Had a crap day at work and thought…

Had a crap day at work and thought spaghetti on toast with a fried egg was our go to after a bad day when we were kids (I'm 58). BIG MISTAKE. More bland sauce than spaghetti (it poured out of the tin. WTF??). It soaked straight through the toast and turned it into mush. Now I have to find another brand

Watties has always stood for quality

Watties has always stood for quality. I guess that when the food was prepared in New Zealand. When I was a child my father was the Watties rep for the East Coast. He was proud of the product that he sold. However that seems to have changed. This week I opened a can of red Doris plums. They are not cheap but I am willing to pay for a quality product. This can was anything but quality. I was horrified to find that I had a can which was more syrup than fruit. A few plums floating in a can of mostly syrup. I could not believe my eyes. James Watties would have been mortified to think that a product that bears his name was so substandard. I will have to wait until Summertime when hopefully I will be able to buy some raw black Doris plums and process them myself

Weird taste

I had Watties Spagetti for breakfast one morning, and it had a real weird taste to the sauce, nothing was wrong with can, I tell you it was gross, the sauce had a horible taste to it. Not what I remember when I was a kid. Very watered down sauce.
