Yvonne Riedel shared thisDie meisten Mitarbeiter können nicht verhandeln. Das kostet Unternehmen Millionen. Wenn wir über Verhandlungen sprechen, denken die meisten an Vertriebsteams, Einkäufer oder Führungskräfte. Dabei verhandeln wir jeden Tag. Mit Kunden. Mit Lieferanten. Mit Kolleginnen und Kollegen. Bei Projekten. Bei Prioritäten. Bei Budgets. Trotzdem behandeln viele Unternehmen Verhandlungskompetenz noch immer als Fähigkeit, die ausschließlich im Vertrieb oder Einkauf benötigt wird und HR schult ausschließlich diese Abteilungen. Doch hier liegt der Fehler. Denn was ist mit dem IT-Kollegen, der langjährige Serververträge abschließt, der Marketingmanagerin, die Rahmenverträge mit TikTok verhandelt und der People Managerin, welche die jährlichen Firmenevents organisiert? Sie alle verhandeln jeden Tag. Deshalb investieren wir bei New Flag in die Verhandlungskompetenzen all unserer Mitarbeitenden. Neben unternehmensweiten Trainings gibt es auch unsere Negotiation Championships. Und die müssen nicht immer im langweiligen Seminarraum stattfinden. Letzte Woche ging es für uns auf den Padel-Court. Neben einer Impulssession von The Gap Partnership traten in 1:1-Verhandlungscases Kolleginnen und Kollegen gegeneinander an. Es wurde argumentiert, verhandelt, hinterfragt und nach kreativen Lösungen gesucht. Anschließend diskutierten wir gemeinsam die Learnings und reflektierten, welche Strategien funktioniert haben und welche nicht. Denn Verhandeln lernt man aus meiner Sicht nicht durch Folien oder Theorie allein. Man lernt es durch Übung. Durch Feedback. Durch echte Situationen. Und genau deshalb sollte Verhandlungskompetenz keine Spezialfähigkeit für einige wenige sein, sondern eine Kernkompetenz in jedem Unternehmen und als Standard in jeden internen Trainingskatalog. Der krönende Abschluss nach dem Verhandlungstraining? Natürlich unser Padel-Turnier. Wie schult ihr alle Mitarbeiter im Verhandeln? Yvonne Riedel shared thisWarum die besten Führungskräfte nicht die besten Antworten haben. Wenn ich in einem Coaching-Training Übungen wie den„leeren Stuhl“ für Konfliktsituationen ankündige, schauen mich viele Führungskräfte skeptisch an. Später gehören diese Übungen oft zu den größten Aha-Momenten des Tages. Warum? Weil Coaching nicht bedeutet, Menschen zu sagen, was sie tun sollen. Es bedeutet, ihnen dabei zu helfen, selbst zu erkennen, was sie tun können. Nachdem wir auf die ersten Leadership-Training so gutes Feedback bekommen haben, überlegen wir unseren Führungskräften noch mehr Coaching-Skills an die Hand zu geben. Dabei arbeiten wir unter anderem mit dem Konzept"Care to Dare" von Georg Kohlrieser. Die Idee dahinter ist einfach: Menschen wachsen am stärksten, wenn sie gleichzeitig Unterstützung und Herausforderung erleben. Zu viel Fürsorge führt dazu, dass Menschen in ihrer Komfortzone bleiben. Zu viel Druck ohne Vertrauen führt zu Angst. Coaching Skills und gute Führung schaffen beides: ✅ Sicherheit durch Vertrauen und echtes Interesse am Menschen ✅ Herausforderung durch Mut, Verantwortung und ambitionierte Ziele ✅ Die Fähigkeit, zuzuhören statt vorschnell Lösungen zu liefern ✅ Die richtigen Fragen zu stellen statt alle Antworten zu kennen Fokus unserer Trainings sind dabei u.a. die richtigen Fragen zu stellen und dadurch viele Perspektivwechsel zu erzeugen. Wer immer die Antworten liefert, löst vielleicht das Problem von heute. Wer gute Fragen stellt, entwickelt die Menschen von morgen. Yvonne Riedel shared thisDie meisten Teams scheitern nicht an fehlendem Talent. Sie scheitern daran, dass sie sich nie wirklich kennengelernt haben. Die NASA trainiert Teamdynamiken. Piloten trainieren Crew Resource Management. Google hat mit Project Aristotle festgestellt, dass nicht die einzelnen Talente den Unterschied machen, sondern die Art, wie Menschen zusammenarbeiten. Wenn Astronauten und Piloten Teamdynamik trainieren, warum müssen Personalleiter:innen immer wieder interne Überzeugungsarbeit leisten, dass Teamentwicklung nicht optional ist? Unternehmen geben Millionen für Strategie und Tools aus und fast keine Zeit, um ihre Teams zu verstehen. Deshalb haben wir im People Team eigene Team Discovery Workshops entwickelt und rollen diese gerade global aus. Keine Standard-Schulung von der Stange, sondern ein Format, das wir für unsere Organisation aufgebaut haben und wir kontinuierlich weiterentwickeln. Aktuell reise ich durch unsere Offices und Abteilungen und arbeite direkt mit den Teams vor Ort. Gemeinsam erstellen wir ihre persönlichen Team Canvas: ✅ Wer sind wir als Team? Welche Stärken bringen wir mit? ✅ Welche Rollen übernehmen wir? ✅ Welche Werte und Spielregeln verbinden uns? ✅ Was bedeutet Erfolg für uns? Welche Lücken müssen wir schließen, um diese Ziele zu erreichen? Für mich ist genau das eine wichtige Aufgabe von HR: Nicht nur Prozesse gestalten. Nicht nur Recruiting betreiben. Sondern Teams dabei unterstützen, sich selbst besser zu verstehen und zukünftiger erfolgreicher zusammenzuarbeiten. Denn high performing Teams haben nicht nur gemeinsame Ziele. Yvonne Riedel shared thisWir haben unsere OKRs beerdigt. Und plötzlich wurde einiges klarer. OKRs gelten seit Jahren als Goldstandard moderner Unternehmensführung. Google. Start-ups. Scale-ups. Berater. Coaches. Jeder kennt sie. Jeder nutzt sie. Jeder spricht darüber. Und ja: Auch wir waren überzeugt. Am Anfang zumindest. Doch irgendwann entstand bei uns ein Gefühl, das vermutlich viele Teams kennen. Eine Mischung aus Liebe und Hass. Liebe, weil OKRs helfen können, Fokus zu schaffen. Hass, weil zu viele Objectives. Zu viele Key Results. Zu viele Abstimmungen. Zu viele Diskussionen über Formulierungen. Zu viele Meetings darüber, was eigentlich gemeint ist. Und irgendwann stellt man sich eine simple Frage: Arbeiten wir noch an unseren Zielen oder arbeiten wir mittlerweile am OKR-System selbst? Wenn ein Framework wichtiger wird als das Ergebnis. Irgendwann haben wir gemerkt: Das Problem sind nicht die Ziele. Das Problem ist, wenn das Zielsystem nicht zur Unternehmenskultur passt. Ich möchte OKRs nicht abschreiben, aber vielleicht sind sie nicht das richtige System für jedes Unternehmen. Anfang des Jahres haben wir unsere OKRs durch Battle Cards ersetzt. Jedes Team definiert pro Quartal zwei Battle Cards. Zu Beginn sind alle schwarz-weiß und hängen in jedem Office an der Wand. Weltweit. Für jeden sichtbar. Wird ein Ziel erreicht, wird die Battle Card farbig. Unser Ziel? Am Ende jedes Quartals eine komplett farbige Wand. In jedem unserer Büros. Die schwarz-weißen Karten zeigen, wo wir noch liefern müssen. Das besprechen wir in Retros. Die bunten Karten zeigen, was wir gemeinsam erreicht haben und dürfen gefeiert werden. Das schafft uns Klarheit, Fokus und eine globale Transparenz. Mein Learning: Hinterfragt eure Zielsysteme. Nicht jedes Unternehmen braucht dasselbe Framework. Das beste Tool ist nicht das bekannteste. Yvonne Riedel shared thisUnpopular Opinion: Die meisten AI-Projekte sparen keine Zeit. Sie verlagern Arbeit. Neue Tools. Neue Prompts. Neue Prozesse. Und am Ende arbeiten viele Teams genauso viel wie vorher. Was machen viele Teams falsch: Sie suchen nach dem nächsten Tool. Aber Produktivität entsteht nicht durch ein weiteres Tool. Sie entsteht, wenn man aufhört, schlechte Prozesse zu perfektionieren. Genau deshalb freue ich mich auf die Session von Christopher Weggler bei unserem The Power People Meet-up am 29. From Canada, London, Italy and Sweden, we welcomed some of the most inspiring guest artists in the industry, bringing incredible creativity, education and fresh inspiration to the stage. But this weekend was about so much more than hair. It was about bringing our industry together. Celebrating the talent, passion and creativity that makes this community so special, and sharing one thing we all have in common: Our love for the industry and our love for Maria Nila. 850 people. One incredible community. One shared passion. They recently appointed Avani Solanki Prabhakar as Chief People and AI Enablement Officer, placing a 3,000+ person team under her to lead AI transformation across their 14,000 employees. Why? Because deploying technology is a software challenge. Reimagining how work gets done, and guiding human beings through that shift, is an organizational one. And no function is better equipped to lead organizational transformation than People & Culture. Look at the scale of what we’re facing: 📊 39% of worker skills will be transformed or obsolete by 2030. 📊 86% of business leaders expect AI to fundamentally change how their company operates within the decade (both stats shared by the World Economic Forum). Here’s the reality: AI transformation isn't an overnight rollout. It’s a continuous, unpredictable evolution. Work that required three people last year looks completely different today, and entirely new disciplines are appearing overnight. And you can't solve a moving target with static tools. The winners of this shift won't be the companies that buy the flashiest AI tools, they’ll be the ones that build the most adaptable organizations. And because culture, org design, and talent development are the core drivers of adaptability, People leaders are uniquely positioned to take the wheel. A couple of weeks ago, my co-founder and I finally signed the contract for our GmbH. YEEEEEES!!! Getting there was a long ride with a lot of ups and downs. After 7 years in tech sales, I left my job to explore what I really want to do. I decided to build something of my own. From the outside, the months after that probably looked like I was lost. Some days it felt like that too. Nobody, including me really knew where I was headed But I explored a lot: - Holistic health retreats - strength training - Way too many coffee chats with way too many ideas For months, I worked on a group strength training studio with a team I really liked. Then I walked away from it. The setup just didn't fit what I need right now. It was one of the hardest decisions of my year. Looking back, none of it was wasted. Every idea I dropped made it clearer what I actually want to build. Founding the GmbH? It's not the finish line. It's where the real rollercoaster starts. So I'm taking you along. Trying to be as real as possible. Showing the good, the bad and the ugly. A small hint: it has to do with health, community and extreme temperatures. More in the next posts. Stay tuned. So many interviews with all areas of Deloitte, AI-supported focus groups and analysis rounds got us to the best fitting narrative, slogan & visual concept. Sven Schulz & team: thank you for this experience and amazing outcome – I will be watching from afar how the whole story comes to life and how you will continue to connect it with your digital & campaign expertise. 🚀Going live with the first AI solution within People - Karolin Wehr & team I am still flashed by the dedication from you and the entire (project) team, starting from the business case back in 2023 to implementing the solution (despite various data privacy challenges 🙈) and since then continously focusing on quality. 🚀Revamping the campus marketing with you, Kerstin Wagner & team – introducing a transparent campus sharepoint that helps the team and business counterparts alike, doing hundreds and hundreds of campus events each year, being able to track the ROI of our activities and getting structure into chaos. Thank you for our drive and dedication! 🚀And Anja Fellenberg & team – hiring a "small city" every year with record acceptance rates and time to hires thanks to state-of-the-art Active Sourcing & TRM and the entire teams' dedication to “Recruiting Excellence”.
