Be very wary.
I was approached by a supposed "Maaz Rayyan"
Very quickly my work was praised and they wanted to work with me to get it published.
All these lucrative offers. "Get your book in the shop by Christmas." "Get your book on various different platforms." Led me to believe my dreams of becoming an author were coming true.
When I was asking for costs, they couldn't let me know straight away. Then came back with a figure of 1200 euros (£1030) after asking several times for costs. That was to help me complete the book. Marketing costs etc would be decided later.
If a publishing firm genuinely believes in your book, they take a cut out of the sales from the book and pay you an advance, rather than draining you all the way through
I decided not to pursue after being shown that Maaz Rayyan is an alias used by fraudsters.
Maaz may genuinely work for IPH but they also apparently work for two or three other publishing firm
