Avoid like the plague. Unacceptable High-Pressure Tactics and Lack of Compassion
I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the service provided by Murprotec regarding rising damp treatment for my elderly mother.
Firstly, the salesman employed high-pressure tactics and did not provide an English translation of the agreement as promised. This contributed to my mother's confusion and inability to make an informed decision.
Furthermore, the service was deemed unsuitable by two independent builders and a specialist plasterer. They confirmed that plaster removal and re-plastering are essential due to the severity of the rising damp, adding complexity, cost, and uncertainty to your service. Additionally, it appears your guarantee may not apply under these conditions.
Most importantly, my mother, who is 78 years old with advanced type 2 diabetes, neurological issues, high blood pressure, and severe anxiety, is not physically or mentally capable of coordinating with builders and plasterers. This situation is causing her significant stress and is seriously detrimental to her health.
Despite these exceptional circumstances, Murprotec has refused to refund even a percentage of the €2,500 deposit paid, although no work has commenced. This is entirely unreasonable. I urge the company to reconsider and provide a full refund of the deposit to avoid further escalation of this matter.
Sincerely disappointed.
