By far the worst provider I've used
By far the worst provider I've used. Most of the time you don't have data. 5G or 4G doesn't work most of the time. Takes ages to load even Google.
I payed my x 3 hand devices early in…
I payed my x 3 hand devices early in July threw the app individually one buy one iPhones 15 17 & 17 so 140.00 all in all then I see am in arrears so I phoned told them I had payed early on the app . They then told me they want the payment again for the same month because I should’ve not paid through the app . It’s not fair there charging me double for the same month and threatening me with my credit file when I payed and they received it but went on to say it come of my whole bill instead 😡 one contract ends in a week so I told them I won’t be renewing they made out I have to carry it on even tho my contracts up it’s like there committing fraud and robbing me it’s not right also they when I speak by text they cut me off they wanted payment refs numbers so got them off my bank then they said no never go to 3
I was double charged after a store…
I was double charged after a store clerk changed my plan to a more expensive one, instead of the cheaper one is asked for, and was told i would not be billed. I was billed 30 euro for the expensive plan that i did not even use, with no option of refund. Will be changing operators because i can not tolerate this level of theft.
Paid twice for a SIM because of Free's mistake — still no refund
I am extremely disappointed with Free Mobile's customer service.
I paid for my first SIM card, but I never received it because Free registered the wrong postal address on my account.
When I contacted Free, I was told to go to a Free store to obtain a replacement SIM card. I had to pay another €10 for this second SIM and was specifically told that the additional cost would be refunded.
The refund never happened.
I have contacted Free repeatedly. I was eventually told that they could not refund the second SIM because the receipt issued by their own Free store did not show my mobile number. A supervisor also told me that the matter would be escalated, but weeks later nothing had been resolved.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that the argument about the second SIM receipt completely misses the point: the first SIM card was paid for and was never delivered because Free had entered the wrong address.
Therefore, even without discussing the second SIM, I have paid €10 for a first SIM card that I never received because of Free's own error.
I have spent far more time trying to recover €10 than the amount itself is worth. The issue is no longer the money; it is the principle and the complete failure to take responsibility for a very simple mistake.
I am still waiting for Free to refund the €10 I paid for the SIM card I never received.
Worst customer service & scam
They have the least friendly customer service. I couldn't cancel in 15 mins. They charged me 10 Euros for the payment I did the same day. They "upgraded" my offer and doubled the price. Don't ever get this line.
AVOID FREE AT ALL COSTS
AVOID FREE AT ALL COSTS. The prices may seem low but they do everything they can to overcharge you. ON EVERYTHING. Scam, money hungry company with no morals.
Simply awful customer service
Simply awful customer service. Actually I should say non existent customer service. You cannot reach a human when you call their number. Instead you are supposed to go use the app -that depending on the day gives different error messages- then try and get in touch that way. It invariably fails, so in effect Free has ZERO customer service.
Going to a store, for the most part, involves getting a person who does not offer any help, gives out actual misinformation, and does their best to get rid of you as quickly as possible. I have been trying to add a second line or phone to my already existing Free mobile and box accounts. Instead I will now search for a different company who hopefully does offer a little bit of care for their customers. I am opening a small business and am being delayed because of this unprofessional company. Exasperating.

International coverage
I'm sick of being charged extra by this company when I travel abroad. They claim to have coverage in Europe plus 130+ countries, but one trip to Bosnia costed me 70 EUR for 8 MB of internet. Luckily my one year contract with them terminates next month and I'll be FREE from them. I don't recommend this company, especially not to internationals.
STAY AWAY from FREE MOBILE or you‘ll pay a lot of extra money
I can‘t ecommend FREE MOBILE in France. No customer support, and they take money from your bank account, which is not the correct amount. They make phone calls and advertise a new Free Box, which I didn‘t approve and then they make a bill of 52 Euros instead of 19,99 + penalty fees of 10 Euros for each phone number if they can‘t do the SEPA. And there is no chance to speak with an agent or correct the bill. It‘s devastating. And if the limit is exceeded they either stop the Data AND/or they make you pay an extra 5 Euro even with no more internet, and after there is a oayimg problem they block you with calling the free service line and also in the online portal when logged in. The only possibility they give is paying the wrong amount + penalty fees. This is robbery! I can only make a claim at Signal Conso / DGCCRF and Médiateur Télécom
This is how you make a claim which is the only possibility for them to change their business rules to a fair and respectful customer support. Never again FREE MOBILE!
Letter to SignalConso:
* l’arrêt immédiat des prélèvements,
* le remboursement des sommes prélevées abusivement,
* ainsi qu’un contrôle des pratiques commerciales de cette société concernant les modifications automatiques de forfaits et prélèvements non autorisés.

A disgrace to humanity
I wanted to order an eSIM from them to have some data available while travelling in France. The process of ordering was quite difficult. To order, I needed to provide an address in France and a French mobile phone number. To get a French mobile phone number, I need to already have a French mobile phone number?? Fortunately it worked to provide the very number I was ordering as the phone number, as I could select it at the start of the ordering process. In the end they checked none of the details and I received a QR code for an eSIM.
Unfortunately, installing that eSIM did not work. I tried about 20 times and got an error each time. Then the eSIM got revoked and I could not even try to install it anymore. I could not find an option to generate a new eSIM.
When I tried to contact the provider about this, I realized what a scam company this was. They don’t provide any way to contact them in writing. There is no e-mail address or contact form anywhere. Everywhere they tell you that you need to call their support hotline. I do not speak French and do not intend to. And of course their support hotline can only be reached through a French phone line, but mine doesn’t work yet! The only alternative they provide is to send them a “registered letter” by post, which apparently costs at least 7,35 €.
Not just can I not reach anyone to fix my eSIM, but I can also not withdraw from my contract. My last chance is to contact them through their GDPR contact form, which is very hidden on their website, and to revoke the credit card booking from buying the card.
Even if their offers were any good, I would not every become a customer of this company, as I would not want to support their criminal business practices. Anyways, I have since ordered an eSIM from Lebara, which was much cheaper, much less complicated to order and worked immediately.
The most horrible company ever!
The most horrible company we have ever dealt with in our lives. Stay away if you can! It is simply impossible to stop them from charging even months after we have un-subscribed. We called them 100 times and they always circle you back to some crazy chatbox or something. When you finally manage to talk to a human, there is always more stuff they need you to call back for. We even sent them a physical letter, we have returned their modem, and they continue to charge us for a service they do not provide. It is absurd and incredibly frustrating. Probably illegal. Surreal!
STAY AWAY!!
There is no Cancel Option
they make it soo hard to cancel and the only way is by calling them or writing a letter. it's really scam like to not have a cancel option. once i got someone on the phone they tried to get me off it till i really insisted really hard that i wasn't going to hangup and call latter then she became very helpful and overall the phone service was really good.
Horrible fees
Horrible service - please dont choose this terrible firm. If your card is not French, they will charge 10€ extra per month which makes them much more expensive than other providors!
If I could give 0 stars
If I could give 0 stars, I would.
Do not trust this company. Free Mobile charges fees without prior authorization, and when you contact customer service to dispute them, they tell you to send a letter by post (with very long delays), while forcing you to pay immediately because they suspended your line.
Yes, their plans are cheaper, but they don’t hesitate to overcharge and use questionable practices.
Very bad experience. I strongly do not recommend.
One star is already a lot
I really wonder who in their right kind put more than 1 star. Inexistent customer service. Only a paying phone number not accessible from abroad, no chat, no form, no email. Overcharges on anything. Threats for legal action and penalties two days after payment date. That is the sort of company that should not exist.
super negative
What can I say? I was sold a subscription in store 'without strings attached' ... After I realised the service wasn't working as it should I tried to cancel, which was in an of itself a nightmare with their very unhelpful phone agents. I finally eventually managd to cancel, but they're still trying to invoice me for a month I haven't used at all... So much about 'no strings attached'
Useless from start to finish...
I paid 12 Euros ,10 for the SIM and 2 for my first month in France.
Well, the SIM would not activate, despite me trying all I knew.
So,we took a 45 minute ride to the Free shop in Brive. I explained everything to the guy, who then repeated every action I had already done.He could not re- imburse me ( as I did not have my passport) and then invited me to phone their help line!!!!WHY COULDN'T HE DO IT????
I'm in the Free shop, with a Free SIM, with a Free problem and this fella is a blank!!
Absolutely useless, I have written off the 12 E, and will advertise the hopelessness of this company at any opportunity I get .
Definitely ," Not Free".
Cancellation process is unclear
Cancellation process is unclear. Even after requesting cancellation, I was still charged for two extra months. Customer service only accepts postal claims, which is very inconvenient for international users. Messenger support was clear, but overall a poor experience.
offer a 2 euro sim card as big…
offer a 2 euro sim card as big customer. The first bill is 22 euros. They allow you to automatically go over capped data without telling you and then sting you with a bill 10x the amount of the contract. This should be illegal.
