Unfair subscription model and zero return on investment for artists
As a professional artist, my experience with Artfinder has been deeply disappointing.
The subscription model feels entirely one-sided, imposing recurring fixed costs on artists regardless of sales or platform performance. Even when your artwork is selected for official curated collections (like "Staff Picks"), this recognition fails to convert into actual traffic or sales due to an algorithm that feels opaque and restrictive.
Furthermore, their customer support and refund policies are extremely rigid. When I inquired about a subscription refund—even well within a 24-hour window—my request was not granted. Once your paid plan expires, your store is simply unpublished unless you continue to pay monthly fees out of pocket.
Instead of acting as a supportive partner for independent creators, Artfinder operates more like a pay-to-play showcase that places the financial risk entirely on the artist. I cannot recommend this platform to serious artists looking for a fair collaboration and a genuine return on investment.

We do our best to be transparent about how our subscription model works, including that stores are unpublished when a subscription ends. Being on an active subscription is required for a seller store to remain published, visible on the marketplace, and able to make sales. It also helps Artfinder continue supporting all artists by investing in our platform, building new features, improving the experience, and expanding marketing opportunities for artists.
We also want to emphasise that we do our best to support all artists on the platform. While features such as Staff Picks can help increase visibility, we cannot guarantee sales, as these depend on a range of factors.
In addition, if an artist feels they need extra support or guidance, we encourage them to reach out to us directly. Our team is always happy to do our best to provide additional assistance where we can.
Regarding refunds, our policy applies in accordance with our Terms and Conditions for all customers, including where a free facilitated return has been completed on behalf of Artfinder.

Great Art, Great Price, Great Delivery
I really enjoy buying things through Artfinder because what I see is a very good approximation of what I get, and what I get has consistently been phenomenal. I guess what I really like is interacting with the artists; that's the fun part. It's great to know a little about the painting you bought and to be able to talk to the artist about it - it really makes the paintings more special to know a little bit of the context behind the piece and who the artist is. Were I not funds limited, I probably buy a new piece every day! Everything I have received has been professionally shipped and has arrived undamaged within a few days of the order. This is a very good way to find what you want, acquire it, and to some degree, participate in the community that makes these treasures.

Artfinder for a vast range of artworks to suit (virtually) every taste.
Artfinder provide access to a huge range of contemporary artworks fromnumerous different artists living and working all over the world. The variety of works on offer means that there is sure to be something that appeals to most. The pricepoints of available works varies tremendously too, so that is likely to be something within the reach of mosst pockets.
The method they have seems to be to provide a showcase for the above, and to facilitate connections between interested parties and the artists and their agents. In my case I was put in touch with a gallery in Armenia who provided a simple, smooth and efficient system of ordering, payment, shipping and delivery.
The whole process was very satisfactory.

My Gift Certificate didn't work
My Gift Certificate didn't work. Many emails later it was finally accessible. Frustrating. Then I ordered something but it wasn't what I expected so I had to return it. More emails to figure out how to do that. Frustrating. I now have (I think) all my credits back but I'm anxious about having to start the process all over again.

Artfinder made it easy to find something we were really excited about. Our artist was able to ship the painting within a day or two of our order and we were surprised that it arrived within 4 days. It was an extremely easy experience for us, but your mileage may vary based on proximity to artist and their responsiveness. Highly recommend!
