General information about the Monitoring service

With the Monitoring service, you can check the availability of various services from multiple locations on the Internet and set up notifications about the result of the checks.

You can also order a service administration service so that Selectel specialists can create a monitoring system for your services.

Metrics

Metrics are terms for testing a service for accessibility from different points on the web.

There are 17 types of metrics available.

PING	Having a connection to the server, helps to measure the latency from the test point to the server
TCP	TCP port status
UDP	UDP port status
SSH	Connection without authorization, SSH banner
SMTP/POP3/IMAP	Mail operability by selected protocol
DNS	Correctness of domain name to IP address conversion
HTTP GET	Content and response code, search for substring in returned data
HTTP HEAD	Lightweight GET request, checks if a document is available on the server by response code without loading the document body
HTTP Basic Authorization	Basic authorization mechanism
HTTP Digest	Digest authorization mechanism
FTP	FTP server availability
PostgreSQL	PostgreSQL database availability
MySQL	MySQL database availability
Redis	Redis database availability

Cost

The service is paid monthly, the cost depends on the number of metrics. The first three metrics per month are free of charge.

You can view the cost and pay for metrics in the control panel: in the top menu, click Products → Monitoring → Order Metrics.

If you want to receive metrics notifications via SMS, you need to pay for SMS packages in addition.To view the cost and pay for SMS, you can do this in the control panel: in the top menu, click Products → Monitoring → Reports and Notifications → in the top right corner, click Order SMS.
