Description

Before: a tool a teammate shared with your namespace that said effect: read ran in your assistant without asking. That label is only its author's word, and a shared web-request tool can send what you can read to the author's server.

After: another person's tool asks for your approval before it runs, like a change tool. Your own tools, and tools an admin shared, behave as before. This matches the rule hooks already follow.

Motivation and Context

This answers threat-model question Q27 (another person's tool runs only with your yes, unless an admin shared it).

Steps to reproduce (if appropriate):

test_another_persons_tools_ask_first in tests/api/test_extensions.py fails on main and passes here.

Types of changes

  • Bug fix (non-breaking change which fixes an issue)
  • New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality)
  • Breaking change (fix or feature that would cause existing functionality to change; ! in the title)
