It seems like they hire third party companies to come out and do the work instead of having their own team so you really don’t know how much you’ll actually pay until the cleaning crew comes to start the project, but it didn’t go over the budget I set with Hoarding Services. Hoarding services was very responsive the entire time and my experience with them over the phone has been very nice. The company they hired to do the job was also very professional and did a wonderful job! I’ve finally been able to reclaim my space and I have no regrets about using this service.
The service was perfect timing, and the lady was extremely nice and nonjudgmental, and she did a wonderful job.
The team was incredibly fast and understanding.
I was expecting a five person crew to complete the move I requested. Only 2 men showed up and they had a large room almost stacked to the ceiling in some places it was to the ceiling. I was figuring they would have to come back the next morning but these guys(sorry can't remember there names) they sent were extremely professional and kicked that rooms ass. They were done in less than four yes 4 hours. I will definitely be using this very professional business a call again. My situation may be different from others but I was very impressed none the less.

They were amazing! They did a great job on a really bad house. A whole crew showed up and they got the whole thing done in 1 day. They were very professional and non-judgmental. I appreciate their expertise so much. I highly recommend Hoarding Rescue!

The room that needed cleaning was a terrible mess due to years of neglect. I had been trying to clean it, but I was hit by a car while crossing the street and broke my ankle so my movement is impaired. I am very grateful for the excellent job Hoarding Rescue did in cleaning the mess! Highly recommend and definitely worth the money.

Outrageous predatory prices, only for them to outsource to local companies. Then they paid the company that cleaned less than half of what they charged me & lied to that company that they can only pay that because I told them I was on a budget. If I was on a budget, I couldn't afford to be scammed by this company. Disgusting business practices. It seems like they want to take advantage of people struggling with mental illness and/or family who have to deal with the mess of hoarding.

I had them come in to clean my brother’s place while he was in the hospital. His townhouse was a biohazard disaster. Not only did they come in ready and willing to clean, disinfect and reorganize the place, but they also made it a point to reassure me that they were there to help. It’s very comforting to know someone has your back when you are dealing with an extremely difficult situation.

This organization operates nationwide and subcontracts known, reliable, local companies to come to appointments. They know the local companies that can be relied on, that are trustworthy, that their customers are pleased with. My case manager was accessible all day and into the evening to talk with. The person in charge of subcontracting services was always available to speak with my company and followed up with me as well regarding my satisfaction. The service they sent me was fast, hardworking, productive, thorough, trustworthy, asked me what I wanted or needed throughout their service in order to clarify communication, and were attentive, kind, and supportive. I felt encouraged instead of embarrassed. And the junk is gone!
I wish a second estimate after reviewing my pictures had been something they had been willing to speak about. I took more money from personal money making accounts than I needed in order to be sure I had enough to cover the cost. Next time I use them (and I will again), I will request an upfront estimate so that I am not losing from a personal account by withdrawing too much.

To be honest, I am very disappointed in this company. Despite the positive reviews, that was far from my experience . I booked with them for Monday, July 6th and crew was supposed to meet us between 10-11am. At 10, when we had already arrived at the house, the project manager called me and stated that all crew members were on sick leave. We rescheduled for the following day, same time frame. Arrived same time the following day, one person of three showed up. She was unprofessional, and not prepared for the job. She stated that she was going out to her car to get some cleaning supplies and drove off and never returned. Despite the office calling me and stating that it would be another hour, then another hour before the crew got there, At 2pm, we realized that the crew was never going to come.
Needlesstosay, we wasted two days and our time on this.
This company doesn’t “vet” their workers or at least that’s what the woman stated before she bolted! Buyer beware!!!!!

Everything about our experience with this team was great. Very compassionate and helpful. Jorge was our project manager and he was very professional from start to finish. Definitely recommend. This was for a family member of mine so I was nervous about picking a company but thankfully they came through. The job ended up taking a bit longer than we thought but grateful that didn’t change the pricing.
From our first phone conversation with Jorge through two different crews we were treated with kindness and respect. We first met with Pete and his team they came in full of energy and got rid of the trash. We went through each room of our house and got rid of years worth of stuff. Next we met with Maria and her team. They went through the living space and cleaned everything floors to ceiling. They helped me better organize my things. The job was bigger than they thought so they came back the next day and did bedrooms and master bathroom. Everyone from beginning to end was professional and caring. Thank you all

I just got home after my cleaning crew finished and I started crying tears of joy almost immediately upon walking in the door. Years of mental health issues compounded to make my apartment distressingly unclean, disorganized, and unsanitary, beyond what I could handle on my own or ask loved ones to help with. Hoarding Rescue was compassionate, judgment-free, and understanding of the situation and the challenges I faced in addressing it, as was the local team they sent to my home. I have no idea if the price was low, high, or just right - I just know that the relief I feel at being able to get a clean start on my living situation was absolutely worth it. Jorge, Marla, and the local crew were all very kind and communicative. I’m so grateful to all of them.

We have had the pleasure of working with Hoarding Rescue and Marla on three different projects over the past few months, and each one presented its own unique challenges. Throughout every project, Marla has been professional, understanding, and committed to finding the best solutions for everyone involved.
What stands out most is that we share the same goal: helping people who truly need support during difficult situations. Marla approaches every project with compassion, respect, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference.
Our experience working with Hoarding Rescue has been one of the best partnerships our company has had. As a contractor, we greatly value professionalism, communication, and teamwork, and Marla consistently delivers on all three.
We look forward to building a long-term working relationship with Hoarding Rescue and continuing to help clients together.
Great job, Marla!

I inherited a huge hoarding mess and was completely overwhelmed. Anthony was gracious and kind during the initial call and provided a quote based on our initial conversation. The lovely people who came out to do the work realized that the quote had woefully underestimated the project. They came back twice with increases, which was completely understandable, considering the nature of the job. The wonderful crew stayed far beyond what they had initially expected, and were completely committed to getting the job done. Highly recommend.

I am a lawyer in New York City. A client of mine, who is disabled, got an eviction notice for an alleged hoarding condition. I found Hoarding Rescue. Thank G-d I did. They were able to mobilize a team within the week. They showed up on time, with the proper equipment, and more importantly, the proper people. They treated my client with dignity and respect. One of their technicians sat next to my client all day and helped him sort through things as the other technicians brought stuff to him, to decide what to throw out. After the team left, my client decided that he had held onto things that he no longer wanted. And miraculously, the team turned the truck around and came back and picked up the remaining stuff! This turned out to be a bigger job than the company anticipated. But they were willing to stick to their original price quote. I was so happy with the way they did things that I insisted they add an extra charge. Also, they provided me with a comprehensive report that I could use to show the landlord that the work had been done. I will never call anybody else but Hoarding Rescue when I have these types of cases.

I would not recommend Hoarding Rescue. My experience consisted of poor communication, changing estimates, missed commitments, and failure to deliver services discussed during booking.
I hired Hoarding Rescue because I was told my apartment junk removal and deep cleaning could be completed over a single weekend, beginning Friday and finishing by Saturday at the latest. During booking, I was also told they would clean the carpets and litter boxes. Later, I learned carpet cleaning would cost an additional $500, and they ultimately refused to clean the litter boxes.
My original estimate was $2,500–$3,500. After I thoroughly explained the animal biohazard conditions, Anthony increased it to $4,500–$5,500 and assured me it would not exceed $5,000. I provided detailed descriptions and photos, including the animal waste issues. Despite this, after the walkthrough I was told the project would cost $6,500.
Problems started immediately. When I received a copy of the estimate, my name and email were entered incorrectly. After requesting corrections via email, the revised estimate still contained the same errors.
Then on Friday morning, the crew was scheduled to arrive between 9 and 10 a.m. Just before arrival time, Marla informed me their truck had broken down. After several delays, a replacement crew finally arrived around 4:15 p.m. Because their truck had limited space, they only removed a few empty boxes and completed a walkthrough before leaving. The actual junk removal did not begin until Saturday.
Friday evening, Marla informed me the estimate had increased again to $6,500 due to more furniture and hazardous waste than expected. This made little sense because I had already provided detailed descriptions and photos that led to the earlier estimate increase as a precaution.
As concerns grew, I repeatedly requested a written scope of work. Anthony resisted multiple times before eventually providing a vague description that did not clearly define what cleaning tasks would be completed. During one call, after I expressed concern about the constant changes and lack of clarity, Anthony suggested I cancel the cleaning service and stated that I was “making [him] anxious.”
Later Friday night, I learned they would not clean the litter boxes despite that being one of the services discussed during booking and one reason I chose the company. By late Friday night, I still had no confirmed cleaning schedule or clear plan for carpet cleaning.
Communication problems continued throughout the weekend. On Saturday, after the junk removal team missed its arrival window, I received no update from Anthony nor Marla and had to contact them myself for an updated ETA. The junk removal crew completed the bulk of the work Saturday afternoon, but as of noon I still had no confirmed schedule for the deep cleaning or carpet cleaning. At that point, I lost confidence that the promised services would be delivered and canceled the cleaning portion of the project.
The one positive aspect was the subcontracted junk removal crew. They were professional, communicative, and completed the work efficiently. My concerns are not with the crews but with Hoarding Rescue's management of the project.
Throughout the process, Anthony and Marla repeatedly overpromised and failed to follow through. Timelines changed, services discussed during booking were later removed, estimates increased multiple times, and I was often forced to chase down basic scheduling information myself.
I also learned that Hoarding Rescue primarily acts as a project management company that hires subcontractors for cleaning and junk removal. During the process, I learned the junk removal and cleaning companies charged approximately $800 respectively, while I was being quoted $5,000–$6,500 for the project, plus an additional $500 for carpet cleaning. While I understand companies need to make a profit, I felt the pricing lacked transparency and did not reflect the services ultimately provided.
After I canceled the cleaning portion of the project, Hoarding Rescue retained my $1,100 deposit and later reimbursed me $200 for replacement litter boxes because they could not provide the litter box cleaning discussed during booking.
This was already a stressful situation, and Hoarding Rescue made it significantly more stressful than it needed to be. What should have been a straightforward junk removal and deep cleaning project became a weekend of changing estimates, missed commitments, poor communication, and uncertainty about whether promised services would actually be performed. If I had to do it again, I would hire local cleaning and junk removal companies directly rather than paying a middleman to coordinate subcontractors.

I've had bad experiences with other cleaning services. This one was lovely. They were kind, reassuring (I was very embarrassed by the state of the apartment), and they did a wonderful job. The booking process was quick and easy, they came within 3 days of the booking (could've been sooner, but I had an appointment), and all in all I'm very happy with this service.
