Mixed Experience – One great plant, and one damaged

My order arrived quite quickly (6 days to France) and was well packaged, which I really appreciated. The Caryota Mitis arrived in good condition and looks absolutely lovely.

However, I'm disappointed with the Pachira plant. Several leaves were damaged during transit, and some also had older damage (holes and scratches) that clearly didn’t happen during shipping. While I’m confident I can nurse it back to health, it’s not quite what I was expecting in terms of quality.

Overall, the delivery speed and packaging were great, but the Pachira's condition was disappointing. I’m not sure if I would order again from this website.

Dear Méliké,

Thank you for your honest feedback. It is great to hear that the delivery to France went smoothly and that you are happy with your new Caryota Mitis! 🌿

On the other hand, I am very sorry to read that the Pachira did not meet our quality standards and that there was damage present before shipping. This is certainly not the experience we wish for our fellow plant lovers. We are very sorry to hear that you are hesitant to order from us again, and we would like to make this right. Could you please send an email to support@plnts.com with some photos of the Pachira and your order number? We will then look into a suitable solution together.

Thank you again for sharing your experience.

Kind regards,

Team PLNTS 🌱

Review of Interior Design Academy of Ireland

What I wish I had known before enrolling

I hesitated before writing this review, but I believe an honest review will help future students (especially since the academy often asks for reviews from students who have just started).

I enrolled in the BA Interior Design course in 2020. I was told that “Based on 15 hours per week, the duration of this course is approximately 18 months to 36 months and could be up to a maximum of 48 months for completion.”The flexibility, affordable price, and the fact that the Bachelor’s degree was recognised in France (where I live) convinced me to enrol.

I was ready to study 30–35 hours per week, so I expected to finish within three years. However, after five months of studying for around 30 hours per week, I had completed only 5 of 45 assignments. I raised my concerns several times to the student team, but did not feel heard. Many assignments were very long and repetitive, and some briefs were unclear, which led to failed submissions and resits.

After one year, I realised the BA would take at least four years, so I downgraded to the HND. I received a partial refund, but still lost €1000 due to increased fees and not being refunded at the original price, despite being misled about the workload.

The academy has since stopped promoting the course as achievable in 15 hours per week and has improved the assignment briefs. However, for me, the damage was done.

In my opinion, the HND may take around three years and the BA four years — but only if you can commit at least 35 hours per week with very few breaks. It is a very independent and sometimes isolating course, with repetitive and lengthy assignments that can take 4–6 months to complete.

One of the main positives was the Portuguese tutors — especially my tutor, Rita — who were kind, supportive, and professional. They are the reason I did not give only one star.

I graduated from the HND after five years (including one year off to care for my baby, studying around 25 hours per week). I am proud of finishing, as the majority of students dropped out.

Overall, I would not recommend enrolling with IDAI / BAID. I invested a lot of time and money in a qualification that is not recognised in France. While I gained skills, many were self-taught.

After graduating, I was not offered internship opportunities as I do not live in Ireland. I also waited seven months for my diploma and only received it after contacting Pearson directly, who confirmed it had been sent to the academy months earlier. It was only found after I formally complained.

I hope this review helps others make a truly informed decision — a chance I feel I didn’t have when I enrolled.

Hi Méliké,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience so openly. We are sorry to hear that aspects of your journey did not meet your expectations.

Student feedback is very important to us, and we regularly review our course guidance, assignment briefs, and support processes to ensure study expectations and progression remain clear and supportive. Our HN and BA programmes have also recently been updated to include a more structured assessment journey and an enhanced submission and feedback process, providing clearer guidance and support at each stage of study.

We are very pleased to hear your positive comments about our tutors, especially Rita. We will be sure to pass your kind words on to the academic team.

Congratulations on completing your HND, particularly while balancing personal commitments. That is a significant achievement, and we wish you every success moving forward.

Kind regards,
Pia

Great concept, but the reality tells a different story!

Great concept, but the reality tells a different story!
I have only used Rover once and, I must say I haven’t had a good experience with the app. Firstly, I had to message several sitters who supposedly had “100% response rate” before getting an actual response.

When I finally managed to book a sitter, I ended up having a bad experience with him. I had asked the sitter to not give a long walk to my dog in high temperature, but he still decided to take my dog on a 3-hour hike while it was 29°C (=86°F) outside!

After realising that the sitter had written a dishonest public response, I have contacted customer service to edit my review. They refused because apparently, "they can't modify a review if the owner made a spelling error, or any other error related to the layout of the review, or in the rare cases where a communication error has occurred between an owner and dog sitter resulting in unwarranted negative review”.

Rover seems to care more about money than the safety of our pets. Needless to say that I have deactivated my account!

Amazing customer service

I've been using Beauty bay for years and never had any issues until now... I've just moved house and didn't realise that my delivery address on Paypal was registered at my old address until I've placed my order with Beauty Bay. I've emailed customer service to ask if they could amend the delivery address and got a response straight away (at 9pm!). They've managed to contact the Dispatch team who amended my delivery address and shipped my order without delay. Thank you so much!

The customer service is nonexistant

I've placed an order for 4 items but the parcel never got delivered (even if the tracking number showed as 'delivered'). 3 phonecalls later and after being held on the phone for more than 30 minutes I finally managed to talk to a human being. I've had to file in a claim form proving that I haven't received the parcel and sent a copy of my ID. I was told that I will have to wait 7 working days to get a replacement order.
I've just received another email today notifying me that UO has just received my 'return' and that my refund has been processed. I assume that Royal Mail didn't bother delivering my order properly and returned it after a claim was raised. UO didn't take the time to even check their notes on the system indicating that I wanted a replacement order (not a refund).
You think that's enough but it doesn't end there. After UO received my email enquiring about the status of "my" return they've sent me another email notifying that "my order" (1 item out 4 ordered) has been dispatched. What happened to the other 3 items paid for? Did they process any refund for them? Have they planned on shipping 1 item every week? Who knows! Their customer service seems nonexistant and I am not sure if I will ever find out.
