I recently saw the advertisements for investing in PortaProfit. As a relatively new investor, the business immediately caught my attention. The initial investment and projected revenue numbers made the opportunity seem very attractive, so I scheduled a call because I wanted to better understand the business before making any decisions.
Unfortunately, the call left me severely underwhelmed.
I spoke with Cayden, and, to be completely candid, it was one of the least effective sales consultations I’ve experienced. I went into the meeting genuinely excited and prepared with a number of analytical questions. However, I found that she had a very difficult time answering them or adapting the conversation to the level of detail I was looking for.
There was essentially no presentation of what actually buying into PortaProfit looks like. I received no meaningful breakdown of the payment structure, long-term ROI expectations, available states or routes, operational responsibilities, financial performance, or what my actual role would look like as an investor.
Multiple times, I specifically asked to see things such as a formal pitch, relevant metrics, profit-and-loss information, available routes, and additional financial data that would help me evaluate the opportunity. Rather than providing those answers, I routinely received a nod or acknowledgment without an actual response to the question.
That was particularly concerning to me because I’m not looking to spend $35,000 based solely on a sales pitch. I’m trying to understand the underlying business, the economics, the risks, and exactly what I’m buying.
By the end of the call, I was left with more questions than answers and, more importantly, very little confidence in the person I was speaking with to explain the investment. If I’m going to trust a company with a significant amount of capital, I expect the person representing that opportunity to be able to confidently discuss the business model, financials, projections, and operational details.
I understand that it may have been late in the day, so I’m willing to give some benefit of the doubt. However, based solely on my experience, I would not recommend speaking with Cayden if you’re seriously considering investing in PortaProfit.
For context, I work in sales myself and consider myself a strong salesperson, so I don’t make the criticism of another sales professional lightly. Unfortunately, this was genuinely one of the least polished sales consultations I’ve experienced.
The business itself may very well be a legitimate and attractive opportunity. But after this experience, I was not given enough information or confidence to feel comfortable moving forward with a $35,000 investment.
