Review of International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ)
A taste of Argentina
Had a great experience in BA . I went through IVHQ and they have a great organization they work with in BA.UTS.Everything was easy and stress free process arriving at hostel .There was good communication prior to travelling and pick up at airport went smoothly. The clinic I was working in was a perfect fit as I'm a retired physiotherapist and have a lot of experience . I felt I was of some use to the patients even though it was only 2 weeks.I met some great people.I was by far the oldest volunteer in the hostel but enjoyed meeting all the young enthusiastic volunteers from different countries and everyone was very friendly. It was a great base to have in BA and I travelled to Patagonia and Igazu solo after the program which went really well.I was able to leave my excess baggage at the hostel and return there between trips .it felt like I had a home in BA.I took private tango lessons and found a great Iyengar yoga studio Also went to see Tosca in the fabulous opera house. Managed ok with my Spanish but it's different from Castilian Spanish but u get used to it once u realize ll is pronounced as che.I loved the buzz in BA and all the wonderful art and culture .Figuring out the exchange rates for your euros was a bit of an eye opener the blue rate and the official rate !Prepare to queque in a western union line to get the most pesos for your euros. This also was an interesting experience but u just have to go with it.
