Before: several guides predated #166 and other recent work.

  • They said word search lives in SurrealDB, and that the assistant has no search by meaning.
  • They gave an OpenSearch command that fails with the dev compose file.
  • Configuration never mentioned search.engine.
  • Some guides used out-of-date Settings section names and an incomplete list of upload types.

After: these guides match the code.

  • Configuration: a new Word search section (search.engine, the OpenSearch settings, stemming), the full list of app settings, GET /setup/llm/detect, the Storage wizard step choosing where Lens keeps its files, and the Office, text and email upload types.
  • Database: the SurrealDB index-repair notes are scoped to the surrealdb engine, and the OpenSearch command is fixed.
  • Assistant, processing, encryption, storage, technology:
    • The assistant combines word search with search by meaning, and Home sends a question on Enter.
    • Prefix search is not supported on any engine, and the guide now says so.
    • The guides say correctly what is and isn't encrypted.
    • Storage connections are on the Sources page.
    • The technology list covers passkeys, SQLite FTS5, rdflib, OpenTelemetry, llama.cpp, BlockSuite, React Flow and ONNX.

How: each change was checked against store.py, settings/model.ts, chat.py, textindex.py and the compose files. mkdocs build --strict is clean.
