Description

Before: after the #301 refresh, these merged but the README still listed them as in progress or left them out: backups in Settings (#263), the Safari and Firefox clippers (#283, #282), the budget meter and Costs page (#275), prompt marking (#302), HTTPS with automatic certificates (#289), the graph as files (#290) and the browser assistant's server side (#311). The web clipper guide and the updates guide had stale status lines.

After:

  • README feature list: backups in Settings; the meter and Costs page; third-party text marked as data; HTTPS from Let's Encrypt or ZeroSSL; agents browsing the graph as folders and files; the clipper for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
  • README "In progress" rebuilt from today's open PRs (Telegram, Slack, the assistant's email address, the browser side panel, assistant safety, Similar tab, NSFW classification, budget in setup, fewer clicks, upgrade page, HTTPS in Settings, logs, analytics, monitoring, invitations, Lens.app, shares over S3/WebDAV/SMB/NFS, assets naming, Tika).
  • README docs index: adds HTTPS, the assistant in your browser and the graph as files (the nav already has them).
  • docs/web-clipper.md: built for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. docs/updates.md: backups in Settings built, the upgrade page in progress.

Also carries one fix for a red check (see the comment on this PR): FastAPI (SurrealDB server) failed setting up test_who_reaches_notes with SurrealDB's "Transaction retry required: snapshot is older than the commit oracle's GC window". store._retryable didn't count that message as retryable, so the store gave up instead of running the statements again as it does for write conflicts. The fix adds it, with tests/domain/test_store_retry.py (fails without the fix, passes with it).

Motivation and Context

Keeps the README honest as open PRs merge, per Adeel's ask to update the README and feature list; AGENTS.md asks for every red check to be fixed in the PR.

Types of changes

  • Bug fix (the store retry)
  • Documentation otherwise.

Checklist:

  • The title is a Conventional Commit.
  • My code follows the code style of this project (ruff check and format clean).
  • I added or updated tests (tests/domain/test_store_retry.py).
  • Docs updated; mkdocs build --strict clean locally, anchors checked.
  • Changelog entry (n/a: docs, and a retry fix with no visible change)

Done questions (AGENTS.md)

  • Goal: README matches what is merged; merged on green.
  • Agents: n/a, docs and an internal retry.
  • Zero setup: n/a.
  • Fewest clicks: n/a.
  • Configurable: n/a.
  • Light: n/a.
  • Private and secure: n/a, no new surface.
  • Cost: n/a.
  • User decides: n/a.
  • Upgrades: n/a, no stored data changed.
  • Honest: only merged work listed as built; open PRs labelled in progress with their numbers.
  • Tests, docs and generated files: test added, docs build strict.
  • Open standards; dependencies unchanged.
  • Reported in the project thread. Refine later: keep moving items as the remaining PRs merge.

… as built

#263, #283 and #302 merged, so the README lists them as built, the web
clipper guide names Safari as built, and the updates guide says the backups
page is built while the upgrade page is in progress.

On a busy server SurrealDB 3 answers "Transaction retry required: snapshot is
older than the commit oracle's GC window". The store didn't count that as
retryable, so a request (or a test's schema setup) failed instead of running
the statements again, as it already does for write conflicts.

FastAPI (SurrealDB server) failed on 361f759 with an error setting up tests/api/test_notes.py::test_who_reaches_notes: SurrealDB answered the schema setup (DEFINE INDEX IF NOT EXISTS field_space ON field FIELDS space) with "Transaction retry required: snapshot is older than the commit oracle's GC window". This PR's diff is docs only, so the failure isn't caused by it, but the cause is real: store._retryable matches write conflicts and "can be retried", not "retry required", so the store raised instead of running the idempotent statements again.

Fixed in ef5213e (fix(store): run again when SurrealDB says a transaction retry is required), with tests/domain/test_store_retry.py, which fails without the fix and passes with it. Main is merged in as well.
