On 28 August, PaxOcean and NYK Line signed a shipbuilding contract for a new Service Operation Vessel (SOV), marking another milestone in the advancement of offshore wind support capabilities in Asia. Based on ULSTEIN’s SX222 design, the 89.6-metre vessel will be built at PaxOcean Graha yard in Batam, Indonesia. Designed to support the construction and operation of offshore wind farms in Taiwan and across the Asia-Pacific region, the vessel will feature a motion-compensated gangway and accommodation for up to 120 persons, providing a stable and efficient platform for technicians working offshore. This project brings together NYK Line, Hsin Chien Marine, IOVTEC, Ulstein Design & Solutions AS, and PaxOcean, combining offshore wind operating experience, vessel design expertise and shipbuilding capabilities. For PaxOcean, a member of Kuok Maritime Group, Hull No.8068 builds on our specialised newbuilding track record and further strengthens our engineering, system integration and construction capabilities for offshore wind vessels. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹 — 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗼 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲. At PaxOcean, we believe a strong safety culture is built not only through standards and procedures, but through leadership, participation, open communication and shared ownership. By strengthening collaboration between HSE, Production, Contractor Partners and our stakeholders, we continue to embed safety into the way we plan, work and make decisions every day. Mid-Autumn represents reunion (团圆), while safety is strengthened through unity (团结). 𝗔𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗟𝗡𝗚𝗖 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝘅𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗺 PaxOcean is proud to announce the successful completion and delivery of 𝗘𝗞𝗔𝗣𝗨𝗧𝗥𝗔 𝟭, a 135,642 cbm Moss-type LNG carrier owned by PT Humolco LNG Indonesia, following a comprehensive repair project at our Batam yard. Over the course of one month, our teams carried out a wide range of works, including the overhaul of the main turbine, turbine generator, feedwater pump, HD/LD compressors, cargo and spray pumps, alongside external hull ballasting and painting, propeller polishing, CTMS upgrade, and outfitting works. A project of this complexity requires specialised expertise, meticulous coordination, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. The breadth of works completed on 𝗘𝗞𝗔𝗣𝗨𝗧𝗥𝗔 𝟭 demonstrates PaxOcean Batam’s ability to deliver multi-disciplinary repair works for LNG carriers. With all works successfully completed, 𝗘𝗞𝗔𝗣𝗨𝗧𝗥𝗔 𝟭 is now ready to resume her operations and continue serving the #LNG trade. With five shipyards across Singapore, Indonesia and China, our capabilities span the entire vessel lifecycle, from newbuilding and ship repair to conversions, modular solutions and green recycling projects. We are continuously building our capabilities to take on more complex projects and serve new vessel segments, including our growing experience in #LNG and offshore wind projects. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆? For PaxOcean, the journey starts from within. Over the past 5 years, we have been strengthening our sustainability foundations – from ESG reporting and governance, to energy efficiency, renewable energy, new technologies and greener maritime solutions. This commitment is also reflected in 𝟱 𝗝𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗻, our new Singapore shipyard, which has attained 𝗕𝗖𝗔 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗺 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝘄 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 (𝗦𝗟𝗘) 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, together with the 𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗱𝗴𝗲. Designed with sustainability in mind, the 17.26-hectare facility incorporates large-scale solar PV panels, energy-efficient systems, and smart energy management, with a roadmap towards further electrification and greener operations. But meaningful maritime decarbonisation cannot be achieved alone. That was the spirit behind the inaugural 𝗣𝗮𝘅𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, held under the theme “Charting Decarbonisation: Navigating the Maritime Energy Transition.” Bringing together around 170 participants from regulators, shipowners, industry partners, and the wider maritime community, the event created a space to exchange views on the opportunities and challenges shaping the maritime energy transition. From regulatory developments to PaxOcean’s sustainability journey, the evolving role of sustainability as a business priority, and real-world examples of turning #ESG strategy into action, one message came through clearly: 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. The 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗖𝗦𝗔), an industry-leading initiative spearheaded by Kuok Maritime Group, reflects the importance of bringing together organisations across the maritime ecosystem to accelerate digitalisation and decarbonisation. This collaborative spirit was also reflected at our 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲, where 16 exhibitors presented technologies, solutions and initiatives supporting decarbonisation, energy efficiency, renewable energy and environmental stewardship.
