I was able to speak with a lovely lady who explained everything to me. However the actual details, such as the times for peak, off-peak & shoulder are not on the website (& it wasn't clear if I would... See more

The frustrating thing about Energy Australia is being unable to speak to someone in an Australian call centre now.
I struggled with the language barrier when contacting their call centre in the Phillipines. When I requested to talk to someone in Australia I was told that Energy Australia no longer have domestic call centres.
I have now switched retailers.
Energy Australia- what a poor performing company. I have 6 accounts - 4 business and 2 residential- with energy Australia these need to be segregated by different email addresses and logins. I’ve spent approx 10 hours over the past 8 weeks trying to be able to manage these accounts online.
I’ve been with the for about 7 years but with every alteration it’s like you’re a new customer so every time I talk to them about one account I have to go over or through the details of all 6 accounts. Two different logins residential and business - they can’t be put together and no one with give you an honest answer which section has the better rates.
You can’t talk to a supervisor and for some reason each contact gives you a different answer.
I have never seen such an inefficient, unproductive company as Energy Australia.
The service is terrible and I hope like me you take your business elsewhere.
Will never ever return to Energy Australia even if my energy/power source was free! Literally (years ago) my account started with paying quarterly an approx $300-400 to where it was recently to approx $1300-1500 quarterly. My home is filled with led everything and of an evening we only use what lighting we require which ain’t many let me tell you, thus the reason why I can’t understand?
I’ve swapped to another supplier and from what I can see upon my app, it’s stating that my quarterly bill outcome will be an approx $500. 😃 So where did Energy Australia find the other approx $1000….
Call it what you will but in today’s day and age there is no such thing as loyalty for being a long term customer, your only a number as the saying goes! Just remember that folks!!
Much, much happier now as I will save an approx $1000 every three months and that’s not taking into account summer approaching and the ducted a/c going. Going off history, I’m thinking the summer period bill would have been eye watering and thank God I made the switch elsewhere…
Oh! And just before I leave you sll with this info, I thought that by having a smart meter, everything is meant to be accurate as the meter is supposed to throw off signals back to base every 5-10 seconds letting Energy Australia know specifically what’s going on within each and every household of usage etc….upon myself offering them notice of my intention to leave, I all of a sudden about a fortnight later had a credit offered of approx $500 and the excuse on paper says:your bill was calculated using incomplete information and for that reason I was overcharged. We apologise gor the inconvenience!
Yes, but in any case the bill that they stuffed up had to be paid, and I can’t imagine if I never had left, nothing would of been investigated and I’d have kept being ripped off…forever in the day.Shifty as!
How dare they ! Never, ever again !
Terrible experience, lied to the customer that the power had been connected. A few hours later, still no power. I called the distributor and they confirmed they had not received the service orders from EAz
Terrible Experience,
They change the rates significantly. My bill jumped from $300 to $600 for a 3 month period.
I have a battery and had very low bills with Original but moved to Energy Australia and my bills went through the roof. Absolute rip off. Never again!
I signed up on the basis of their ad for free Disney+. After receiving the Welcome Pack, I asked in chat when the activation link for Disney+ would be sent, and knowing I lived in QLD, was told "2 Weeks". About 3 weeks later, I enquired in chat and was told "It's NSW only". I asked if they would refund the difference in cost between them and the lower price I was paying, and was told no because the T&Cs said it was NSW only. When I asked if he could show me where it was stated in the T&Cs, he replied "I don't know". I escalated it, and the Customer Resolutions Consultant sent an email saying it was "clearly outlined". When I replied asking if she could show me where, I did not receive a response, and I needed to go to the ombudsman.
No staff member actually knows what's going on. You just get transferred between departments for average 40 minute hold in total. Stay away!
Go with a small provider or a company that trains staff to not leave you on hold and flick you to the next person.
your operator was very helpful and was able to help with my account today
Everything is very good. Very appreciate your services. Thank you!
It was very easy to swap plans.
I read my last A/C it was suggested I could save more if I swapped over do I did in less than 10mins thankyou
I originally rang Energy Australia, identified myself and after confirming my needs was told that the operator could send me a link to complete the transfer to a new plan myself.
This I agreed to, however I could have done the whole transaction myself without spending 10 minutes on the phone. Not sure why the letter sent to me telling me my discount was about to expire said I could call Energy Australia to choose a new plan.
Having said this the operator was most helpful and I’m happy to stay with Energy Australia
I am 91 years old and not comfortable with computer requirements, passwords etc. I was dealt with by a very patient and extremely tolerant operater to whom I must give top marks for her kindness and assistance.
Thank you.
Had to go to Energy Ombudsmen to get any resolution to a billing issue that went on for 6 months. The worst Energy company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Run don’t walk to any other provider
Performed a credit check without permission. Was probably in the fineprint somewhere. Highly deceptive.
If I could, I would give negative review! I have been a customer of them for more than 10 years, they cancelled my plan, and offers me more expensive one with less discount. I talked to them, they refused to give me similar discount. If the company wants more money from customer, they could ask, but not using this way. The fact, their rate is more expensive than other companies.
