After reviewing the INCI list of this Pimpant toothpaste (Erythritol, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Aroma, Sodium Fluoride, Rebaudioside A), we observe that while it successfully does without harsh sulfates, it still fails in two fundamental areas of toxicological dentistry:

Sodium Fluoride (1450 ppm): Functional medicine advises an absolute transition away from synthetic fluoride so as not to induce the underlying cytotoxicity it entails. It is important to remember that the massive vascularization of the oral mucosa ensures an ultra-fast absorption pathway into the bloodstream.

Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate: The brand uses these synthetic preservatives, which are on the list of harmful substances to be strictly avoided, as sodium benzoate can act as a strong allergen, dermal sensitizer, and systemic irritant. In the management of bathroom products, and especially to protect Jimena, the exclusion of sodium benzoate is an absolute priority, given that its irritating effects are particularly severe in children's products.

Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate: As a redeeming feature, the brand employs this acceptable plant-based surfactant, which is a much safer and gentler alternative to barrier destroyers like sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS).

I have not tried their products, but now I know this, I will not.

However, I wish they were different with a truely toxic free solution

Getting the product in the bottle to mix it up was not as easy as expected. In the advertising videos on the box (but not on the Spanish website) they show them using regular tap water. It does not dissolve well in room temperature water.

The toothpaste was ok, it does not leave your mouth feeling fresh and one can only hope it is actually cleaning. The shampoo takes a larger amount than expected to lather, so I'm sure I'll go through it really fast. Not impressed. On top of that the price is not the cheapest, sure you pay a premium for smaller companies but still.

One of the bottles for shampoo they sent me was defective and despite sending various videos and explaining how it was not working correctly they did not send me a new one, instead doubting whether I know how to actually use a bottle and requesting for more videos. Each video I take is additional product that gets wasted down the drain. I haven't had such a tough experience reporting a problematic online purchase in a very long time. Your competitors offer money back guarantees! (Edit: in the end, they offered to send a replacement, made an order for it, and it was never sent)

If they truly wanted people to consume less and produce less waste they should send better bottles and also indicate on their site clearly what is the exact volume of water to add for each product. Instead they say that while you can use other bottles, as they do not have the mark they cannot guarantee the product works. 6 EUR to buy yet another container when you could reuse an existing container.. and for it to not work correctly?

I don't know if I will make an additional purchase but as a first time customer this really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Edit: my purchase was from the Spanish site, where the instructions on how many ml to add is missing. Your colleague in the Spanish team would be able to tell you which is my order although I don't need compensation. If you read the email thread from the start to the end you will understand my frustration.

Service fantastic but after trying the product just realized that it’s not for me. Teeth doesn’t feel clean after cleaning with their paste. Instead look for traditional pastes with less of the bad stuff. There actually are decent ones out there that does a better work than Pimpanr
