Laurents Mohr posted this*** PERSONAL UPDATE *** In October I enrolled in med school at Universitätsklinikum Hamburg Eppendorf and moved to Hamburg. Curiosity has always been my super power and since I was a teenager I spent lots of my free time studying health, nutrition, psychology and athletic performance. I finally made the decision to turn my passion into a career and embark on the long journey towards a medical degree. I am focusing on the areas of functional medicine, prevention, nutrition, longevity, performance medicine and mental health. I plan on sharing my learnings along the way and look forward to interesting discussions around these topics. Feel free to reach out if you have personal health related questions. Happy to do some digging for you! #functionalmedicine #medicine #longevity #nutrition #supplements #mentalhealth #preventivemedicine

Laurents Mohr liked thisLaurents Mohr liked thisI've tried all key wearables now: Whoop, Oura, Apple Watch, Garmin When wearing two at the same time, the biggest delta I measured in how I was "supposed to feel" was 40%+... Without diving into details of inaccuracies and the lawsuit against Oura, I'd say making decisions on how hard you'll push through a day or workout purely based on those scores is not a solid framework (garbage in, garbage out). However, I still learned a lot from all this tracking, and similar to calorie counting, I'd generally recommend trying it at least for a month or two. The main benefits are increasing awareness, e.g. regarding the impact of alcohol, and observing trends. The risk is that nocebo effects are real (Negative expectations can produce negative outcomes), and there are some studies suggesting that sleep tracking might reduce sleep quality by causing anxiety (e.g. Lundekvam, 2026 or Baron et al., 2017 with the great title "Orthosomnia: Are Some Patients Taking the Quantified Self Too Far?"). What I find very interesting to observe in our work with clients is that data obsession does not really seem to correlate with successful behavior change. Listening to your body, and navigating stress + recovery through self-awareness rather than data awareness, is likely the holy grail. But many people need some data as guidance to get there! For our product, we will pull the key data from wearables, but won't add a simplified daily "Readiness" or "Body Battery" score on top - for the time being. P.S. For endurance sports, there's more technical benefits in tracking and I might keep the Garmin for running. For strength training and body recomposition goals, I don't think you urgently need a wearable - and I'm looking forward to try a period of not using any. :)

Today, we are taking the next big step together. Our ambition is clear: to create the most innovative and open operating system for the first line of healthcare. 🤝 Germany’s most forward-thinking healthcare organizations already rely on us to run their frontline healthcare operations. Now, we are creating the platform that will enable even more practitioners and healthcare organizations to lead this transformation. 👩🏼⚕️ With a team of now 240 people and some of the most experienced product experts in the EHR market, we have everything it takes to disrupt frontline healthcare - we believe the power of AI will transform how care is delivered, the role of practitioners as well as the quality of care.⚡ A transaction of this scale would not have been possible without a strong partner. A huge thank you to our chairman Dr. Jörg Heimel and the entire Verdane team - especially to Dominik and Moritz - for your trust, support and shared ambition. 🙏 Most importantly, thank you, Torsten and Philipp, for this unique opportunity, for everything you have built and for trusting us with the next chapter. Frederic & I are proud to continue building on your legacy - together. 💚

Laurents Mohr liked thisLaurents Mohr liked thisI run my company through voice notes. You should too! I know some people hate receiving tasks via voice notes. It can feel like the burden of structuring someone else’s stream of consciousness is being pushed onto you. But I’ve found that voice notes supercharged my delegation quality. One of the most important variables for delegation success is context. Because every task requires dozens of micro-decisions. And when those are unclear, the person receiving the task has to guess their way through it. Imo leadership ususally does a good job giving context for big projects. Before handing off something high stakes, good leaders sit down, answer questions, and transfer the full context first. But people rarely do this for small tasks. Those are often delegated quickly, with little to no context which dramatically decreases outcome quality. Voice messages solve that. I can explain what I’m thinking, why I’m thinking it, what matters, what doesn’t, and what I’d do in their position in 1-3 minutes. This brain dump, including the task, the desired outcome, goals, context, guidance, tips etc is super powerful. I'm now running my company almost entirely this way. My two RAYs get full briefs while I'm walking or driving. Sometimes in a super short call, sometimes via WA voice. Way more tasks are off my table end to end cause they come back perfectly and I don’t have to iterate on the details. 2 minutes more invested upfront save a lot down the line.

Laurents Mohr liked thisLaurents Mohr liked thisAs I'm not rushing to raise institutional capital for my new company (after raising 3 rounds in 12m for the previous one), I sometimes feel like people have the impression I reduced my ambition. The opposite is true. I'm more ambitious than ever. Similarly aggressive, slightly more patient. I'm going for a real moonshot: working on something I care about, with the ambition to dominate an expandable category in the long run, while keeping autonomy and team / investor interests aligned. Unlikely to work, very likely to take years of pain - and if it works, it will be beautiful (+ deliver returns). Happy Sunday :))

Aaron joins us with a strong track record across management consulting, commercial operations, and corporate development at fast-growing startups, alongside firsthand experience as a venture co-founder. He holds a degree in Management & Technology from Technical University of Munich and was awarded a scholarship from UnternehmerTUM. As Mirantus enters its next phase of growth, Aaron will join our leadership team and work directly with me to help shape what comes next. His role will span strategic planning, fundraising, international expansion, and initiatives that bring different parts of the company together. He will help us set clear priorities, turn decisions into action, and keep the company moving forward as we grow. I’m very happy to have you alongside us, Aaron - and excited for everything we’re going to build together!

Laurents Mohr reacted on thisLaurents Mohr reacted on thisThe reality of entrepreneurship is sometimes so painful that it can physically damage you Recently went through a co-founder breakup, facing the risk of having to close or move my test gym (due to noise complaints) and PMF iterations progressing slower than planned August has been the toughest month since working on the new company, and my body did not like it at all Starting with the mind and workload: Usually, I can mentally get over individual setbacks quickly, by acting on situations I can control and writing off what I can't control. However, when multiple things you can't control add up, and you're still in a very early stage phase (= "pre delegation"), it is fatiguing - but you're not able to press pause on operations / take a vacation: Clients need to be served, bugs need to be fixed and decisions need to be taken. So what happened physically, or psychosomatically? My HRV absolutely tanked, almost 50% down from its usual 90-110 down to 50-70, which I'd otherwise only experience during a hangover (barely had a drink in the past month, and haven't had a cold or sickness in years...so it can only be the stress). I took my Whoop off most days, because I didn’t feel like I needed to see a daily confirmation that I’m lacking recovery while being determined to march forward. Instead of checking numbers in the morning, I did ca. 2 min of slow exhale breathing, and switched my phone on only after taking a shower / while walking to work. In the gym, I reduced my volume to a maintenance minimum (ca. 4 exercises x 2 heavy sets per workout) but my nervous system still felt so fried that it was a struggle to maintain my weights, unable to achieve progressive overload. Nutrition and sleep remained surprisingly solid - thanks to always having prepped meals in the freezer, and sticking to sleep consistency most nights, with 6-7h. Anyway, this week the fog finally started to clear, and the future won't be built by dwelling on the past. In that sense, TGIF. Excited to crush workouts and iterations soon again.
