[Customer Issue] Can't place an order - getting 500 error #3

Open

Description

@AlahmadiQ8

When I click Place Order I get an Internal Server Error. I've tried multiple times with different items. My cart has items in it but the order just won't go through.\n\nPlease fix this ASAP, I'm hungry!

    Classification: Bug — api-bug
    Severity: High

    Analysis:
    A consistent 500 Internal Server Error on the order placement endpoint (POST /api/orders) indicates a server-side failure. This may be related to a known issue in OrdersController.cs where, under certain API version configurations (API_VERSION=v2), the payment gateway URL points to a non-existent staging endpoint, causing all order submissions to fail.

    Next Steps:

    • The team will verify the current API_VERSION environment variable and payment gateway connectivity on the container app.
    • No additional info needed from the reporter — the symptoms are clear and reproducible.

    ✅ Status: Triaged — Investigating payment gateway configuration
