⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Incredible Private Tour of Chengdu and Leshan!

In Chengdu, visiting the Giant Panda was, of course, unforgettable! But I also loved experiencing the beauty of everyday life in People’s Park. Watching people gather, socialize, dance, relax, and enjoy their day gave me a wonderful glimpse into life in Chengdu. The unique matchmaking tradition, including the famous “blue resumes,” was fascinating and something I would never have discovered on my own.

Sara also introduced me to the local opera which was really a number of performances, including gymnastics singing instruments handed shadows and just a very fun evening. I spent 90 minute literallylaughing and enjoying myself.

And then there was the FOOD! My guide introduced me to incredible local dishes in both Chengdu and Leshan, including cold pot, which was completely new to me. It was such a fun experience to try something I had never encountered before and to learn about the local food culture along the way.

In Leshan, seeing the Leshan Giant Buddha was truly breathtaking. Standing in front of such an enormous and historic work of art was one of the highlights of my time in China. But seeing the statue from the boat really showed the enormity of the Buddha, which was absolutely incredible.!

My guide was knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure I had a wonderful experience. I especially appreciated being able to see Chengdu and Leshan beyond just the typical tourist attractions and to experience the culture, food, people, and history in a much more personal way. She even helped me figure out how to get wine delivered to my hotel and I had the fun experience of having it delivered by a robot.

I highly recommend this private tour to anyone visiting Chengdu. It was an unforgettable day and an experience that gave me memories I will treasure! Five stars without hesitation! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had a group of 14 with kids aged 6-15. The tour was amazing and worked well for our group. The hotels and meals were great. The guides were professional and willing to be flexible with our needs. Wonderful trip to Yunnan in August 2026 including rice terrasses, Lijiang, Shangri-la, hike in Tiger Leaping Gorge, etc... flawlessly arranged by Vivi Chen, with several very friendly guides and drivers. Most enjoyable!

My journey with China Travel started in 2022, when Covid restrictions were just being lifted in China. I went there for work and study, and throughout my 4 year journey in this lovely country China Travel assisted me greatly, especially with domestic trips, specifically flights and bullet train. Vivian, my travel agent, was superb! From booking process to the actual travel itself, I was well looked after. I got timely reminders and speedy help when I once missed my bullet train booking. I fully appreciated China Travel's fantastic knowledge and professional work during the challening covid bookings and searching for travel services when everything still seemed unavailable. China Travel recommended me to do the biking tour of Shanghai, including the cooking lessons (I learned how to make xiao long bao), booked my trips to Nanjing, from Anhui, to Hongkong, frequently flew me to and fro Beijing, and now even back home to Australia which is my most recent flight. Thank you China Travel, and a very big shout out to the best agent Ms Vivan Cen! I highly recommend their service to all of you!

I've brought my family to China for a few times, each visit spanning a few cities. We'd get our private tour package through China Travel. Each time, they'd ensure that they tailored to our tastes and requirements, were flexible and accommodating, gave advice but did not impose. Their guides were fluent in both English and Mandarin, told us stories and kept us entertained and informed. Always organised and no hiccups along the way.

The last trip to Yunnan was no different. Great service, fun places.

We had a great time in China. All of our tour guides in every city were knowledgeable, helpful, and provided exceptional customer service. Vanessa was amazing every step of the way, making our experience seamless so we could simply focus on enjoying our trip. Both Vanessa and our guides were highly responsive and quickly resolved any issues that arose. For example, when the airline misplaced one of our bags, Vanessa and the local guides coordinated directly with the airline to ensure it was delivered to our hotel at our second destination.

We spent 2 amazing days with Daisy in Dali. She made an effort to cater to each of our personalities and preferences. She’s also an excellent photographer who made us feel comfortable taking fun photos and she even took the initiative to create a video montage at the end of the 2 days. Highly recommend her!

China Travel did a great job of helping us coordinate speaking engagements with travel. Our travel guides and drivers were knowledgeable, gracious and kind. We highly recommend their service.

Eric was an excellent guide. He was engaging and maintained a calm disposition at all times. Where suggestions were needed, he always had one, and gave us directions for our free time. He has excellent English.

We had a very enjoyable trip to Guizhou, Hunan and Xinjiang provinces on a private English escorted tour. The guides and drivers were exceptionally caring and we couldn't speak more highly of them.

There is a lot of walking long distances involved. Quite a few spectacular Canyons in Guizhou which involved lots of steps which I personally wouldn't advise if one has bad knees. All the scenic spots are now very well designed and orderly with shuttles, buses and cable cars to reach the area compared to many years ago. The amenities now are also very clean.

On the whole, our hotels were very good too, catering for Asian and Western palate except one which had miserly offerings.

We have no qualms in highly recommending China Highlights to organise tours throughout the country.

I highly recommend China Travel's Zhangjiajie trip. Our local guide Dai was knowledgeable of the area and its customs. However Dai's authenticity really distinguishes her as a person. She exudes fun enthusiasm while seamlessly juggling the times and approaches to our tour. She is flexible and responsive. We will remember Zhangjiajie and Dai. It was by far the best stop of our tour.

As part of our fifth trip to China with China Travel, we visited the following included in our schedule:
Ancient Fenghuang Town icluding boat trip, Zhangjiajie National park, cable car and elevator, Zhanjiajie Glass Bridge, Tianmen Mountain including Glass Walkway. Once again China Travel met our expectations, we had a great time, our guide Eileen was fantastic to deal with, and took my wife's needs into consideration. Highly recommended.

This is our 2nd trip with China Highlights. This time to Lijiang & Shangrila. Booking was very convenient. Carrie was quick to respond to our inquiries and requests. Special mention to our Lijiang tour guide, Eleonor, for making this part of our tour smooth and very enjoyable. She even booked us last minute tickets to the Lijiang Impressions show and still manage to squeeze in all our scheduled itinerary for the day. We had a very enjoyable time that we want to book another Lijiang tour very soon!

Couldn’t say enough on how smooth our trip went. I highly recommend China Travel to anyone wanting to visit China. It’s safe and secure and personal and couldn’t ask for more. We got picked up on every location and got dropped off at all airports or train stations with personal escort. Really pleased with their specialist private service. Will used them again for different regions in China. In Beijing our tour guide Mark was incredible, full of history knowledge.

Helen from Chengdu was wonderful. Very knowledgeable about the pandas, the town. She even taught me how to play Mahjong.
