I cannot say if people there are genuine or not as the system did everything it could to prevent me from using the site.

First time I tried creating my account, got banned for using a VPN and my email address got locked out.
I created another one without a VPN and I got a working profile. I started using the site which looked fine, got a few matches. But before I could actually send messages, it asked for my phone number with no way to opt out or even keep using the website altogether, Meetic needed my phone number to function.
So I obliged, I got my account verified. I then asked for deletion of my phone number from my account, I got sent a message inviting me to delete my account.

I tried logging in again but my VPN was active at that time. My now second account is also locked.
Message received Meetic, I won't bother you anymore.

Don't use a VPN with this site, you'll be permanently banned. That's all I learned.

In just 2 days 5 “woman” were asking my telephone number. I gave once and then silence. Other times i asked theres and then also silence or they try to lure to vague email address at domain velanaoka dot com owned bij Robi in Germany. After the meetic profile vanished.
So very experience at meetic , be carefull!

Fake and expensive

SCAM! Do not give them your credit card info.
I explicitly cancelled my subscription and I received confirmation. Despite this, they still charged my card for another billing cycle. This is absolutely a scam and entirely unethical business practice. They hold onto your payment info and hope you won't notice the unauthorized charges. I am disputing the charge with my bank. Stay away!

There are thousands of profiles on Meetic but only a handful are paid up members you can register for free and brows profiles but with zero communication available, also on offer are lapsed profiles from people who don’t bother to delete after the contract is up.
They send me list after list of women’s profiles however 99% are not available for the reasons I have explained.

I did not knowingly sign up for Meetic, I signed up for Match.com in England. It’s a disgrace that companies can basically steal from you by basically abusing your trust as a consumer. I’ll never use Match.com again.

I am Dutch-speaking, but I am writing this review in English. It is expensive and full of fake profiles. When you send an email to the customer service, you get a standard reply. I see double profiles: the same photo, two different names, two different locations. If I can easily find these double profiles, why can't Meetic?!!!

Total scam and rip off. First it is expensive, then you can only communicate with other paying members, then the renewal is a pain to stop even if you remove your credit cards. I am sure I cancel it when first suscribing but it kept going on. It is very basic and some profiles are probably bogus. Stay away.

My experience with Meetic? Hm, where to start. I know I'm not Brad Pitt but i can't make a single connection with anyone. As soon as someone talks back, they say one or two things and stop talking. What's with the fake profiles full of scammers? They wanted me to give my number for WhatsApp with the pretense of not having the Meetic Pass to talk to me. That makes sense, not everyone wants to waste money on these apps. I mean, I bought the expensive pass once and I promise never again. Full me once shame on you. Full me twice, shame on me. Using this app made me even more depressed than I already am. 1/10

Terrible ! Extremely low quality and very expensive.
I have subscribed with meetic and paid nearly 50 € to find out that it doesnt respect the criteria entered plus most people contacting me over a week where only looking for "regular" night stands. Moreover when I asked to terminate my subscription I wasn't even refunded the whole price despite being within the 14-day period to retract myself.

Experience after a 6 months subscription.
Other than fake or un responsive profiles from uneven disparity to start with.
I found meetic to be nothing else than an overrated, over priced, a
tiny better than, perhaps tinder with eventually a fewer fake profiles. The reputation of being a serious and good online dating platform is a myth.

L'application de rencontre la plus nulle et avec 0 chances de match... Même les speed dating ne fonctionnent pas...

Satisfaction

Have been a member for a month now, have been trying to upgrade to the premium version from the basic for the past couple of weeks, but am unable to. There is no live agent to talk to . Too bad, I'll have to cancel my membership, poor software.
