Review of ChargePoint

ChargePoint half the usual charge rate

ChargePoint at Southgate, MI is unreliable. Sometimes it charges at 6 kW as it should while other times it only charges at 3 kW. Maybe they designed a two-car station to only handle one car at a time? That makes no sense but even if, today after the second car left my charge rate stayed at 3 kW.

App won’t allow managing preset recordings

App gives you poor control over the DVR. A special program delayed the programs that follow so we knew we either had to extend the recording time or set it to record the next program. The app would not extend the time and it would not record the news which was the next program. So we called tech support but only got to talk to AI which said they couldn’t do it either. We could only do it on the TV. We’re out-of-town so we just lose half of the program we set to record. You’d think they could automatically extend the time when the program is delayed from its scheduled time.

Sudoku discards your half-finished game!

Sudoku is a good game but one I don’t often finish all at once. Even though you have to log in to play, if you have to do something else for a while or want to finish it tomorrow, the half-finished game disappears! Very annoying & frustrating.

Apple Watch 10 problems

Good features and customer support efforts but many hours of phone and in-person attempts to solve problems never worked for long. The main problem is there seems to be no way to manage and consistently get alerts for text messages on watch, iphone, or ipad. There either were no alerts on anything or you could not hear the alerts. The other problem is my wife's phone started not being able to tell it's on her arm and now continually requires her to enter the code to use it. And you pretty much have to charge them every day. The return policy is too short and they quibbled about whether it's a software or hardware problem and will not replace anything and the trade-in allowance for a 1yr old watch is very low. We've had multiple Apple computers, iphones, & ipads but for us these watches were a costly mistake and sours us on Apple going forward.

Review of AT&T

AT&T expenses will bite you

We thought we were getting Apple wifi watches from an AT&T store to use with our new iphones. Months later we realized they had been charging us every month for separate phone lines on each watch so we promptly canceled those lines after wasting over $200. Nothing was ever said about the extra phone lines & what they cost. Now we realize that we ALSO lost over $200 more because without the extra phone lines they now aren't going to give us the $300 discount we expected for buying two watches! We've always had to call AT&T a couple times every year to undo the inventive ways they keep raising our rates on TV, Internet, & Wireless services.

Big improvement

Problem #4 was solved completely when you provided a keycard. It works easy & fast and I don't even need to use my iphone & your app to start charging! Thank you!

1) Your app won't let us provide generic feedback without a MAC station address. I looked up a local station & your app won't tell us that.

2) Your app & website do not provide an email address for you so I had to call your support & wait on hold so long that I gave up. More google searching found an email address you no longer support.

3) I understand your new policy of putting a hold on our creditcard upfront to make sure you get paid. However, when a store provides a free charging station to its customers it is not necessary to do that with my creditcard. And I want to be assured upfront that I won't be and can't be charged at a free station. I don't want to have to deal with getting charged in error afterwards.

4) It's been very difficult to use your app at a station to get it to start charging, & sometimes you're stuck for a long time in freezing weather trying to get it to work.

Very good easy-to-use app

This is a good app for tracking your diet & basic nutrition items. I like to use the website but it does not search & find things you've eaten before as well as the phone app.

Scam popups

While viewing ads in order to enter sweepstakes scam pages keep opening. One ends in .top that wants you to answer 9 questions. Why is PCH.com allowing this on their website? No wonder they are filing for bankruptcy - you can’t treat customers this way.

Links to questionnable companies

I've been reading Reader's Digest cover to cover for years but they don't seem to care about us when they promote & provide links to questionnable or even shady companies/websites/products. Today's email promoted 30+ Discounts and "Special Benefits" Seniors Are Entitled To. I want them to be able to offset costs with ads, but it's disappointing to see Reader's Digest pushing this collection of ads on vulnerable seniors.

Hidden Return Costs & Bad Customer Service

When a swimsuit came back in stock, they shipped without notifying me and chose the wrong color and print. I would never have chosen what they sent. If I'd have known the return fees, I would've donated the suit to a charity. Why would anyone pay more to return something than they originally paid? Never again!!!

Poor customer service when selling your car

I wondered how their offer to buy my car might change on the pickup day. If you over report minor flaws trying to be honest, they will not adjust the offer upward but they will lower the offer or reject it if they think you under-reported flaws. Then I asked what the pickup fee is for a zip code. Customer Service will not tell you that cost until you submit all the legal documents they want. Their offer means nothing until you know what they charge to pick up your car! This and the reviews convinced me to not do business with Carvana. I have no confidence in what would happen on the day I pick up a new car from another dealer and have to count on Carvana to be there, not surprise me with a revised offer, and write a valid check that won't bounce.

Hard to get my free movie rental

Had a free movie rental but could not view or rent using directv.com nor the Directv app on iphone. Called Cust. Service & apparently can only do that on the TV even though they say otherwise elsewhere. The TV rentals don’t show the prices without clicking on every single movie. Then when I clicked to record, there was no confirmation that it would be a charge so I tried a few more. You have to try to watch it AFTER it was downloaded before you have to confirm that you’re renting it. Now I have to go through the other recordings to find the ones with a rental fee and delete those recordings. I can’t think of a better way to irritate your customers!

Suspicious Survey phone call

Survey link on receipt to enter drawing for $1000 giftcard would not ask questions in English. Called & got 866-219-5606 to call for the survey which I did on 3-19-22 at about 9:30am. A man with a bad accent asked for my name, address, phone, birthday & credit card number. I said you don't need all that to do a survey! I asked for a supervisor but none was available. I wonder what he would have done if I had given him all of that personal info?

Worst customer service for credit card

Worst customer service for credit card. No one seems to know much & keep passing you around where you start over every time struggling to get through a terrible phone menu each time only to be passed on yet again. In two days I had recorded about 8 phone nos. and spoke with over a dozen different people. When I was assured the cards would arrive in 7-10 days I got an email confirming that they were sending me the wrong cards! Had to start all over again.
