Harp 0.1.8: Codex shows when it waits on you
- A Codex session waiting for an approval or an answer now shows "needs you" in its row instead
of a finished turn. Codex has no plugin Harp can load, but it marks the wait in its terminal
title ("Action Required"), and Harp reads that, with nothing to set up.
- The waiting row keeps the task's name; Codex's "Action Required" prefix no longer shows in it.
- script/release_status_check gains a case for Codex's approval prompt.
Harp 0.1.7: agent status out of the box, for Claude Code and Codex - Claude Code's status works on a fresh install. Harp ships its own Claude Code plugin (based on Warp's, MIT) and loads it for each Claude Code started in Harp through CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_DIRS. Nothing is installed into ~/.claude. Before, the status needed Warp's plugin, which only Warp's hidden agent toolbar installs, so new users saw no rings at all. - The plugin also reports background work, questions and permission dialogs, so a row keeps its background dot after a turn and shows "needs you" for an AskUserQuestion. - If Warp's own plugin is installed too, Harp uses its own plugin's reports and drops the copies. - Without a plugin (Codex, an older Claude Code, one started outside a Harp shell) the row still shows working and done, read from the spinner the agent sets in its terminal title. - A just-started agent shows an empty ring and "Ready" instead of a finished turn's tick, and the agent's own title glyph (Claude's ◐ and ✳, Codex's spinner) no longer shows in the row. - script/release_status_check runs a fresh install against real Claude Code and Codex sessions before each release.
Harp 0.1.6: a rename shows in its row, Claude notifications that open… … the chat - A tab renamed in the sidebar now shows that name in its row. An old pane name, which the previous Panes view could save by accident, no longer wins over it, and an untouched pane rename field counts as cancel. - Notifications for a Claude Code session that waits on you, without tmux. They open the chat; answering from the notification comes later, once an answer is bound to its one request. Off by default. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Harp 0.1.5: pinned sessions, a footer that keeps the sidebar's width,… … row ages - Pin sessions to the top of the sidebar. A tmux session keeps its pin on the session, any other tab uses the tab's own pin, which Harp already restores. - The limit footer shows names only when they fit and never widens the sidebar. - Every row shows its age on the right. - A background agent's permission dialog is answered only by the same tool on the same target. Harp 0.1.4: the sidebar starts the way Harp is designed - Tabs view by default: one row per tab. The old default (Warp's "Panes") boxed the active tab in a square grey fill and turned a tab rename into a heading above the row, and the sidebar had no switch to leave it. - Warp's AI is off by default. Harp opens without Warp's login, so Warp's AI could not work and its controls were only noise. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Harp 0.1.3: limit rings out of the box, "needs you" that stays, a car… …d that rises in - The limit rings show Claude and Codex on a fresh install. Codex's numbers come from its own session logs, Claude's from Claude Code's status line, which Harp sets up once if you have none. Nothing is fetched and no credential is read. - A permission dialog of a background agent no longer flips back to "working" when another agent finishes a tool. - The limit card rises in with its numbers counting up, and is opaque.
Let Harp update itself from its GitHub releases (0.1.2) Harp checks this repo's latest release, downloads the DMG, accepts it only when it is signed by Harp's team and installs it on quit or relaunch. The update buttons now say Harp, and the empty status ring is visible in dark mode.
Harp: an unofficial fork of Warp Harp replaces Warp's tab bar with a sidebar built for long-running coding agents (Claude Code, Codex): per-row agent state, groups, tmux sync for names, groups, order and flags, adopting sessions started elsewhere, and usage-limit rings. It ships with its own identity (com.dominikmartn.Harp, harp://, ~/.harp) so it runs next to Warp. Everything else is upstream Warp. This single commit carries the fork's state on top of upstream so the history starts clean. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
