Serialize native STT sends and send the stop frame before close.
Native calls invoke secure_socket_send independently. The backend serializes individual writes but does not preserve the order of concurrent invocations. Queued audio can therefore be written before the start frame. disconnect removes the sender and invokes secure_socket_close independently, so close can precede an in-flight send. It also omits { action: "stop" }, unlike the WebSocket path.
Queue native operations per socket. Send the stop frame after earlier sends and await it before closing. Add deferred-send tests for start-before-audio and stop-before-close ordering.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Pass the loaded credentials directly to initial discovery.
setCertificatePin(savedPin) does not update the current render closure. If initialIp is empty, the immediate handleAutoDiscoverQuietly() call still sees the initial empty token and pin. Release discovery then rejects every probe because the pin is absent.
Pass savedToken and savedPin into the discovery helper, or start discovery from an effect after credential state changes.

Normalize credentials before every final connection.
The save path trims both credentials, but these connection calls use the raw state values. A pasted newline or space makes native pin validation or token authentication fail.
This also creates inconsistent discovery behavior. checkIpAddress trims the pin, so discovery can succeed before the final connection fails.
Use remoteToken.trim() || undefined and certificatePin.trim() || undefined for every connect call.

Ignore messages from replaced sockets.
closeSocket(id) can race with a queued onMessage callback. Both callbacks emit the reused id without checking the WebSocket identity. A stale payload can therefore enter the replacement connection.
Check sockets[id] === webSocket while holding the module lock before each sendEvent call.

Serialize all access to sockets and pins.
Expo SDK 54 resolves expo-modules-core 3.0.30. AsyncFunction uses a dedicated queue. URLSession delegates use a separate queue, and receiveNext dispatches to the main queue. These paths can access the dictionaries concurrently during reconnect, close, send, or pin validation. Route every read and write through one serial queue or actor.

Bound the TLS handshake with a timeout.
The listener binds 0.0.0.0:9001, so any LAN host can open a TCP connection. tls_acceptor.accept(stream).await has no deadline. A peer that completes the TCP handshake and then sends nothing keeps the spawned task, the socket, and the TLS buffers alive for as long as the process runs. Repeated connections exhaust file descriptors and memory. Wrap the accept in tokio::time::timeout.

Provision BLINKY_REMOTE_TOKEN for release pairing.
Release code never calls generate_remote_token(); only its test does. Without a manually configured token, get_remote_token() returns empty and token_equals() rejects every non-loopback mobile command. Add release startup provisioning and expose the token to pairing, or fail clearly when configuration is missing.

Purpose and merge status
Introduce an explicit release WSS variant for Blinky's mobile-to-PC LAN connection, with native certificate public-key pinning and token authentication. Development retains plain WS compatibility.
Draft for team review/testing—not ready to merge or publicly distribute. This branch is based on
f5c525a(Expo SDK 54). Main wasd4ca36dwhen this PR was prepared and now includes an Expo upgrade, telemetry/Wake-on-LAN, and overlapping mobile/WebSocket edits. Reconcile those changes and rerun tests before merging; current results do not validate that combination.Changes by subsystem / reviewer map
Rust desktop transport
common/src-tauri/src/transport.rs,build.rs: explicit build-time development/release selection; invalid build flag fails rather than silently downgrading. Release remote authentication is required even if no token is configured; loopback remains exempt.tls_identity.rs: persistent self-signed P-256 identity in OS app-datatls/, PEM loading, SHA-256 SPKI pin, native client verification, serialized first-time generation, Unix private-file mode 0600. Identity removal rotates the pin.websocket.rs: serve TLS/WSS on existing port 9001 in release; retain WS in development. Release requires JSON token auth and explicitauth_result; rejects legacy/query-token-only release authentication. Keep existing authenticated command/query and Sarvam proxy routes behind this transport.websocket.rs,lib.rs: native desktop secure-socket connect/send/close commands and events; restrict bridge URLs to local WSS; expose safe transport/pin information to settings.Cargo.toml/Cargo.lock: TLS, certificate, hashing and encoding dependencies (rustls,tokio-rustls,rcgen,rustls-pemfile,sha2,base64) and resolved lockfile updates.Desktop frontend
CommandBar.tsx: release-only pairing section shows/copies the certificate pin.lib/tauri.ts: typed secure transport/bridge wrappers and listener-registration rollback.lib/sarvamStream.ts: optional STT/TTS classes use the native WSS bridge in release; guard stale connection completions, clean up listeners/sockets on cancellation/failure, preserve queued STT session/audio until open.tauri.conf.json: add local WSS CSP allowance; retain existing media data/blob allowance.Mobile UI and lifecycle
App.tsx: remote-token input, release certificate-pin input, native WSS subnet probing, connection parameters, and release secure credential storage. IP stays in AsyncStorage; development retains legacy credential storage.usePCWebSocket.ts,connectionState.ts: release native connection path; require strict boolean positive auth acknowledgement before connected status or commands/queries; deadline includes authentication; preserve rejection/timeout/early-close/send errors; remove listeners/timers and prevent old async failures from overwriting newer connections.Local Expo native module
common/mobile/modules/blinky-secure-socket/: TypeScript API, Expo module metadata, Gradle setup, CocoaPods spec, and native implementations.Build/configuration and docs
package.json,scripts/build-release.ts:bun run build:releaseselects Rust and frontend release flags and forwards Tauri arguments (including--no-bundle).eas.json: explicit development flag, internal release APK profile, production release flag. Existing preview profile is not the WSS release profile.package.json,bun.lock,app.json: release EAS CLI script (eas-cli, noteas), Expo asset dependency/plugin, Bun test types, and EAS project association. Team should verify the configured EAS project belongs to the intended release account before cloud builds.local-docs/WSS-RELEASE.md: standalone build instructions, dated evidence, artifact checksum, and remaining release gates. Unrelated local workflow/architecture documents and root AGENTS.md are intentionally excluded. No binaries, credentials, generated Android project, or build caches are committed.Verification evidence
git diff --checkEarlier Sept 4 physical Wi-Fi testing connected with the correct pin/token and rejected a wrong pin. Server testing rejected missing/wrong credentials, legacy/query-only release auth and plaintext downgrade. Those device results predate the latest APK; please run the checklist below. Mocks are not end-to-end device evidence.

Known limitations / follow-up
iOS merge blocker found during pre-PR review: socket/pin dictionaries are accessed concurrently from Expo async functions, URLSession delegates and main-queue receive callbacks. Serialize this state and validate reconnect/parallel discovery before accepting the iOS implementation. This is a concrete known defect, not just missing device evidence.< 8000 /p>
Full Android app lint has an Expo-audio notification-permission finding; Expo Doctor had dependency/module warnings. These are not claimed fixed by passing module/vital lint.
Linux installer attempt lacked AppIndicator; no-bundle success is not packaging validation. Windows installer and iOS release are not validated here.
Local APK uses debug signing even though it is a release variant. Do not publish it as a production-signed app.
Rate/resource limits, short-lived pairing/token rotation, server-side command authorization/confirmation, end-to-end cancellation, and avoiding provider-key delivery to clients remain separate hardening work. Pinning/WSS does not make the whole application production-secure.
No auto-merge requested. Team testing/review and upstream integration are required before merge.
