Very Troubling Experience – Serious Red Flags

Title: Very Troubling Experience – Serious Red Flags
My experience with Kivik Marbella (K-I-V-I-K) and its head, Antonio, has been extremely disappointing and raises serious concerns.
Antonio planned a corner kitchen for me and confirmed in writing that he would provide the complete project plans. At the same time, he strongly recommended that I hire a specific construction company to carry out the preparatory works required for the installation. He directed me personally to Gustavo, the owner of that construction company.
Trusting Antonio’s professional position and recommendation, I followed his advice. I paid Kivik for the kitchen project and I also paid Gustavo’s construction company for the preparatory works.
The critical issue: the promised kitchen plans were never delivered — despite written confirmation. Without these plans, the construction work could not properly proceed. Kivik eventually refunded my payment. However, Gustavo’s construction company has kept the money, even though the essential project basis — the kitchen plans — was never provided.
This creates a deeply uncomfortable situation. The referral came directly from Antonio. The plans were not delivered. The construction company retained the payment without the necessary foundation for the work.
Whether this is simply gross incompetence, extremely poor coordination, or something more concerning — the result for the customer is the same: financial damage and a complete lack of accountability.
In my view, this reflects a highly questionable way of doing business.
I strongly advise others to proceed with extreme caution.

Trust the reviews you see here.

Trust the reviews you see here.. Our kitchen project was supposed to be done by early June. 3 months later, we are stuck with half done kitchen and hopeless. Kvik keeps making incomplete or wrong deliveries, absolutely failing to communicate or follow up. We have lost the count of how many times they sent their staff to finish putting up the kitchen, only for them to say that we still lack some parts and they can't finish. Stay away from Kvik Storo and Victoria if you value good service and competence.

Absolutely terrible customer service at…

Absolutely terrible customer service at Kvik Storo, and it seems I’m not the only one with this experience. I now understand why Kvik doesn't have a review rating on their website.

For me the worst about the situation is that up until you pay they seem responsive, accommodating, friendly and helpful. However, for us this all changed after the payment was received.
With their policy that the final payment needs to be received to "release the goods from the warehouse" it means that you can end up in a very frustrating situation when something goes wrong with delivery.

The issues we are currently still dealing with are:
1) Delivery delays. We're missing half our kitchen. Unfortunately this is the half that makes it a functional kitchen. I.e. parts of the hood that make it functional, a sink, counter tops, cabinet doors, sidings, correct appliances (frigde, washingmachine, dishwasher) etc.

2) Poor customer service. It's nearly impossible to get a hold of, and get a response from our contact person. It seems that they only respond when you get angry with them, which is a degrading feeling to have as a customer.

3) Getting the blame for their mistakes. We've been accused of having the missing items in our apartment (I wish!). Getting wrong measurements on a countertop that they sent a Kvik representative for to measure. Getting appliances we did not pick out.

4) A lot of additional stress and frustration.

To elaborate a bit more on point 4:

One of the first situations that shocked us is that Kvik used my name in a dispute with a installation partner they had to solidify a point Kivk was trying to get across. The installer let me read the text Kvik sent to him that said “ Customer X said ABC to us about you … therefore we can’t work with you anymore”. As you can believe this put us in an extremely akward position. Luckily the installer acknowledged that we had nothing to do with it, given their track record with this Kvik employee.

We were promised that some of the missing items were being sent with a new delivery. When the delivery company arrived and started offloading the "missing items" it quickly became clear that they were offloading a wrong order; a whole new kitchen that was supposed to go to someone that lives about an 1.5 hrs away from us. My husband had to get angry at Kvik before they took us serious that we did not order a whole new kitchen and allowed the delivery men to load it back onto their truck again.

Also, Kvik is not too high on GDPR because they had no issues giving us the full name, number and address of the person the delivery should have gone to.

The same evening we wrote an email to Kvik about this. Their response "I don't understand, the missing items were given to the drivers. They had the items in the car. I don't understand why warehouse told us that you said that you got the wrong items delivered".

I was shocked to read that Kvik had the audacity to put the blame for the wrong delivery on us.

A new delivery was scheduled for the next day. This delivery was also to include a temporary replacement for the counter tops that were too small for our cabinets.

Mind you that by that time we had already sent 4 emails to Kvik asking if we could keep the too small counter tops we already have, until we receive the correct ones. That solution would at least give us a sink. We did not get a reply to any of those requests.

The next day the delivery guys showed up. They had a few of the missing items (we're still missing 2 cabinet doors, the appliances we ordered, items to make our hood functional, and cabinet sides). In addition they had a 4 meter long replacement counter top, without sink.

to give you some context, no room in our apartment would fit a 4 meter long counter top. Nor had Kvik verified with us that this was a satisfactory and viable option for us.

We called Kvik about it and their reply was "oh we thought you had the handymen at your place so they could cut it for you". Again, not taking responsibility for their lack of communication, coordination and customer-focus.

Luckily the delivery men were kind enough to take the 4 meter long counter top back with them. At least they did realise that it would do no good to our customer satisfaction if they were to offload it.

The last encounter (so far) we had with Kvik will make you all laugh out loud. We called them about the situation, told them this is not OK and we expect to be compensated in some way. Kvik replied with "Oh, but we're taking on the cost for the wrong counter tops".
I am sure you can believe our surprise to hear that a so-called professional company considers fixing their own mistakes, a viable compensation for the mess that they put their customers through.

Given their lack of response we see no other route but to involve the Norwegian consumer right organization. That it had to go this far, unbelievable.

NIGHTMARE

Kvik has been so far one of the worst purchase I have ever made and my biggest regret is not having trusted all the negativ comments about this brand and their franchises around the world.

I purchased my kitchen in June 2020 and opted for their paid "professional" installation service. What a disaster.

The kitchen was delivered in October 2020. Not only were many parts missing but they were also of very poor quality (IKEA in comparaison is high quality). Their so-called professional installer did a really bad job (he damaged some parts, none of his cuts are clean and straight).

We are now in March 2021 and:
- we still have not received the missing parts;
- the poor quality of the cabinets are more and more visible as the wood is starting to split, the wooden countertop is staining our walls;
- KVIK has left a giant kitchen cabinet right in the middle of our living room.

It is really a nightmare. We were very much looking forward to moving into this new appartment but thanks to KVIK it has become unbearable.

We are still waiting for them to finalize our kitchen but they have not taken any action so far.

If you are looking to purchase a kitchen, I highly recommend you do not purchase it from KVIK.
