I build practical AI for education.
Twenty-five years in higher education, most of it running a college learning support center, and now founder of Mu2 Solutions, LLC: AI literacy for rural and underserved communities.
One rule runs through everything here. AI that people can inspect, run themselves, and afford is worth more than AI they rent.
| Project | What it is |
|---|---|
| Sabal | Free, open prep for the Florida Civic Literacy Exam. All 36 tested benchmarks, 2,000+ practice questions. Live at fcle.mu2.solutions. |
| Tupelo Honey | Free, open TEAS and HESI A2 nursing exam prep, 2,500+ questions with a rationale for every answer choice. Live at tupelo.mu2.solutions. |
| Perspective | Chrome extension that coaches critical thinking on any article you read. Runs a small Gemma model entirely on your device. No API key, no account, no server. |
| CareKeeper | Local-first toolkit for keeping an older family member's computer safe and supported, without handing their data to a cloud service. |
| QuickCite | Chrome extension that saves quotes from the web with correctly formatted MLA, APA, or Chicago citations. |
Both study apps are open on a split license: Apache-2.0 for the code, CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 for the content. No accounts, no trial, no premium tier.
Not everything here is open source. I also build and ship systems for other people.
O.R.D.E.R. Platform, built for Re-View Business Strategies, Inc., is a live subscription product that helps founder-led businesses move from founder-dependent to systems-driven. Members get a guided program, a course library and a build-a-tool path on three plans from $49 to $129 a month. Delivered end to end: the application, billing and member accounts, the course content, and the marketing site that sells it.
Self-hosted and local first. I run quantized open models on consumer AMD hardware and publish the GGUF builds for anyone who wants to run them locally. Five of those builds (Molmo2, olmOCR, Tulu 3.1) have passed 1,500 downloads: huggingface.co/mu2solutions.
The stacks I reach for: Python for agent work, llama.cpp / llama-server for local inference, Granite and OLMo when the license has to be bulletproof, and whatever harness lets the model finish the job.
