Review of Enterprise

Rented a couple of times from…

Rented a couple of times from Enterprise with mixed results. The first time everything was ok until I received a notice of an admin charge for a parking ticket. They informed me they had given my details to the car park owners. I never received the parking fine. When I queried the fine with Enterprise, the parking charge was paid by me over the car park app which I had proof of. I sent them the proof but they still tried to pursue me for the admin charge.
For the second booking I was asked to arrive 15 mins early as the office closed at midday on the Sunday. I arrived 20 mins early and had checked in online beforehand. I was still made to wait 40 mins before eventually getting upgraded to a slightly better car. On the walk round the Enterprise rep noted that one of the tyre pressure sensors was low, after inspecting the tyre she said the sensor just needed recalibrating and re set the pressure sensors monitor. After driving the car for 5 minutes the low pressure sensor came back on and I had to fill the tyre with air. The next day was the same and it appeared the tyre had an existing slow puncture. I had taken photos of the low pressure warning the day before and informed Enterprise. They accepted that the slow puncture was existing when I dropped the car off.
I have tried to book another car recently but left it later to book, still over 24 hours notice. The price for the same car over the same period has gone up by £100??
I booked for a later date to see if there was a difference and the price had dropped to the original value. So they charge £100 for a later booking? That and their hidden excess waiver charges and roadside charges has put me off using them again, there’s more hidden charges than Ryanair! I’ve now booked with SixT and got my rental much cheaper.

Review of Jaguar Land Rover

I bought a Jaguar xf Sportbrake 4 years…

I bought a Jaguar xf Sportbrake 4 years ago. I thought it would be my dream car. Turns out it’s a nightmare! Absolute rubbish, the car looks nice, the interior and equipment are good and feels expensive but the engine and associated parts are complete garbage. I’ve spent over 6k keeping it on the road. It’s not just mine, I’ve read articles on countless forums saying their engines are crap, more like horror stories, when you read about how much people have had to spend on their not very old cars! Piston rings getting worn on cars with less than 50k miles. Timing chains getting stretched with low mileage, the list is endless. And the parts are ridiculously expensive for poorly engineered crap. It’s not just the Jags either. When I got towed home after my turbo went, the AA driver told me he’d been working for the AA for two years and in that time, he couldn’t remember a single week where he didn’t have a Range Rover on the back of his truck! Every mechanic I’ve spoken to have said the same, avoid like the plague! I wish I had. Buying German from now on.

Review of Richford Motor Services Ltd

Broke down on the A1 at 19.20 on…

Broke down on the A1 at 19.20 on Thursday evening. Phoned the AA and the job was subbed out to the jokers. Was told they’d be with me in 60 mins. Then informed via app they’d be 15 mins late. Then at 21.45 got a phone call to say they’d be another 30 mins. 30 mins later got another call to say they’d be another 30 mins. At 23.15 was expecting another call but didn’t even get that this time. At 23.35 the recovery turned up with a low loader to try to repair my car. He told me he’d been recovering another motorist from the A1 and had dropped them at Markham Moor truck stop to wait to be recovered to their final destination in Huddersfield. They’d been quoted at least another 2 hours for a recovery truck, even though he was in a perfectly good recovery truck!
He couldn’t start my car and informed me I’d need to be recovered, however it wouldn’t be him as he was too busy! I only needed to go 60 miles into Derbyshire. He told me seeing as they would have to wait at least 2 hours I’d have to wait longer as I had a bigger vehicle, even though his truck was perfectly adequate to recover me!
I called the AA back and they got a recovery truck to me in the hour at 12.55am and stood Richford down.
We then had to recover the other AA member who Richford had cleared from the A1 and dumped at the services. After dropping them off at Huddersfield I finally got dropped off in Derbyshire at 05.10. 10 hours to be recovered 60 miles!
Why the AA use the clowns is beyond me. Disgraceful outfit!

Ordered a pair of Scarpa Manta Tech

Ordered a pair of Scarpa Manta Tech, mainly because of the price but also because I couldn’t get that colour or my size in the U.K.
Ordered on the 10/01 and arrived 22/01.
Great communication from them and when I queried the customs taxes got a reply straight away.
Just be aware, you’ll pay excise duty now we’ve left the EU.
Even with the excise duty/taxes the boots still came in cheaper.
Excellent service, definitely recommend.
