A Cautionary Tale: Order Paid, Never Received
I placed an order for a salamander stove and installation kit with Casa Alves on 28 July 2026, paying €713 in full. The order was placed via WhatsApp/online.
After two failed delivery attempts by their chosen courier, I provided a specific delivery address and contact person. I was also told that if delivery failed again, the item would be returned to their warehouse and I would be refunded.
On 13 August, delivery failed again due to communication issues with the contact person. However, the courier's website shows the item as "delivered" – which is false, as it was never delivered to the address or person I specified. I have no idea where my order is.
Since then, I've sent multiple emails to Casa Alves with no response. They only said they would "look into it with the courier," but have offered no solution. To make matters worse, they have still not issued a receipt or invoice for the purchase.
I am now requesting a full refund under Portuguese consumer law, as the item was never delivered and the responsibility lies with Casa Alves, who hired the courier.
Would I recommend? Not based on this experience. If you order from them, be aware that if something goes wrong, you may be left without your money or your goods, with no communication from the company.
