direct violation of Section 4 of Namecheap's Domain Market Agreement, which explicitly guarantees the original owner the right to renew the domain at any time during the post-expiration period, regardless of the auction. Because their agent unlawfully blocked my renewal and forced me to wait, a squatter placed a last-minute bid the next day and Namecheap handed over my property.
The consequences of their staff's negligence are catastrophic. The squatter is now running a casino site on my domain, destroying 7 years of SEO authority. Worse, they have hijacked my email routing. My agency clients can no longer reach me, and the administrative access to my software platforms is at imminent risk of a massive account takeover.
Namecheap allowed an untrained agent to violate their own legal terms, handing the keys to my business and identity to a malicious actor. If management does not intervene to reverse this fraudulent transfer, I am migrating my entire portfolio to a competitor and escalating to ICANN.
Avoid Namecheap at all costs if your digital assets and security matter to your livelihood.

I just spent time getting my website security in order. The Rep who helped me over the chat (Ajay K.) was very helpful patient and professional. Ajay K. led me through all of the task that were difficult for me to understand and directed me to the knowledge base content that I needed. I can not be more grateful, Thanks for all the hard work and patience.

I was looking to switch my domain name to a provider that isn't into ripping off the buyer, and this one seems to be the real deal. The price did go up a lot one year and it made me wonder, but it's come right back down, so I'm staying.
