I had a very disappointing experience with Mindbody and would not recommend the service based on how my contract and cancellation concerns were handled.

When I initially spoke with the salesperson, I came away from the conversation believing I was signing up for a monthly subscription that I could cancel if the service was not a good fit for my small business. During the sales call, it was not made clear to me that I was committing to a 12-month, non-cancelable contract or that, if I wanted to stop using Mindbody, I could potentially be responsible for the remaining payments for the contractual term.

I later learned that the order form I accepted listed a 12-month subscription term. However, my concern throughout this process has been how that commitment was communicated to me during the actual sales process. Had I clearly understood that I was committing to a non-cancelable 12-month agreement, I would not have signed up.

What was especially frustrating was what happened when I tried to cancel after only being with Mindbody for approximately one month. I was initially quoted an early termination buyout of $1,859. As a small, part-time personal training business, being told I could potentially owe $1,859 to get out of a service I had only been using for about a month was extremely concerning.

I repeatedly requested access to the recording of my sales conversation because Mindbody told me that it had reviewed the call and determined that nothing improper or misleading had been communicated. Mindbody would not provide me with the recording, explaining that its recordings are for internal purposes only. In my view, it is frustrating to be told that an internal recording supports the company’s position while not being permitted to review that recording myself.

I also repeatedly requested to speak with or have my concerns escalated to someone higher up. It took multiple emails and follow-ups before I eventually communicated with a Lead Client Support Specialist.

To Mindbody’s credit, after considerable back-and-forth, they ultimately reduced the proposed buyout from $1,859 to $255. I appreciate that they were eventually willing to make that concession. However, it took significant time, persistence, and correspondence to reach that point, and the overall experience left me extremely dissatisfied with how the original sale and subsequent cancellation dispute were handled.

For other small business owners considering Mindbody, I strongly recommend carefully reading the entire subscription term, cancellation provisions, and contract before accepting anything, regardless of what you believe was communicated during the sales conversation. Make sure you understand exactly how long you are committing to and what happens financially if you decide the platform isn’t right for your business.

Based on my experience, I would not use Mindbody again. For my particular small-business needs, I have found Square offers many of the features I need at a price and structure that are a much better fit for my business.

She has been super patient with me, helping me to understand all the features and been responsive via email as well. Learning to navigate Mindbody has become much easier with Susana's support and I am happy to continue having her close to us whenever we need her!

Noel, the sales rep and Caroline the onboarding rep were both amazing. Supper professional, deep knowledge of the product and managed to answer all of questions. With these two professionals we managed to go live in 24 hours with our mindbody listing.

Stephannie was incredible in helping us get our business set up. We had a few unique requests that she handled without a problem.

I’d like to speak to your supervisor immediately my wife is crying because you said how horrible of a job she’s doing and we are out of sessions. We can’t even use your system for our facility and all the things were explained to the sales rep and he said we could but that is a lie. WE NEED HELP WITH THE SYSTEM AND YOU ARE SAYING WE CANT HAVE IT!!! This is not right Peter. We have been paying 300$ a month for nothing absolutely nothing we have not used your system at all and you do not want to help any further is ridiculous. I can’t even fathom how much of a disappointment this system and help have been.

I had a great experience with Mindbody. The platform is easy to navigate, professional, and makes managing a fitness business much more organized. From scheduling classes and managing memberships to keeping everything in one place, it simplifies a lot of the day-to-day work.

Dennis was especially helpful throughout the process. He was professional, responsive, patient, and made sure everything was explained clearly. His customer service made the experience even better. Definitely a valuable platform, and I really appreciate Dennis for all of his help.

We have a very complicated internal system within our gym and Stephannie B was such a great help from the very beginning. She was so patient with us making numerous changes and was constantly coming up with creative ways to troubleshoot. She is the best and we will miss her!

My business is listed on Mind Body and in 8 months I have not received a single client through them. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and gives great customer service, however, there is way TOO MUCH work required of the business owner and it is VERY complicated!! I wish I never signed up with them. HUGE waste of time and money. So disappointed.

Moses was great. We had lots of questions and he answered them all! Mindbody is a great system to work with.

I had a wonderful experience working with Caroline. She literally stepped out of her role because the others on the team did not. She is probably one of the best employees MindBody has. I hope to continue working with Caroline on projects that I will have for my business.

6 months of no consistent training therefore 6 free months of nothing literally. They also have merged an existing booking system and that one is the only system that gets the bookings however Mind Body uses them to book other calendars. I cannot get clients as since uploading all of my pre-existing customers they chose not to accept any emails from mind body leaving my business in a no win situation. I cannot send a lb offer to anyone and I cannot upload to social media as simply insufficient training.

Disgusting company attitude just money grabbing as a lot of these companies are now by cold calling with false information then signing you into a contract
