We don't need everyone to act before we can end plastic pollution. WWF's latest analysis shows that countries already backing strong global rules represent 20-41% of global plastic demand. That’s well beyond the 10-20% threshold needed to influence how plastic is designed, produced and sold worldwide and trigger a global plastic market transition. When enough countries move together, they can change the direction of the entire system. The opportunity is here. Forget the mood board. Nature's been doing this for millions of years. 🦎 🦓 🦚 🐆 🦒 A chameleon that changes its pattern mid-scene. Stripes built to confuse predators. Rosettes designed for the hunt. A display so bold it comes with its own soundtrack. A coat pattern so unique, no two giraffes ever match. These animals aren't just fascinating, they're essential to the wellbeing of our planet, and the pattern worth protecting is simple: where wildlife thrives, nature does too.

Nature is full of facts that sound almost too strange to be true. But behind everyone is an animal with an important role to play. Green sea turtles help spread seeds through seagrass meadows. Octopuses help cycle nutrients through our oceans. And crows help clean up ecosystems by feeding on carrion and organic waste. Different animals. Different roles. One interconnected natural world worth protecting.

El Niño is back, and forecasts suggest it could be record-breaking. There's no strong evidence that climate change makes El Nino more frequent. But it's arriving on a much hotter planet. And that changes everything. Warmer ocean and air hold more energy, so the same natural climate pattern can now drive more dangerous heat, harsher drought and higher flood risk, putting pressure on food systems. No part of the world will be unaffected. The numbers are stark. Five El Nino events have peaked sea surface temperatures above 2.0°C since 1950. This El Nino event could peak significantly higher, at around 3.6ºC, scientists say. This lands on a planet already running hot. 2026 has a 95% chance of ranking among the four warmest years on record due to climate change, which is already making our climate volatile. El Nino will intensify these extreme conditions. The difference between a forecast and a crisis is preparedness. Help must reach those with the fewest resources to respond. Now, before disaster hits. El Niño will pass. The climate crisis won’t, unless we act now. Phase out fossil fuels. Scale renewable energy. Protect and restore nature. Build resilience.

The UK government has just announced £400 million for the Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF), and I'm encouraged to see another country helping advance this bold vision for nature finance. Conserving tropical forests is not only an environmental imperative. It is an investment in climate resilience, economic stability and a safer future for communities around the world. Today's announcement is an important step forward, and I hope it helps catalyze further investment in the forests - and the people who steward them - that sustain us all. https://lnkd.in/e_jhiY4C 

Overshooting 1.5°C is not a cliff, but it is not harmless. The latest UNEP report makes clear that limiting the size and duration of any overshoot is now critical. The longer temperatures remain above safe limits, the greater the risks of irreversible impacts on people, nature and economies.    We are calling on governments to respond with delivery, not delay: stronger national climate plans, faster emissions cuts, more climate finance, accelerated adaptation, scaled-up renewables, ecosystem restoration and an end to deforestation.    The political test is simple: will governments let the world slide into more dangerous warming, or act together to keep any breach of 1.5°C as small and short as possible?
