I use Sakura mobile for all my trips to Japan. I’m currently in Japan right now using Sakura mobile actually. Last year I had it shipped to my hotel and I would if you visit Japan always order it 3 days before your trip and wither your going to your hotel or picking it up at the airport? 3 days and it will be where you want it. Connection is very good and very cheap. Also if you go for 2 weeks at a time you do get a small discount so that helps save money. So right now I did use it and the puck had an issue so I contacted Sakura mobile customer service and they instantly helped me. I highly recommend them on your trips to Japan. We also ordered E Sims too and believe it or not it’s works great especially if you have android phones. So iPhone or android it don’t matter you will always get a good quality WiFi connection and customer service. Oh I went to Osaka, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Nagoya, Shizuoka and Tokyo and no matter where I was it worked great.

We found the ordering very easy but when the device was delivered to the hotel in Tokyo they couldn't find our booking, the Sakura representative messaged us & with afew more details everything was sorted & they kept us informed what was happening.
The device is easy to use & would definitely recommend

We used Sakura Mobile's pocket wifi for the third time during our 21-day trip to Japan. The quality of the internet service and the battery life have been excellent. This time I ordered an extra battery and insurance, which is highly recommended. The extra battery has allowed us to travel more peacefully and have a guaranteed connection at all times. Good customer service. They quickly resolved a problem I had due to my own mistake when setting up. I simply sent an email and everything was handled.

Terrible experience with this cellular provider. They also charged me for a full month of service even though I had already ported my number out. What a bunch of scammers. Do not trust this company.

Extremely solid data plan, provided me with very stable and fast internet through my journey in Fukuoka. And one of the only “no throttling at a certain limit” data plans out there. The only dips in speeds and connectivity I had were under tunnels on the metro, as well as deep in rural areas, all of which are unavoidable for any data plan. I wholeheartedly endorse getting plans from SakuraMobile if you want to travel in Japan and don’t plan sparing any expense in data connectivity.

As someone who moved to Japan and needed a Japanese phone number, Sakura Mobile was a life saver. The person who helped me spoke English well and took me through the process step by step and answered all my questions. He was patient and understanding. I was able to use an overseas Debit Card as well which really helped. I can't recommend them enough for others in a similar situation (at least the Shinjuku branch).

Initially, I only wanted to cancel my eSIM payment since my phone doesn't support eSIMs (and I mistakenly purchased the very option it doesn't support). They helped me switch to a physical SIM in a single day with no additional charges and even change my method of reception. And NOT ONLY THAT the support team was so delightful and empathetic through the entire process, I was so stressed at the outset and had both my SIM issue and mental state resolved by the end. Long live Sakura mobile may their name be hammered into the eons

I came across Sakura Mobile through the JET Programme because of their pop-up booth at orientation. I was a bit hesitant at first simply because there wasn't much time with our tight schedule, but I was impressed with how quickly I was able to set up a phone number, purchase a data plan, and also get a pocket wi-fi all in one quick sitting.

I had considered switching to a phone and internet service that was a bit cheaper once I settled in Japan, but after several trips around the country and my experience being placed in the countryside, I can confidently say that I am paying for quality service. Despite being in places that I wouldn't assume that connection could reach, Sakura Mobile's pocket wifi has found that connection and saved me when I needed to use Google Maps or my translate app. Other's have also been able to connect to my pocket wifi and we've had many experiences when the connection was necessary to our survival when traveling around Japan.

Having customer service and staff also help me in my native language (English) relieves a lot of the stresses that come with living as a foreigner. Having the ability to do so with such kind and understanding staff is truly a privilege. I cannot recommend Sakura Mobile enough because of their great connection allowing me to easily and smoothly contact my friends and family at anytime from anywhere.

I went to DOCOMO directly and after 3 hours they determined that I couldn't have a Japanese number on my phone. Very frustrating. Once I called Sakura everything went quickly and smoothly. Im not tech savvy and they made everything so easy! I had wifi the next day and a working Japanese number 2 days later. All delivered right to my home! When I had an issue setting it up they answered right away and quickly solved my mistakes.

Last two days reservation of a pocket WiFi and it still works. Fantastic costumer service and clear instructions out of the box.

Quick, easy, just as advertised. Picked up at a counter right outside arrivals. They set it up for me there and I had 0 issues using throughout my stay in japan. Which spanned multiple cities.

No complaints and highly recommended for ppl like me who are avid users for navigation, browsing, streaming, media etc.
