Hi, I'm Jake. 👋
I'm a senior software engineer with over a decade of experience building and shipping production systems with React, Ruby, Elixir, Python, and PostgreSQL in small, high-trust teams.
Outside of software, I make music, meditate, and go on long walks with a heavy backpack.
I work full time as a senior software engineer, shipping thoughtful software, learning in public, and helping others grow through mentorship and high engineering standards.
I'm available for consulting work and publicly release software projects and talks as often as I can.
I share what I'm learning in two places:
Formally and informally, I jump at opportunities to help people grow. I teach bootcamps, mentor 1:1, and work with dozens of engineers at different stages of their careers.
I organize the Maine JS Meetup, which has grown into an engaged, highly technical group helping strengthen the Maine tech scene.
