AVOID ! I would not recommend this moving company based on my experience. They have tried EVERYTHING to silence me with threatening me with Garda and Revenue.

I initially requested a quote for 3 CBM. When I was asked to complete the acceptance form, I entered 5 CBM. The completed form was received by the company, and no one raised any issue with the change. The form was subsequently processed by multiple members of their team, including their accountant, and I was invoiced and asked to pay a deposit based on 5 CBM. I paid the requested deposit to secure the booking.

Despite this, I was only contacted about the 3 CBM/5 CBM discrepancy immediately before the scheduled collection. Until then, I had received no indication that there was any problem with the booking. In fact, even on the morning of the collection, I was still communicating with the company and asking for the drivers’ arrival time because I fully expected the agreed collection to go ahead.

I was particularly disappointed by the customer service and management of the situation. Rather than resolving an internal discrepancy within their own booking process, I was presented with the suggestion that the issue was my responsibility. I had provided the information requested, paid the deposit requested, and relied on the booking as confirmed by the company.

I also had not been provided with or agreed to any cancellation terms and had not cancelled the collection myself.

What was most concerning was that, after the company failed to provide the agreed service, the situation escalated to the point where I was told that I could be reported to the Gardaí. I found this response completely disproportionate to what was, from my perspective, a straightforward booking and customer-service dispute.

I have retained the booking documents, payment confirmation and correspondence, which clearly show the sequence of events.

Overall, my experience was extremely disappointing, particularly because I believe the issue could have been avoided with basic communication and proper management of the booking.

Wayne and his team moved my family and contents of our 4 bed home. This was, without doubt, the most professional and stress free moving experience. We chose to pack ourselves and in advance of getting that underway, Wayne's team could not have been more patient and helpful throughout the day. They were in and out in no time and left nothing behind. Aside from the fact that our belongings were treated with such care and respect, the team themselves were professional, efficient, helpful and entertaining!! We got 3 quotes and Just Move was by far the best value - I cannot recommend highly enough.

Excellent service, great price. Staff always available to answer questions and help with the necessary paperwork. My move was from Georgia USA to Inishowen Co Donegal Ireland. Everything arrived as packaged, no breakage at all. Would highly recommend this company.

Wayne and his team were very communicative and extremely responsive to all of my questions and concerns and made the move as straightforward and issue-free as could be possible.
Wayne and his team’s experience was particularly helpful when walking me through the transfer of residency and related documents and requirements. They provided the necessary documentation, reviewed the completed forms, and advised if there were any errors or additional information required from me. I thought the required documentation would be a challenging task but the team made it an absolute non-event. I would use their services again based on this alone!
Customs clearance and final delivery were performed without issue and courteously and professionally.
Just Move made the move drama-free and that’s what I wanted and received.
Will definitely use them again for any future moves.

A BIT CHAOTIC, A BIT CARELESS

Over the years, I’ve had no fewer than 8 professional moves, several were long distance (>1,400 km) and one was across an ocean, so I’m not new to a moving experience. I know the work is hard and that the packing crews want to move as fast as possible. Not only is important how our furnishings are packed, but also, how easily can we find what we need when are trying to settle into a new house. Of all of those moves, this was the most chaotic and lacking in care.

THE GOOD NEWS:
All of our goods arrived in fine condition. The unloading crew was careful and courteous. The pricing was fair.

THE CHAOTIC:
The load date was scheduled, we arranged for rental accommodation based on that load date, which was ~6 days in advance of the closing on our home. It was only when I called a couple of days in advance to re-confirm the loading date, that I was told it had changed to two days before closing. We wound up paying for ~4 night accommodation that was unnecessary.

When the load date was confirmed, the scheduler was confident it would be packed and loaded in one day. At the time of quoting, it was determined it would take two days, which the packing crew confirmed immediately upon arrival.

During the price quoting phase, we discussed moving the contents of our wine cellar, which was only about 10 cases of wine. With a shared laugh, the Just Move agent agreed that we didn’t want to leave the wine behind. When the loading crew arrived, we were told that as we would not be with the moving van on the same ferry, customs might confiscate our wine. A call to the manager at Just Move confirmed we should be able to load the wine….until he spoke to the driver. On that load day, we now had to find temporary storage for our wine (at an additional expense, and with costs incurred when we returned to reclaim it).

LACKING IN CARE:
Moving crews want to move fast - understood. As the client, when I am unpacking, I want to be able to find what I need/want amongst my sea of boxes. With the intention of finding a balance between packer’s speed, and our unpacking experience, I created labels for a few specific items (works of art). All the packing crew had to do was to peel off our label and put it on the exterior of the moving carton. It was only after the first few boxes were packed did I realize this request had been ignored. Rather than request the boxes be opened, and the labels affixed, I worked with the packing crew to try to remember what had been packed where, then I manually labeled the boxes. After this intervention on our part, the crew did accommodate our wish to display any pre-made labels.

On the last day, one of the packing crew broke a flushing mechanism on one of the toilets and didn’t bring it to our attention. We discovered it only after the packing crew had gone. There wasn’t enough time to repair the toilet, so we had to make financial reparations with the homebuyer.

My husband and I searched for months for movers who would be able to handle a complex international move from Los Angeles, California to rural Ireland. We felt very insecure about all of the American companies we came across, as their reviews were often terrible, and they were too corporate/large to really care.
Finally we decided to search for a moving company based in Ireland. We immediately came across "Just Move", which had stellar reviews. We made contact and found ourselves speaking directly to the owner, Wayne. He was straightforward and reassuring, and most importantly, had a lot of experience with international clients and large moves.
We did encounter some difficulties with the American company he had to subcontract, whose management was not nearly as good with communication and organization as Wayne was. However, the actual workers moving our things were very nice and careful, which really helped balance things out. At the end of the day, the important thing is that all of our belongings arrived intact and in good time. This was in good part because of Wayne's good and long-established relationship with his American counterpart.
"Just Move" packed us into one extremely full 40ft ocean container, 9 airplane pallets, and another 20ft container with our car inside. Their team here in Ireland went above and beyond to make sure everything was unloaded safely and efficiently. Their movers are the most polite, smart and pleasant workers we've ever come across, and their care and attention, under Kevin's guidance, never wavered.
At the office, Keith was particularly helpful and attentive, though everyone was very patient and kind. At the end of the day, being able to contact Wayne at any time, even when he's busy living his life (sorry Wayne) was a rare privilege. Few people make themselves available like this nowadays, and it makes all the difference.
Wayne also has extensive and detailed knowledge of the shipping industry, and is able to communicate clearly and deal with any issues as they arrive. We also benefited financially from his global connections in the industry, as he was able to give us even better prices than we had hoped.
Overall, we highly recommend "Just Move" if you find yourself in the unenviable situation of having to move your whole life somewhere new, whether within or out of Ireland. They will get you there safely and with integrity.
