Skill 4.8.0 - **Devin and Replit Agent.** `npx impeccable install` sets the skill up for Devin on the web, in the CLI and on Desktop, and accepts `windsurf` as another name for it. A project with a `.replit` file is read as Replit Agent, so the installer names it, not Codex CLI, when it writes to `.agents`. Thanks to @faocampo and @Kodylow for asking. - **Findings on the pull request.** In a GitHub Actions job, `impeccable detect --github` turns each finding into an annotation on the line that caused it. `--list-rules` prints every rule with its category and description, and `--scope` or `--no-advisory` narrows the list. Thanks to @mvanhorn for both. - **A second look at hard offset shadows.** A crisp shadow pushed 4px or more is flagged as an advisory, not a failure, because it can be a deliberate neobrutalist choice. Keep one with `data-impeccable-ignore="hard-offset-shadow"`. Thanks to @mager for the contribution. - **Cursor checks the edit it just made.** The design hook runs after each write instead of gating it, with one scan per edit. `update` and `doctor --fix` move an existing hook over. - **Hooks find your projects.** A session started in a folder above your projects now gets the end-of-session review for each project it edited. Codex hooks in your user folder are detected, and `doctor` checks their launcher. Thanks to @Shandy1972v. - **Checked engine downloads.** The launcher, the npm package and `install` compare each engine download with a list of digests committed alongside the skill, not one published next to the file, and refuse a binary that does not match. Thanks to @jojig-dao for the design. - **Installs that hold up.** A slow download waits as long as data keeps arriving, instead of failing at 120 seconds. If an update cannot reach the bundle, your installed skills stay as they are. Every Windows `.cmd` ships with CRLF line endings, Copilot global hooks work on Windows, and the commands Impeccable prints run in PowerShell. - **Live mode.** Tune values survive closing the panel and reloading the page (thanks to @mager). Patching a page's Content-Security-Policy meta tag no longer corrupts the file, and phones no longer raise the keyboard when live mode loads. - **Fewer false alarms.** `straggler` measures the last word instead of estimating it, and sees a `text-wrap: pretty` that Firefox dropped (thanks to @stedmanhalliday for both). `design-system-radius` no longer reads the numbers inside `calc()`, `min()` or `max()` as radii (thanks to @iamceph). Text dimmed by a stepper's resting state is an advisory, while text a script parked mid-reveal still counts. In a monorepo, each file's design tokens come from its own package first. A negative value in a margin shorthand is no longer lost. Legal and footnote blocks are exempt from line length and tiny text. URL scans skip cookie notices, splash gates and hidden mockups, and contrast reads gradient text and dark surfaces correctly. Images set through `srcset` count, and `cramped-padding` sees through a transparent wrapper (thanks to @BibaPutt). - **Side stripes on table rows.** A colored stripe down one side of a status row or cell now reports as a side tab, in URL scans as well as file scans, and an `!important` reset stands it down. - **Arabic-script text.** `harden` now covers ZWNJ, Yeh and Kaf variants, local digits and calendars for Arabic-script languages. Thanks to @FawwazLawal. - **Fixes.** Ask for more directions than the weighing supports and new work shows the ones that earned a place and says so, instead of padding the hand (thanks to @tehzunm-ctrl). `**/` in an ignore pattern stops at folder boundaries, so one waiver no longer skips an unrelated page. Live mode starts in a page that blocks storage. Audit's contrast and touch-target checks match WCAG AA. Thanks to @srobroek.
CLI 4.8.0 - **GitHub Actions annotations.** `--github` prints each finding as an annotation on the line that caused it. Thanks to @mvanhorn. <pre>`npx impeccable@latest detect --github src/`</pre> - **The rule list.** `--list-rules` prints every rule without scanning, as text or `--json`. - **Devin and Replit Agent.** `install` accepts `devin` and `windsurf`, and names Replit Agent when a project has a `.replit` file. - **Steadier installs.** `install` and `update` wait on an idle connection instead of a fixed 120 seconds, and an update with no network keeps the skills you have. The engine binary is checked against digests committed with the package before it runs. - **The current detector.** Engine 0.1.18 brings the hard offset shadow advisory and every accuracy fix in skill v4.8.0.
Skill 4.7.0 - **Critique and audit desktop apps.** Start an Electron, NW.js, CEF or WebView2 app with a debugging port and `impeccable detect --cdp 9222` scans the window you have open, as it stands, and leaves it exactly as it found it. Critique and audit know the recipe. - **Two new typography checks.** `straggler` catches a paragraph that ends on one lonely word, and `unbalanced-heading` a heading whose last line is a stub. `text-wrap: balance` and `pretty` stand them down where they fix the problem. - **Fewer false alarms on real pages.** Labels that look like buttons, card numbers, code samples that scroll, text behind curtain footers and pass-through overlays, light copy on a dark halo, and frosted glass now read the way a visitor sees them. Border accents are judged per selector, not by how many blank lines sit nearby. - **A lighter skill.** The description that loads into every session is 30% shorter, and it now picks up requests to write a DESIGN.md or document a design system. Older command files lost their shouted CRITICAL and NEVER banners, and polish passes are no longer cut off after two rounds outside a full build. - **Review pages follow dark mode.** The decision and review pages match your OS appearance, while comps and captures keep their own backgrounds. - **Monorepos pick the right app.** `context` offers only workspaces that render a UI as targets, not tsconfig, lint or script packages. - **Fixes.** Live mode starts on a LAN or Tailscale address over plain HTTP. Decision cards render in WebKit in-app browsers, and no longer get stuck on pending when the page loads many images at once. Discarding a variant whose wrapper lost its original no longer deletes the element. An interrupted engine download cleans up after itself, on Windows too.
CLI 4.7.0 - **Desktop and webview apps.** Point `--cdp` at a local debugging port, and use `--target` to pick a window when there are several. <pre>`npx impeccable@latest detect --cdp 9222 --target "My App"`</pre> - **The current detector.** Engine 0.1.16 brings the new typography checks and every accuracy fix in skill v4.7.0.
Skill 4.6.0 - **Oh My Pi.** `npx impeccable install` sets the skill up for Oh My Pi next to the other harnesses. - **An off switch that means it.** `impeccable telemetry off` (or `DO_NOT_TRACK`) stops every choice report, and nothing telemetry-only is sent or stored. Rolls still work. Your picks are reported only when you make them, and no committed file holds a key that ties a roll to your repository. - **Findings on what visitors actually see.** Screen-reader-only headings, cards turned away, slivers and hidden forms no longer raise findings. Contrast reads the real surface behind text, including deep hero photos, filters and fades held by scroll position. Clipped icon labels and flush edges are measured where they paint. - **The design hook stays out of your commits.** The Claude Code hook installs into your user settings, so the project's shared `.claude/settings.json` never picks up a path from your home folder. It is also found from a nested git worktree. - **Critique on native apps.** On iOS, Android and adaptive projects, critique runs the design review on its own instead of reporting an empty web scan as clean. - **Fixes.** `--version` shows the installed skill, so a successful update no longer looks like a failed one. `detect` honors the engine you configured for an extension and says when a file got the regex scan only. Design-system fonts keep their `var()` fallbacks, and long boot output stays inside agent output limits.
CLI 4.6.0 - **Install works on Node 18.19 and later.** The package no longer asks for Node 22.18, so npm stops falling back to the old CLI. <pre>`npx impeccable@latest install`</pre> - **The current detector, and Oh My Pi.** `detect` runs engine 0.1.15 with every finding fix in skill v4.6.0, and `install` can target Oh My Pi.
