fix: Treat plain-directory patch sources as recursive globs - #1541
norrietaylor merged 2 commits into
Conversation
A patch source that names an existing directory without glob metacharacters (e.g. source = "~/.test2") expanded to a FileSet whose pattern matched only the directory itself, so the walker yielded no files and the patch silently did nothing. Detect that case after expansion and append /**/* so it behaves identically to the explicit glob form.

the require_absolute directory check must use the unescaped normalized path for
filesystem operations, while preserving the escaped pattern passed to FileSet.
Track whether the raw path contains active glob syntax separately, ensuring
literal bracket names such as [X] are treated as filesystem paths while
generated escape sequences remain non-active.

…ively Minimal 0.6.0 (c6ba0735, gominimal/minimal#1541) copies a plain directory patch source's whole tree; 0.5.4 silently copied nothing. A missing loadout patch source is still dropped with a warning on 0.6.0, so that sentence stands.
