I've been buying wine from Marlo Wines (previously known as RD fine Wines) for years and I am very happy with the wine suggestions and excellent service. Often their prices are also slightly better than other places for some high end wines that I have purchased.

Whilst we of course respect your right to leave a 1-star score, we do feel it's a little disheartening given that the core of this issue was a logistical error outside of our direct control. We would have welcomed the chance to put things right before a review of this nature was left. As a family business, customer service sits at the very top of our list of priorities, as our other reviews attest to, and with the full picture in mind we feel this score is perhaps harsher than the situation warrants.
Unfortunately, we weren't made aware of any issues until after the delivery had taken place. Had we known sooner, we're confident we could have helped the order run more smoothly from a logistics standpoint. Since being notified, we have reached out directly to try to resolve the issue caused by DPD.
From what we've been able to establish, the delivery date was first changed via the DPD app, and the recipient's address is a portered/managed property, which meant the gift couldn't be delivered directly to their door.
As you may know, when DPD encounters portered apartment buildings, delivering parcels directly to individual doors is generally prohibited, which makes these situations particularly difficult to navigate.
We're sorry the experience didn't match your expectations. Without prior knowledge of any logistical issues, it's very hard for us to step in and help in real time, but we're grateful for your constructive criticism and will use it to improve going forward.
