The world is facing a new economic reality, where geopolitical tensions, trade frictions, and rapid technological change are reshaping industries. Competitiveness and resilience are now strategic imperatives. Together, the Nordics represent the world’s 12th largest economy, with strong institutions, high trust, and world-class innovation. Stronger, more integrated capital markets are essential to scaling Nordic companies and startups. Through Nordic Compass, we could contribute to increasing access to risk capital and advancing further Nordic capital markets integration. The task is now to mobilise these strengths jointly and turn them into concrete action. Nordic Compass is designed to do exactly that: advancing a limited number of high-impact, implementation-ready initiatives through close public-private collaboration. Chaired by Jyrki Katainen and Kristin Skogen Lund, the Board guides the overall direction of Nordic Compass, ensuring that collaboration across industry and governments translates into tangible outcomes. We're honored that Canadian Ambassador Robert Sinclair and EU Arctic Envoy Jyrki Katainen set the agenda. Marybeth Sandell, editor-in-chief of Arctic Today, captured what made the event stand out: "This was my fourth seminar in seven days on the Arctic, and the Chamber Roundtable was the only one that had policymakers, researchers, operating companies and investors around the same table." The insight? The Arctic demands a holistic approach, not silos. Climate change, geopolitical risk, sovereignty over critical minerals, and business opportunities are interconnected and require cross-sector dialogue and a public - private way of working. More findings to come next week. Our gratitude to Ambassador Sinclair, Mr. Katainen, and our wise roundtable participants for such a compelling conversation. Det tog jeg en løbetur med Bo for at blive klogere på. For Bo er svaret klart: Sælgeren er ikke død. Rollen har bare ændret sig 🔄 Og jeg ku’ ikke være mere enig → det er aldrig et spørgsmål om enten/eller, men både/og. Der er ingen grund til at have en kørende sælger inde over de køb, som kunderne faktisk helst kan og vil foretage selv. 🎯 Sælgeren skal skabe værdi ved at forstå behovet og hjælpe kunden med at købe det rigtige. Det satte vi fokus på, da Nordea samlede erhvervskunder til en eftermiddag med perspektiver på amerikansk politik og økonomi – og på den geopolitiske virkelighed, som danske virksomheder skal agere i. Vores chef for erhvervskunder i Nordea Jakob Beck Thomsen indledte eftermiddagen på scenen, og bød alle velkommen. I samtale med journalist Poul Erik Skammelsen delte den tidligere amerikanske ambassadør Rufus Gifford herefter sine erfaringer og perspektiver på, hvor USA er på vej hen - hvordan Washington ser på Europa, og hvilken betydning det kommende midtvejsvalg kan få på erhvervslivet og økonomien. Samtidig gav Nordeas cheføkonom Helge Pedersen en status på amerikansk og international økonomi. I en tid præget af geopolitiske spændinger og ændrede handelsvilkår er indsigt i amerikanske beslutninger vigtig for dansk erhvervsliv. Derfor er det afgørende for os i Nordea at være tæt på vores kunder og bidrage med viden og rådgivning, der gør det lettere at træffe beslutninger i en usikker verden. I denne episode diskutterede vi, hvornår og hvordan vi kan bruge data i den kreative process uden at dræbe den. For dør kreativiteten, falder resultater også. Meget.
