test(bep): pin the release gate on the audit segment override
PASS_WITH_CONDITIONS
Baseline. This re-reviews 4a14c961 against the PASS_WITH_CONDITIONS on 32c9be04 (this PR), on the same arch 8640f85e. The checkout has no arch-map.md, and no findings.json was staged. since.diff is empty. 32c9be04 is not an ancestor of the head, but both commits have the tree 285da145. The compare 7bf1bb63..da512787 and 32c9be04..4a14c961 rewrites only the committer and rewraps the commit messages. pr.diff equals git diff 79c50305 4a14c961. So the ruling on 32c9be04 stands for every line.
Governs: architecture.md line 505 (the min box Audit paragraph). Un-enrolled, min box audit reads the helper's hash-chained local log. That log is append-only and outlives the box, and whole-log chain verification is a min doctor check. Gatehouse §6.10 line 836 says the same from the helper's side. The design says nothing about the segment size bound. It is a debug-only test surface.
Ruling: The bound is in the owner (crates/bep/src/main.rs, open_audit_log → audit_rotation_for), and a release build ignores the override (rule 7). The unit test proves rotation with the chain intact and pins the release gate (rule 3). The e2e case keeps every step hard. It moves the real log aside, restores it on every exit, and verifies the chain only through min doctor. One item stays open, as on every earlier head: no live run reached steps 3 to 5 (rule 4). C1 names it, and #2798 owns it as a filed residual. No departure from precedent.
Not checked: I could not confirm that #2798 exists, because gh is not on this host. The PR body links it. I did not build or run the case.
